Just had them cater a retirement party. I got the baker boats and the veggie boats. I had the special Italian salad as a side. Everything thing was amazing. I had so many guests ask where I got the food. I would absolutely recommend Pinnons for your catering needs. They have many more choices to choose from. What a Rockford classic! First time actually coming into the store and I was surprised to how much stuff they have other than meats! The store was clean, staff was friendly and we walked out of there with 2 bacon wrapped filets, their ready to go meals of spicy lobster Mac n cheese and cheesy potatoes. This is my go-to place for great pre-prepared meals and fantastic meats. The actual "grocery store" is basic at best (think, "a step above a well-stocked 7-11"). A neighborhood icon for an excellent meat counter, prepared meals, fresh baked goods, pies, and the like, but you'll probably still need to go to Woodman's or Valli Produce afterwards for your other weekly staples. read more

I wrote a review concerning the seafood(king crab legs), and my opinion was the crab legs were not up to expectations(as a matter of fact they were distasteful) maybe just a bad batch, however the steak, stuffed mushroom and lobster were on point. very good. I received an email from the business(which I did not anticipate) wanting to correct my concerns. I have not called them yet but I will. Now a days you don't expect these businesses to make things right, I guess I am wrong in my thinking because this business gets a high rating for doing just that. I am appreciative to them for wanting to create and maintain great customer service, something we dont see a lot of. other than the crab legs I don't have any complaints regarding this establishment. As a matter of fact I will continue to purchase my steaks from them because they were very desirable and tasty. My wife called on a Saturdayto see if their Christmas sausage was available. The person said yes it was on sale. I went there the next day (Sunday) , ordere 6 pounds, only to find it was not on sale. When I asked about the price change, they said the sale ended Saturday. I wish I was told on the phone the previous day. Oh well, since I was there I picked up the 6 pounds and virtually gave away $6. But, the issue is that when I cooked it and shared it with family, it was the too salty, the casing had air pockets and there was no taste of wine/ cheese at all. I've bought that sausage for a Christmas tradition over the years, but I don't know if new ownership / meat processing person had an effect or not. There are too many meat shops in Rockford, so I wont be setting foot in Pinnons again. read more

I recently hosted my son's graduation party and had Pinnon's provide the meals. WOW, this was great from the word go! Called in to place the order and they were friendly, informative, professional and, did I say friendly? Katy walked me through the menu that I requested and we set up the pick up time. I arrived for the pick up and they loaded it into the car for me, walked me through the burner lighting and maintaining and I was off. The party was a success and I received compliments from numerous guests. The return of the warming boxes and trays couldn't have been easier. These people know their business and are great at it. I drive across town just to shop at Pinnon's. My favorites are the crab cakes, Stuffed mushrooms and baked beans. The delicious Italian bread is made fresh daily. For a small local shop they have your needs met. 10/10 for the 10oz ribeye steaks they sell, the crab salad, Upper Crust company's dutch apple and silk mouse pie. Quick and easy service. The reason for the 1 missing star is for some of the prepared foods they have that are really not good at all like the potato salad, macaroni salad and the isles full of open dried pigs ears and other parts that smell rancid (to me at least).
