Cowboy's Beef Brisket Sandwich and broccoli soup
    Ashley F.

This was a random lunch stop for me, I've never thought to go here but I'm so happy I found it. I had a quick Togo order. They have a lot of sandwich and salad options. I ordered the half sandwich and soup and with a drink it came to a little over 14 dollars. Both were so tasty so it was great that it was good and affordable. You order at the counter and they call your name when you order is done. It was efficient and although the line was long it went by quickly. The restaurant is open with lots of seating. Nothing too fancy but perfect for a quick work day lunch. I will definitely be back.

Rather busy during lunch rush, but efficient. Lots of catering / takeout orders going out the door a great sign! Soup was the highlight and will definitely come back.

Ate here for the first time today visiting the area. Food was quick and tasted great, and they had a little bit of everything. Will definitely be back

Tomato soup and The Crispy Cod Burger
    Amber H.

Ordered a cod sandwich and tomato soup and my friend ordered the chicken walnut salad sandwich. Food was amazing. The wait was a little long, and it was a little pricey but overall it was worth it. The dog theme decor was cute but it was a bit noisy for a lunch date. This place was packed at lunch, so I'd recommend ordering online if you're in a hurry. Would definitely order something again!

Dare I say this was the best fish burger I've eaten??! The crispiness and flakiness of the fish was perfect - and not too oily either, making it a fresh but filling option for a weekday lunch. Food comes quick and hot, and it's bang for buck at 10$ with a side (their other sandwiches are even less!). The couscous is a creative side which I appreciate. Portions are not skimped on and the brioche bun is yum. Next time I go I will try the chipotle clam chowder which is on their seasonal menu!

Pimento cheese & Mushroom sandwich. Pretty big portion sizes!

Love the atmosphere very relaxed, fast casual restaurant. They have a real love of dogs which is the entire decor in the restaurant including real pictures of dogs and painted pictures of dogs. You even get a free cookie if you bring in a photo of your dog! The staff was extremely friendly and they have a variety of sandwiches, homemade soups, and salads. Including both vegetarian and one vegan sandwich. The food was just mediocre. Not bad by any means but nothing too special. I got the pimento cheese and mushroom sandwich paired with a salad that had spinach and artichoke in it. The salad was pretty good, I loved that it had huge chunks of shaved Parmesan cheese in it.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie - must have!

Great place, great food, great service! Stopped in here to grab a quick bite with my son who works nearby. The line was looong but moved very quickly so please don't let that stop you from experiencing the very fresh and yummy food! I had the half tuna on marble rye toast and their roasted squash soup. My son had the brisket sandwich with a corn and butter bean side salad. We ended with the chocolate peanut butter pie which is to die for!!!

Hands down one of the few "everything is good" cafes you will find. Great vegetarian and seafood options! The apple cider was so rich and flavorful! Sandwiches and soups are to die for! I don't have much else to say besides, get out and try this local business. You won't regret it!

Creative dishes, a bit over priced not much taste to their food. I would like to see more food in the plate for the price expected to pay.

As you enter there is a sign that tells you to go look at the menu board, pick out your drink, and go back to the counter to order. I grabbed a diet coke, and ordered a Common Cobb. I was a bit surprise when my total came to $18, as my salad was only $14 but I guess I should have paid attention that my bottle of soda was over $3. How much are the fountain drinks, I wonder? I found us a table inside since it was a bit hot that day (there is also plenty of seating outside AND inside if you go downstairs). The table and floor were messy but someone quickly came to clean it for me. They called our names over the loudspeaker and my best friend went to go get our food. She got the MotherClucker. Our food was REALLY good. If you like Cobb salad, you will definitely like this one. The chicken was pan seared perfectly, the vinaigrette was perfectly tangy and the bleu cheese was especially excellent. My friend's chicken sandwich has SO MUCH chicken salad on it. Impressive. There was so many neat items to see in the place. The murals were great, there were some cute retail spaces, a coffee bar up front, a bar downstairs, and ice cream outside! Unfortunately my bestie and I had too much to talk about so we didn't check it out as much as I otherwise wood. I would definitely try this place again!

The place was packed on a Monday at lunch (but it was Memorial Day). You check out the menu, then get your chips and drink and pay at the register, then they call your name at the counter when your food is ready. They have a great assortment of drinks- soft drinks, sparkling water, ollipop, kombucha, also alcoholic drinks downstairs. They have a separate coffee bar and ice cream window, as well. We got sandwiches and fries. The fries were nice and hot, but needed salt- I'd probably skip them and go for chips in the future. The sandwiches were nice and not too expensive for 2025 lol. I had to add some condiments to mine, but that's definitely better than having them use too many condiments and not be able to eat your sandwich. My husband enjoyed his sandwich too (and added more condiments). The ambiance is really cool. If you sit upstairs you have a great view of the whole place and you can people-watch. The cashier was very nice and explained to us how everything worked. There was also someone who came around to check on us after we'd gotten our food, so that was nice to feel like staff/management care that you're having a good experience. Would definitely go back!

This place is REALLY hard to find... it's behind the State Farm building, but there's barely any signage from the street. (Note: some photos here in Yelp seem to be from an older location.) We actually came one Saturday, but it was unexpectedly closed, but we caught them the following one, so good to call and confirm before driving over. You walk up to a door on the back, and scan a QR code to see the menu. Then knock on/ open the door and someone will come to take your order. Then you wait outside and they bring you your sandwiches. The lady who took our order was very friendly. The kitchen was rather large, so I suspect it's used for more than just this business. We ordered two turkey subs-- the East New York (which was slightly spicy) and the Dumbo. Wait time was maybe 7-10 minutes or so. Both sandwiches came nicely wrapped, and I think total cost was a little over $20. And conveniently, they take Apple Pay. These were not your Subway or Quiznos sandwiches-- these were DELICIOUS pressed sandwiches (we got them on focaccia. I personally liked the Dumbo the best-- it had a nice mix of flavors that meshed well. The East New York was solid and had a nice spiciness, but not quite as exciting overall. Would I come back? Probably, but since there's no seating, and it's a bit awkward, maybe not the first place I'd think to try, but again, the sandwiches were REALLY good. I do think it may be excellent for catering or for getting picnic sandwiches though.

The frittata I had did the trick but I really enjoyed the follow up items of the biscuit and the polenta lime cookies with my coffee afterwards as well. Very helpful and friendly service. The Deets: I looked on my trusty Yelp app to see about a good place to catch breakfast before going to the Durham Amtrak station to start a Saturday of adventure with some friends. I found Alimentari at Mothers & Sons and saw that their weekend brunch started at 9am, perfect. I had experienced a wonderful dinner at the main Mothers & Sons right next door to Alimentari so I had a good vibe coming into trying it out. The outside is pretty nondescript except Mothers & Sons on the windows. Upon entering, Alimentari gives a great casual but nice feel as a combination cafe and bistro type impression. I was greeted quickly and cheerfully with water and menus as the server took my drink order to start. I decided on this visit to go with the frittata with prosciutto, caramelized onions, and Caciocavallo cheese. I liked this choice a lot, perfect portion and delicious but I wish I had more of the prosciutto flavor coming through. Throughout this meal, my servers were very positive, helpful, and always made sure I had what I needed. I decided to investigate the pastries items I saw on their bar. There are pinwheels they have on a plate they offer as a free treat, I sampled one and liked it a lot. The large cookies under the glass cake cover caught my eye. My servers described the polenta and lime cookies that were one of the selections and I had to go with those with some coffee, as well as trying one of their plain biscuits from the menu. The biscuit was large, still warm, and baked perfection (not overbaked or underdone). I would not call it a strictly "Southern style biscuit" but it was delicious and I think I would love one here with sausage and egg on future visits. I could have done with less salt on the top though, again a small thing to me. The polenta and lime cookies were a great surprise, I enjoyed these a lot with my coffee and so glad I tried them...very soft and flavorful with just a hint of crunch here and there from the polenta. I recommend them to round off your brunch experience here. I'd say 4.5 stars for food but the great service I received while here rounds them up to an even 5 stars, good breakfast/brunch stop!
