We try to support vendors for our team events, but our experience with "Paint the Town" was chaotic…read morefrom start to finish. We booked a premium, full-service package for a team-building afternoon, but instead of relaxing, my team spent the entire time stressing, moving boxes, and cleaning up after the staff we hired. We aren't trying to be difficult clients; we simply wanted the service we paid for. Instead, we faced a massive burden: The setup was chaotic and late: For a group our size, the policy is a 40-80 minute setup window. The facilitator didn't show up until 1:33 PM for a 2:00 PM start. Her assistant didn't arrive until after the event started. We were left watching the clock, wondering if our event was even going to happen. We had to manage their logistics: The assistant arrived late and without ID. Since we are in a secure office building, she couldn't get in. Instead of the vendor handling this, my team had to stop what they were doing, leave the event space, and go down to the lobby to retrieve her and haul up the supplies she was carrying. Dismissive attitude: Mistakes happen, but the facilitator's attitude made it worse. She was dismissive about being late and shockingly unhelpful regarding her own assistant's supplies. At one point, when asked about the materials her assistant brought, she refused to help, telling us she "couldn't hang onto that." It felt like we were imposing on her, rather than the other way around. My team did the physical labor: Because they were so behind, the setup wasn't done until 2:30 PM--30 minutes into our paid time. To save the event, my colleagues and I had to step in and physically unpack boxes, set up stations, and distribute materials. We paid for a full-service event but ended up doing the heavy lifting ourselves. Contract issues: We paid extra for the "all new supplies" option so our team could keep their materials. Despite this, the facilitator packed up and took many of the paints and brushes back with her. They walked out on the mess: Despite the event starting late due to their tardiness, the facilitator refused to stay a minute past 4:00 PM. She started aggressively cleaning up while people were still painting, then bolted out the door right at 4:00, leaving us to finish the cleanup and break down the boxes. I cannot recommend this vendor. We paid for a fun, stress-free afternoon and instead received a chaotic experience where we had to work as the setup and cleanup crew.

The instructor created a fun and open environment and everyone was so present. It was a great group activity for any experience level. I did not see this email. When a response from me was not sent to them confirming I received the email, they had my phone number, why did I not receive a call. So not knowing, I showed to a closed Uncorked, I called the business number listed only to hear that I was sent an email cancelling the class due to the lack of sign ups. Ok, First, cancelling the day prior to a scheduled event does not give the customer an appropriate amount of time to plan something else in lieu of the original celebration plan. Again considering they had my phone number why didn't I receive a text or phone call to confirm. This morning, I found the email and responded and asked for a REFUND of which I still have not received! I expressed I had no interest in scheduling another event, and not I have not received a refund. You would think considering that it was cancelled by them I would have received it already! I WILL NEVER SCHEDULE ANYTHING WITH UNCORKED AGAIN! GIVE ME MY REFUND!

The day of the event we got a message from the owner that we would be unable to do this painting. The reason we chose this place was bc we wanted to do the tents. The owner said they could not do that one. We had a good sized group and had prepaid months in advance. Our group was very disappointed as most were from out of town and loved Ocean Grove OCGMA Tent community. The manager would not even honor a Groupon price. We had 20. Plus people attending. The instructor was very unmotivated. No personality. It was a job she gets paid to do nothing more nothing less. Go somewhere else or don't pay in full, make them put it in writing what they said they would do. Otherwise you will probably waste your money and be frustrated like we were.

Every room is private so it was just the 2 of us and they let you connect your phone to their system so you can listen to your own playlist while painting. They give you ample and quality gear - poncho, coveralls, gloves and goggles. And then they send you into the room with plenty of paint, 1 canvas per person and whatever else you ordered (paint bombs, paint guns, spin art, stencils, etc). We also got the bear pour as an add-on and I'm super excited about it! (Note that the bear can't be taken home that day though so we paid for shipping). You can paint wherever and however to your hearts desire. Our room also had plastic axe throwing and a drum with paint on it to splatter. I LOVE taking pictures so I also very much appreciated that they come in constantly to take pictures and send them to you a few days later. When it was time to go, they give you pizza boxes that hold the canvases perfectly. We laid down a sheet in our trunk underneath but it wasn't necessary (and our canvases had A LOT of paint on them so we we were impressed they didn't spill - and made the 1.5 hr drive home without getting ruined). It was a fun way to celebrate my birthday and I would definitely go back with my 3 boys! Afterwards, we did their target zone with BB guns (they said age minimum is about 10 which makes sense). I wasn't sure if we'd do it but I wanted to extend our day to more than just the hour so we went ahead and did it. VERY WORTH IT! Ron helped us and was a great instructor - very nice and happy to be there. We tried their airsoft rifles and then their handguns and both were very different and fun to play with. My husband and I went head to head making it a fun competition and it's pretty easy to pick it up quickly. Overall, great experience and really friendly staff!
