When I initially rented a storage unit from Pioneer things didn't go smoothly. The unit I had rented was already occupied and had a customers lock in it. After some initial confusion they were able to find me another unit ( climate controlled ) and I was able to unload the truck about 30 minutes later then initially intended. I understand things can happen beyond anyone's control. They made it right as quickly as possible. read more

I also found this storage units personnel to be quite rude and very judgemental....filled with assumptions that were absolutely wrong. I was simply inquiring about a secluded place where my band can have bi-weekly jam sessions, as we all have our own families and extra space for a practice is not a very good option. This lady proceeded to say how they don't rent to music people as in the past some people, that have nothing to do with me or the people I play with, ended up sleeping in them....whatever their story was, I don't know, but I am not them. Then proceeded to say how if we started playing there, then other people would want to rent out other units. Her assumption of all people that play music are homeless and want to sleep in their storage units is pretty grotesque. I would love to see how she judges all other groups of people out there. Learn how to vet your clientelle, don't be lazy and don't rent to questionable people. This woman sounded very lazy, which makes sense for someone that groups all people of a certain type as the same. Don't be lazy, take care of your units and know what is going on with them. Evident that they only care about getting income, not actually running or having knowledge of their business. All the other storage units I have called were much nicer. This woman clearly holds grudges, even when she doesn't even know you...and she certainly hasn't met me. I'll be looking into if they have other businesses that I need to stay away from. I won't be giving anyone like that money, in any fashion. Read previous other negative review for the issues they had with them. And again, all issues are based around them being lazy. read more

I rented two storage units with Pioneer at their Berlin location. Always paid on time and found the units to be in excellent condition. However, because of the interaction I had with Jim in their main office today, I will not be recommending them to others or using their services in the future. I emptied both storage units and swept them clean the Tuesday before Thanksgiving and called the main office number to notify them that the units were now empty. I thanked them for the use of the units and gave them my new address so that the security deposits could be sent to me. I was assured that the man on the phone would leave my message and that the units would be checked (empty and clean) and I would receive my deposit refund at the address I had just provided. This call took place on November 22nd. My partner had given them notice the last time he paid our units, letting them know that it would be our last month with both. Today is December 1st. I have not received my deposit refunds and called the main office number that appears on their website and spoke with a man named, Jim. He said he knew nothing about it, and was incredibly dismissive and rude. I calmly asked him to please not speak to me so rudely and his reply was, "I am NOT speaking rudely to you MADAME!!!!!! I don't handle those deposit refunds and you will have to speak with Kelly tomorrow at a different number!!!!" The sarcasm was thick and his angry tone so unexpected from a professional business. I said that his tone was indeed rude and asked for the "other number" so I could call Kelly tomorrow. Jim yelled into the phone, "KISS MY ASS!!!!" and hung up. I phoned back after catching my breath and, when Jim answered, calmly asked him to please give me the second number for Kelly as it does not appear on their website. He said nothing but hung up on me a second time. I took another deep breath and called a third time, "Please do not hang up on me again until you give me the number you said I need to talk with Kelly tomorrow." Jim gave me the number and hung up. I called that number immediately and reached Dave who was in the office for Kelly. I told him what happened with Jim and, although he was polite to me, he did not apologize for the rude and unprofessional behavior of his colleague. Perhaps this is his usual way of interacting with the public? Not a surprise to his colleague? Additionally, when Dave pulled up my account their records showed that I was still occupying both units and had no record of my November 22nd notificaiton phone call or our new address, which I had provided. Dave was calm and professional and said he would have Kelly call me tomorrow. The fact that this company allows Jim to represent them as the face of the company and the fact that there was no documentation of my November 22nd phone call or change of address leaves me feeling completly dissatisfied with the level of professionalism of this company.
