I was told I didn't need to come in for the fitting after my dress had been hemmed and altered minimally at the top. My dress is floor length and has a slit in it and beforehand it stayed closed until you popped your leg through it, like normal. There's now a giant triangle like gap where you can see my feet and ankle/leg when I'm just standing, heels or without and it's not like it's wrinkled weirdly, when I pull over part of the dress that's supposed to lap over it physically won't you can't get it to it won't stay. I can't pin it because it bumps out weird in the front because it's like it's not straight or something at the bottom like it doesn't line up. Mind you when my mom got her dress back. She has pockets in hers and they weren't attached for some reason like there's two separate layers of fabric and they're supposed to be connected. They were separated and we had my neighbor fix it because she was also a seamstress there's nothing that can be done about my dress besides buying a new one read more

I hate to post a negative review but I feel that it's necessary. I recently had the straps replaced on my bridesmaids dress for my sister's wedding and my husband had 3 pairs of pants hemmed. We paid $60 for the services, pretty expensive and the work was very disappointing. First problem was that they notified us our order was ready but when we arrived (after a 45 minute drive - we live out of town), only my dress was ready. We had to make another special trip to pick up the pants. Secondly, the day of the wedding, I opened the dress bag to find that the straps, which they had replaced, were stained with a blue marker!! (Yes, I should have checked the dress when we picked it up but I was very busy with wedding prep and I trusted them). Thirdly, at least one of my husband's pairs of pants is 1/2-1 Inch too short. It has to be re-done. I have no idea how this happened as I watched them pin up the hem and it looked perfect when we dropped them off. Very frustrating. The only upside is that they are very kind people and easy to interact with. One of the gals even brought toys for my son to play with while we were there. Ugh! Elbow patches were a little expensive and they put them on the forearm instead of the elbow!!! ‍‍. I have to take them off and have them redone. It was about 30 bucks and I even brought the patches in with me. I would suggest going somewhere else even if it's out of town. read more

I was recommended to this place so I had high hopes and the ladies ARE really sweet but I paid about $400 bucks for a hem, a bushel and the bust area tighter and I'm really not even sure what they did. Nobody could get my dress to stay busseled- it would fall right out. My dress (whether busseled or not) absolutely hung on the ground on all sides it was way way way too long even though I came in 3 times for a fitting and under my armpits the dress was sticking out. We had to use so much fashion tape and I was pulling it up all night and felt so uncomfortable. I honestly think it was better off before they did anything :-( I added pics to show it hanging off the side of me and how freaking long it was... loved the dress but the length looked terrible!!!! Have had these gals hem difficult gowns, do alterations and even hem jeans. Even had them replace a zipper in a wet suit. They are always fast and do a great job, and hey, they are fun to work with, too. Easy in and out of the parking lot if you are in a hurry. You don't have to pay an arm and a leg, either. read more

Amazing service. I will definitely use again. I brought in a last minute alteration to my maid of honor dress, during a busy prom season. I was afraid because my dress came in late and needed a quick turn around, I'd have to pay a fortune or end up with a hack job, thankfully she came to the rescue and gave me neither. I literally had a week before I needed it and needed to have the bust adjusted and the hem done. She said she'd have it by the day I needed it turns out she had it done the very next day! And she charged me a very fair price didn't even charge me for my lack of planning/urgency. The hem is great and the darts she did in the bust line look fantastic. I'll be using her services again as I'm very very short and need everything in my wardrobe hemmed. It's a tiny little operation, a hidden office in a shady looking alley but the service is five star and they are super nice. read more

I had gone in for alterations to my wedding dress. I had a good experience and aside from the steep pricing, I left satisfied. That is until a month later when my future wife needed her suit hemmed. When I called to ask their availability, I asked if they'd be able to hem my wife's pants and I was given a very short answer of "we don't do that" and then the woman quickly hung up. Ok. I didn't think anything of it until a few weeks later my wife had pins and needles sew patches on her shirts. I asked the woman if they hem pants and she replied "oh yes." After her response I realized that they clearly have a problem with same sex couples. I found their behavior extremely unprofessional and I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone. read more

I dropped my wedding dress off on May 31st to be ready on September 13th. After the seamstress asked me twice to push back my pick up date and I had to go in for 3 extra fittings to fix what she had screwed up (forgot to bustle my dress, couldn't find the correct fabric to re-line my bodice, and my straps were different lengths), I was forced to pay an extra $85 above the quoted price. When I picked up my dress for the final time I got home and tried it on, one of my breast pads was out of place and half of it could be seen sticking out of my dress. My mom frantically fixed their mistake because I didn't trust Pins and Needles with my dress again. The alterations on my wedding dress were not even done well enough to forget all of the stress, missed work due to extra fittings, and extra cost that came from Pins and Needles. I would never recommend this seamstress. Terrible customer service, rude and aloof owner, horrible communication, and didn't even listen to what I wanted. I will never go to Pins and Needles again and would never recommend them. read more

Even if I had discovered the problems I had listed in my previous review, there is no way anything could have been done. And yes, she did call me AFTER me wedding when she discovered my review. They were really nice to your face but really bad with communicating. I sent my wedding dress in and a month later they called me to tell me that all the marks they had on my dress were gone and I had to come back in to do another fitting TWO WEEKS before my wedding. Arrived there and found out that they had hardly done any of the alterations I had asked for even though it had been there for a MONTH. Then the next day she calls me and tells me that the dress was done....it was a really frustrating experiance. Their work was nice but if I were you I'd go somewhere else. read more

I had a really odd experience with this place. I dropped it off early April to get my wedding dress hemmed and paneling add to the back of my corset and add a few more things. I got a text from someone there saying my dress was ready and I needed to come in for a fitting. I call days ahead and made an appointment. I went in with my mother to try on the dress and the only thing done was the hemming. No paneling was added and none of the extra stuff I had asked for. It had actually been taken in in one spot and I thought "thank god I have been dieting" otherwise, because it was taken in where it should not have, I would not have been able to get in or out of it. The other women working there told me the lady who worked on my dress was not there because she was at some other place fitting a mariachi band. I left there that day upset and practically in tears since my wedding was a week and half out and almost nothing had been done to my dress. They made an appointment for me for the next day and said I could explain what had gone wrong to lady who actually worked on the dress. I came in with my mother the next day and the lady who worked on it was there and said she was sorry she was not there the day before but she had a dentist appointment that went for two hours and she was not expecting it to go that long. Um... I thought you were fitting a marichi band, was my first thought. But she had me try my dress on again and everything I wanted done was done! It was hemmed the paneling was there it was no long taken in in the wrong spots and all the other stuff I wanted was there. It was basically a completely different dress then the day before. So in the end I was just like "ok, whatever, I have my dress, it is fixed and that's what matters." it was odd experience for sure but in the end everything was fixed I look beautiful in my dress and most importantly Ill have a dress to wear 6 days from now on my wedding day. This is the second time using Pins and Needles in the last 6 months. The first was for a minor strap adjustment for my daughters graduation dress. It took 3 1/2 weeks (because I didn't tell them I needed it sooner than the event) and was $46. This last time my daughters dress needed to be taken in quite a bit. When we dropped her dress off we were told we were one of the first (homecoming dresses) and it should be done the following week, after 12 days and not hearing from them I called, and was told Yep it's done. I'm not sure the going rate on alterations but it felt high at almost $100. Their hours are quite inconvenient for working parents (they close at 5), the staff I have talked with has been less than friendly. I'll likely look around for another place next time. read more

I am very displeased with my experience here. I dropped my WEDDING dress off about 5-6 weeks ago for an easy hem(was told that from the worker here) I called this last Friday concerned about why I haven't been contacted since my wedding is this SATURDAY... The answer was they sent me a TEXT!!! About 3 weeks ago and they never heard from me and were actually concerned. Who in their right business mind sends a text? I clearly never got it... CLEARLY. You should of CALLED and left a VOICEMAIL! The excuses "Mindy" possibly owner, I'm not sure, had to say was that's what they have turned to because prom season got so busy and voicemails are always full when they call so they turned to this system. They do not double check what they are doing or make notes. I am appalled that this is even happening. I came in yesterday and expressed all of my dissatisfaction of this communication. I try my dress on and SURPRISE it's too long and needs more work... Mindy says she will take care of it no charge and to come back in tomorrow which is today to pick it up. I came back, it's still got some issues with the front and she CHARGED ME IN FULL PRICE!! This place will never get a referral from me. read more
