Exceptional service. Everyone was accommodating; it is also worth to mention the quick responses. Will use then again for sure!

I was going to try boxcar for the month of June given the World Cup issues. I paid $40 monthly fee…read moreand made my reservations. They cancelled every single one of them due to the World Cup and refunded me for the trips but not the monthly. They delivered on no services but leaned on a no refund policy to keep the subscription fee. Not their fault, but certainly not my fault. Not cool, in my opinion. Update. A VP from boxcar called and resolved the issue. They looked at the issue and resolved it. More companies should operate this way

Once upon a time, an innovative entrepreneur named Joe Colangelo came up with an idea: He would…read moreprovide a luxury bus service which would be an alternative to NJ Transit. In particular, the routes would serve areas with mediocre service. The NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line doesn't have direct service to New York Penn Station during rush hour. Instead, riders have to transfer at Newark Penn Station- and that transfer entails walking up to a mezzanine, passing through the mezzanine, walking down to another platform, and waiting for an overcrowded connecting train. The Boxcar Raritan Rocket remedied this problem. It stops at Fanwood, Westfield, Garwood, and Cranford before heading nonstop to Midtown Manhattan. The Ridgeliner, which stops at Berkeley Heights, New Providence, and Summit, is an alternative to the infrequent Gladstone Branch. There are quite a few other Boxcar routes. The Boxcar buses are comfortable (albeit too cold in the summer). Most seats have outlets. And there's a restroom (it has a generic weird cleaning fluid smell). And with that said, I DON'T recommend Boxcar. It's more expensive than NJ Transit. Furthermore, even though it's a one seat ride, it's slower than NJ Transit. Traffic crawls on the Garden State Parkway, NJ Turnpike, and in the Lincoln Tunnel. The convenience of a one seat ride isn't worth getting to work late. The biggest problem is that the buses simply aren't frequent enough for Boxcar to be a viable option. Life happens and plans can change on a whim. If you miss your scheduled bus then you're screwed. Ironically, you'll have to take NJ Transit. Boxcar is a great idea, but it's not practical for most commuters.

I took the NJT out of Linden to NYC a few times during my visit. For the out of towners like myself…read morewho aren't familiar with the NJT, you can get to NY Penn from Linden. It's a small station not too far from Newark. They have a few small parking lots around the station. There's a lot of construction nearby which has apparently reduced the number of available spaces. The daily fee to park is $6. Be sure to read the signs as some of the spots are reserved for permit parking. They have machines where you can pay to park by space number, however my uncle paid and still got a ticket. You can purchase train tickets at the ticketing machines near the platform. They do not have any ticket agents available. A roundtrip ticket to/from NY Penn was about $20. The price of course varies depending on your destination. It was about $10 to go round trip to Newark Penn. The station has bike racks and lockers. I don't recall seeing any elevators, however they do have ramps to get to the train platform if you aren't able to use the stairs.

Decent train stop, relative to overall NJ Transit quality (read: NJ Transit is awful). Anyway, my family lives relatively close by, so I come here to steal one of their cars to do things like move, do errands, escape New York, etc etc. Heated room if it's cold, ugly aesthetics, and ever climbing ticket prices; but hey it's NJT what do you expect*. --------- *Hopefully not modernism, efficiency, or affordability, because if you are you'll be sorely disappointed.

Through this timeframe, Kevin communicated well and made sure that we got everything we needed transportation wise and more. My number one suggestion would be to ASK FOR ALEX AS YOUR DRIVER! The driver, Alex, was the real star of the show. My groomsmen and husband LOVED him! (They rode in the car lol.) Alex was prompt, kind, friendly, positive, and everything went seamlessly. (Mind you I had to change the pick up location 3x times due to different issues with the hotels that were of no fault to Tru Limo.) It rained outside and Alex made sure my dress never touched the ground and helped give ideas to our photographers of the perfect shots to take. Highly recommend working with them and even more highly recommend asking for Alex!
