Every day about 2:15 in the afternoon, there is a bus number 16 C that drives erratically on Highland Boulevard in New Dorp cutting in and out of traffic and cutting off other cars. He drives like he's intoxicated, I called the dispatcher,Tuesday but I could tell the two females weren't interested. could care less. I could hear them laughing in the background. No I would not recommend this company at all. They are dealing with children and yet when they neglected to pick my children up and left them standing in the street for the morning. I called to ask what could be done about sending the bus back as I was already in another borough at work. Instead of speaking to me they stated the bus came already and hung up on me several times. I was panicked but never once was rude to them so why they put a parent into more of a panic by hanging up and refusing to answer then phone when I called back 5 times is beyond me. They are highly unprofessional and I would recommend ANY other company be used especially by a school system!! I wouldn't even put 1 star if that was allowed for this listing!! read more

Never choose this bus service for anything! I went as a chaperone on a class trip and the teacher told the driver time of pick up from the school. Driver was 30 minutes late. Same problem for pick up from the trip site except this time the driver was 50 minutes late!!! The class waited outside in the cold and drizzle because we couldn't go back in to find shelter. You can't get an answer when you ask how often maintenance are run on the buses from dispatch, shop/maintenance departments. Only the driver. Does the driver doesn't truly know, it isn't his/her job to know. Pioneer is risking our children's and their employees safety with inadequate maintenance of the buses. Headlights, brake lights out even after the driver was informed. Brakes squeezing that can be heard from blocks away for WEEKS. Safety issues that should be addressed ASAP. Who knows what else is going on under the hood of these buses that we put our precious cargo on . If I had a choice in yellow school buses, Pioneer would not even make the list. The shop, dispatch and managers are RUDE. You get hung up on, the phone rings and rings. When you ask who you are speaking to, you get no answer. Pioneer doesn't care. I'd personally never let my child ride on one of their filthy, broken down buses with no air conditioning. They don't even have their buses properly maintained. Terrible!! Last year I waited at the bus stop numerous times and the bus never showed. I gave the benefit of the doubt because of COVID and cut this company some slack. This year its starting the exact same way. Waited at the bus stop with my 2 children for 25 minutes. Bus never showed which caused my kids to be late for school. Called the school to make a complaint but they told me to call pioneer bus company. I called pioneer bus company multiple times and cannot get through. Honestly I'm leaving this review just to vent because I don't think they care about what we say. This bus company has horrible service , I wouldn't recommend Pioneer to anyone, the driver is always late in the morning to pick up the children for school , dispatch takes a long time to respond.
