Cool spot, sessions are pretty affordable. My brother practiced his Dj set he had for a gig. Pioneer board and was on point. Smoke-free space, drinks ok as long as you're not too close to the sound systems (which is fair). They only have one stool available in the room. Wish we could control the temperature setting of the room because it was frosty asf in there. The space is small but i wish they had extra seats ppl could bring into the room stored somewhere or provided 2 per room. read more

I need to start leaving reviews. But let me start off by saying ignore the bad ones. This is a great spot to go anytime of day to rehearse or rent a producer room. I've been coming for years before they started upping the price. Now it's hard to get a rehearsal spot from all the promotions pirate doing so it's brought in a certain crowd that's tagging up the place. Be ready to just bring your own extra equipment whether it's cables or microphones cause they don't have anyone to help you out. It's basically self check in but IMO it's bad ass still we've never had an issue except for their AC not working at times. Pirate hooks you up with deals and promos if you have an account online with them so it comes in clutch sometimes when you just want your own space to get out the house and focus on your music. I'm serious about the promos, I've gotten 8hr sessions for mad cheap just from discounts or referring people to sign up. Parking is a little hassle but once you know your way around and figure out the busier times of the day you'll know when to book your session. Night or early morning is always the best there ain't many people. Again, don't let those few bad reviews turn you away. Some people act all extra about anything now a days read more

You can't record vocals here at all despite it being a recording studio. The rooms are horribly sound proofed and the bleed in from the other room is wild. Don't waste your time here. read more

Needed a place to practice drums, and this place has several rooms with full kits at a reasonable price. They're not in great shape, but I wouldn't really expect them to be. I'll admit it's hard to write this review cuz I want to keep this best known secret all to myself. However I know that would not be fair to all the other musicians and DJs looking for affordable, reliable, and outstanding rehearsal studio space. Another confession is I'm speaking from my experience as a DJ utilizing one of many CDJ mixer controller equipment studios. But I'm guessing their excellent customer experience is across the board. First of all, everything is done remotely. The only interaction with another person maybe with security. Otherwise you're given the keys to the castle via codes. Which made me feel like I'm going to my office to work. Secondly the equipment and sound system is mint. Never had any issues. The only observation was some ahole didn't clean up their mess of white powder all over the decks. I arrived before the cleaning crew early morning and notified them once they arrived. This place is no good. Much of the gear advertised as being available in our "pro" rehearsal room rental wasn't there, including guitar amps and microphones. Of course, they can't do anything about it, because no human being is actually on site, and you have to go through this corporate AI chat bot to get in touch with anyone. There were no other rooms available, so we were stuck with what we had. They offered to refund half of our session, but will only do Pirate credit, which isn't helpful as I don't plan to come back. read more

My band had rehearsals at both SIlverlake and West Adams studios, and both sucked! Tiny plywood clad rooms. There are NO HUMAN BEINGS to help you if you need anything. You need about three different door codes to get to your room. That is not an exageration. The Silverlake studio has a floor plan that must have been designed by someone who really hates musicians because you have to be a three dimensional chess player to find where you are going. You will spend the first hour of your rehearsal complaining about the studio with your band. Oh -- no air conditioning or ventilation. Pirate studios is a dystopian nightmare. Pirate.com -- surprise surprise -- is a global corporation with studios around the world. Find an independently owned and run studio that has human beings working at a front desk. Pirate is the worst place to rehearse if you have any issues with the studio setup. The A/C did not work in multiple rehearsal rooms. When I asked for support via the chat Miles said he would not call anyone to go and fix the problem. Lost 1 hour of rehearsal time and had to practice in a 87F degree room. There was no other options for the day to change where we would practice so we had to deal with it. They would not even give a discount or refund for the space. Worst customer service ever. Go somewhere else if your band needs to rehearse. Customer service and caring a complete zero. read more

Full honest review one of the best rehearsals spaces/private recording studio I have been too at first I had a some things that weren't turning on in the room but everything got fixed right away when I asked for help. Incredible value! Extremely safe and private. I booked a studio session for their dj setup. Industry standard cdjs, and mixer. The room has really fun light set up. I had master set pretty low and the monitors were perfect. I can't wait to book for producing purposes. I had a lot of fun, all the amenities, there was hand sanitizer different areas, restrooms etc. Only thing lacking was parking but it's LA so? I would highly recommend booking if you need to prepare for a gig, for fun, you want to see your your tracks play out etc. I was minutes away from booking another session right after. We had a great experience rehearsing at the Silver lake location! The entire building is very clean and our rehearsal space (room 15) was perfect for a 3 piece band! Fully equipped with guitar and bass amps as well as a full drum set (including cymbals). The staff was very helpful and professional and the live chat option on the website works like a well-oiled machine! Super fast responses and no need to get on the phone with anyone. We have rehearsed in a lot of spaces around the county, and Pirate studios has some of the best facilities we've ever seen. Very easy to book and extremely helpful staff. While the studios are somewhat acoustically treated and the available equipment is decent, there is one HUGE problem if you're looking to record here... None of the studios, including the rehearsal spaces, are soundproofed. Today was my first and last visit to the studios. I walked into Studio 7 at the Silver Lake location and closed the door behind me. All I heard from INSIDE the studio was the drummer in the drum rehearsal room down the hall. It was SO loud. When I called support to figure out if anything could be done, they were even able to hear it through the phone. There's no way anything recorded then and there would have been usable. Honestly, I don't know how they could have built this place and thought that would be okay. It's kind of like "studio" and "audio recording" 101. I can see this place being great if you need some rehearsal spaces. But, in regards to being a project studio where you can come and record vocals and make music, NO WAY. Go to a real recording studio or figure out a decent set up at home. read more

However to claim to be a recording/podcasting space and not actually have sound proof walls is the most counter intuitive business model I've come across. Please do better - I can hear a band rehearsing all the way down the hall through the door of the room I rented out to do a voiceover audition. I got no work done in the hour that I booked. First time user here. Needed something last minute, it was local and there was a great Black Friday discount deal. I really liked the place. The gates and door code entrances also added to the safety factor. I've been renting "by-the-hour" rehearsal rooms all over the world and this place is up to par. 5 stars for cleanness and easy online booking and payment. The only reason for why I only give it 4 stars is the fact that there was an excessive amount of people walking in and out of the doors and hanging out on the parking lot and hallways. Maybe because it was a Saturday but its obvious that a lot of people there was there to party and drink. I don't really have a problem with that but when you see 15-20 random people constantly stepping in and out of a room rented by a DJ. People that didn't have the entry codes were just jumping in when they got the chance. That kind of makes people with expensive gear paranoid. Parking is limited so its kind of unfair that the party goers take all the parking spots :( While I had no issue with uploading a copy of my ID and a selfie, I find it weird that some sort of personel list wasn't required.
