My goodness. Given the reception I got at another hobby store not even 15 minutes prior, this place was amazing. We walked in, asked the clerk at the register if she had the supplies we were looking for (precut ATC blanks) and not only did she know what they were, she was able to point them right out to us without hesitation, and they even had a nice variety to choose from! Even big stores that regularly carry them tend to only have one or two varieties. They had at least 6 different choices of weight, color, texture, and the like! McDee's isn't huge, but after some quick browsing it became obvious they had everything I need for drawing and painting, along with a smattering of a few other crafts (paper crafts for the most part). The prices were surprisingly good too! It was clean, friendly, well lit, and I'm told they host classes! I can't wait to see what sort they offer. They are also (obviously) a framing shop, and I've already heard from several people that they are the place to get things framed. They share a big open area with another retail store, and we were informed they do all sorts of things other than just the classes, like weddings, receptions, meetings, and the like. I was very impressed. They had what I needed, when I needed it, at a good price, with helpful and courteous service. Perfect score! read more
