The longer it takes to be addressed, the worse it gets, and after the first year, it becomes permanent and incurable. I now have to be on a 24-hour regimen of sedatives to keep the excruciating symptoms suppressed and am looking at needing brain surgery to mitigate the damage that was caused by my diagnosis being delayed for so long, which is LARGELY Pinnacle's fault. I saw 3 different NP neurologists there, with my symptoms getting worse each time, and them knowing I was on meds that could cause TD. The 1st NP, Lisa- who no longer works there- accused me of lying. The 2nd, Debby, told me my symptoms were just psychosomatic. The 3rd, Allison, told me it couldn't be TD, despite the fact that I was visibly grimacing and moving my jaw around, and my teeth kept snapping shut, all of which are classic, TEXTBOOK TD symptoms. She told me the grimacing must be from my chronic pain and dismissed my other symptoms completely because I was not displaying one VERY specific symptom that NOT everyone with TD even develops, and is absolutely NOT a requirement for a diagnosis. I finally convinced my psychiatrist to take a closer look and when she saw the grimacing and jaw movements, she IMMEDIATELY diagnosed me with TD. I cannot recommend Pinnacle. The care I received there was LESS than subpar UPDATE: Because of the original bad review I left them here, despite the fact that I was willing to give Pinnacle one more chance because they finally hired an ACTUAL doctor, my appt was cancelled, I've been barred from being seen there at all, and now have had FALSE allegations made against me about supposedly abusing the staff over the phone and the patient portal. First of all, I only JUST got access to the patient portal in the last few days, and I sent exactly ONE message on it to tell them that their website worked terribly and to call them out for using the "American Indian" in the demographics section. The office manager made excuses for this last point, said SHE didn't think it was racist (NOT her call to make, as I would expect if she were Indigenous American herself, she'd have said so), and cited UCLA and the US Consensus, both of which are NOT the Indigenous American community and do not get a say about what term is appropriate- never mind the fact that it's been removed from the common vernacular, and widely considered outdated and racist for over twenty years already. I have also never once CALLED and actually complained about my abysmal treatment by their NPs to ANYONE there, never mind the reception staff, because I understand that the front desk has NO control over what the medical providers do. I was called a liar AGAIN by the receptionist- who was hostile with me from the very start of the call- because he claimed to be the one who I abused on the phone and I told him that I'm positive I've only spoken to him ONCE before to make that appointment. He's the only man that's ever worked that desk, so I feel like I might remember. Which seems more likely- the receptionist who fields HUNDREDS of calls daily remembers my ONE call, MONTHS AGO and I was SO abusive that he made the appt w/o protest, or that -I- actually remember the ONLY call I made to them in over a year when I spoke to the ONLY man who's ever answered that phone? And yes, THIS time, I DID tell him to go eff himself. I also caught HIM in a lie. First, he claimed that HE was the one I supposedly abused on the phone. THEN he let slip that I've ACTUALLY been barred for over a year, which means this was decided before he worked there, but does actually coincide almost perfectly with the time I left the original review here. So, am I banned for abusing the staff just a few months ago, or was it because I left a bad review over a year ago? Do NOT go to Pinnacle. This is beyond me not recommending them: I am warning you AWAY from them

I paid my $40 copay when billed for it, but they apparently did not record my payment properly in their billing system. After multiple interactions to attempt to correct this, I spent my very limited personal time to gather and email Ms. Ditomoaso a copy of my bank record showing my $40 check was cleared with THEIR business info on the back of the check. She responded with an apology and said she would fix their system to reflect paid in full. However, TWO MONTHS later, I received ANOTHER demand for payment of the same $40. I do not know what more I can do to convince you never to walk through their doors. They will hound you forever for payments you have already made!

After seeing a GP in NJ who was unable to diagnose or medically manage my issue I was sent to a terrible neurologist in NJ who did nothing to help me. After moving to Alaska, I ended up in the ER and was referred to Dr Wayne Downs which was the best thing that ever happened to me because for the first time I my adult life my issues are under control and I have a doctor that listens to me. At present we are meeting over Zoom, but that has in no way affected the doctor's attentiveness. I very much recommend him. Just be aware that he often runs behind because he takes as much time as is necessary to address his patient's concerns and properly chart. I'm fine with that.

Their priorities are disappointing and not representative of a doctor who is providing a positive mental health care experience. Further, their office practices blatantly price gouging and lying about insurance providers accepted. I have filed an official complaint with Aetna. They charge over 4 times the "usual and customary" amount. Please do not provide them with your business.

The June follow up which required the insertion of a tube which was inserted in my femoral artery. That's when everything went "south" on me. The doctor used fentanyl which was not what we had agreed to during the pre-surgical meeting prior to the surgery. This was all done at Alaska Regional Hospital. I informed Dr Tolbert that fentanyl passes right through my system, providing absolutely no pane relief. As a result, I felt the incision, being alert and aware of the entire procedure. He decided having an anesthesiologist attend the surgery was unnecessary. Since I was literally buckled down on the table, all I could do was to scream out in severe pain. Closing the wound required two nurses pushing down on the inside of my groin, with all their upper body weight to prevent me from bleeding out. Because of the "blown" closure, I had to lay absolutely flat on my back for 6+ hours after the procedure was done. The hospital report said that everything turned out normal, no mention of the loud screaming or my struggles, at all. I informed the hospital of my experience. Dr Tolbert further refused to acknowledge any part of what had happened. I was pissed and decided to contact a couple law firms that specialized in medical malpractice only to find out he had them collectively on retainers so they could not represent me. Eventually I gave up trying to resolve my complaint through the courts. Later I discovered I was not the only patient who found Dr Tolberts actions to be both excruciatingly painful but dangerous due to the high degree of pain I experienced. He had a "C-" on these report pages from previous patients. He further refused to fill out the paperwork from my insurance company which would have allowed me to return to work, to this day. This has resulted in extreme financial hardship for my family. Dr Tolbert was referred to me by my pain specialist so I didn't do my homework to check his performance record. Shame on me! I hope these comments will help others avoid the awful experience I had to endure. If I had the required funds, I would like to make him pay for what he did. Beware, John C Hughes

They sent me all the documents online and I was able to square it all away ahead of time. The front desk was also very nice, and personable. It was also easy to find their office at Alaska Regional. I felt very respected and heard by Dr. Troxell and her nurse when it came to many medical issues I've been experiencing. She was informative and gentle in conducting the emg. I also have a huge fear of needles and she did a super job at reassuring me and being cautious in delivery.
