I found this rehearsal studio through an Instagram ad a few days ago in late September 2024. I called about rates and I was told to book through the website. I went on the booking platform and reviewed the rehearsal room options. Room E for the "solo drummer" option came out to a total of $4/hr. I booked several sessions from the last week of September up until Oct 1st 2024. Not once was it brought to my attention before, during or even after sessions until Oct 1st when upon finishing up and getting ready to leave I was approached confrontationally by an agitated staff member who said that I needed to pay up a difference in balance because the room actually cost a different price. I said I paid the advertised rate on the website, it was charged to my card and I have the receipts to prove it. A second staff member was there witnessing the interaction and seemed more understanding about the situation. I ultimately said that unless it was expressed via written or electronic form beforehand I am not liable for mistakes on their booking platform. Legally the service had already been paid for, rendered and concluded. The confrontational staff member acquiesced and told the other co-worker that he was told by someone to get payment. The method of approach was effectively coercion and I felt the attempt to intimidate via body language and verbage. I left and about 15 minutes later I received an email from the owner Brent effectively and directly telling me to look for another studio and that any future bookings would get canceled and refunded. After dealing with rude goons at Audio Rents, this company was a breath of fresh air. Needed to rent some audio equipment for an event. Needed for Saturday but was able to pick up Friday afternoon and return Sunday afternoon and got a one day rate. Got a pair of speakers, speaker stands, a mini mixer, wireless mic set, and all necessary cables for a very reasonable price, and wound up paying a little less than anticipated. Equipment is a bit on the older side and a little beat up (scratches, basic wear and tear) but everything worked perfectly and sounded great which matters way more than cosmetics. I'm not an audio whiz so Brent, who was away when I arrived, rushed back and showed me how to hook everything up properly so I didn't have any issues at the event. Able to park in the back or alley to load up - staff helped me with the heavy equipment too. If you need a short term rental, I definitely recommend Brent's studio. read more

DO NOT SUPPORT THIS BUSINESS, PLEASE READ THIS FIRST my bf decided to rehearse here for the first time yesterday, he called LA Rehearsal at 10am to book a room and they quoted him $15/hr for a small room, he told them I would be joining but I dont play an instrument which they were okay with. when we showed up at 7:30pm, the employee told him that they would be switching him to a bigger room because they had double booked the small room. as soon as we walk into the room I immediately notice how dirty it looks and I decide to not sit on the couch because it looked like it had been found in an alleyway, there were stains and tears all over it and it looked gross overall. actually, the whole room looked like that with graffiti and stains all over the walls too. after our 2 hours were up and we proceed to pay, my bf mentions the Yelp discount to which he responds "you have to pre-book your room ahead of time for that offer" which we did at 10am....anyway, he refuses to honor the discount on their yelp page and tells him it's $36 for the 2 hours and my bf tells him he was quoted $15 on the phone and he tells him its more because I was there so I told him I didn't play an instrument and he tells me "it's policy" then he continues telling my bf that he got a big room which is usually quoted at $24/hr implying that he should be grateful he's getting it at $18/hr even though my bf didnt need a big room and they put him there because, again, they double booked the small room. this guy did not honor the discount on the yelps business page and he had the nerve to tell us all of this bullshit and overcharge us, we will never be coming back here and anyone who is reading this should stay away too. read more

We wanted to have a movie night with my family of three and my parents, but outside with distance due to Covid, so a friend recommended using a rental company to rent a screen, projector, and speakers. We found LA Rehearsal and setup a rental with them. Not only was it overpriced, but the equipment didn't end up working properly. A young assistant came and hooked everything up and it seemed to work fine, but once we went to turn on the movie the sound no longer worked. We contacted Brent directly and he came out to fix it. It took a bit of time as things weren't working for him either. We even switched our laptops but then the visual wasn't working. After fiddling some more he finally got it fixed for which we were very thankful for (hence the 2 stars). However, at that point it was much later than we had wanted to start a movie with a 7 year old. When we inquired about a discount due to a less than positive experience he responded with an exclamatory no and blamed it on our computer vs. his equipment. His lack of good customer service spoke more to me than him declining a refund. read more

We rocked out for a few hours last night wrote some new music and had a mellow time practicing we might be back if we don't end up getting another lock out! If I could give zero stars I would. Just had a rehearsal there tonight. Acoustics are bad, all the other rehearsal places bleed through so badly you lose track of where you are within your own tune, I just wish that was where this review ends...It's not. As we were leaving, we carried our equipment out and I had left my iphone on the music stand in the studio, so I ran back to grab it. The owner Brent and his assistant had moved out the music stand and the phone was gone. There was really no way to miss it as it was sitting in plan sight on the music stand. I asked Brent where the phone was and he replied, "What phone." Now my phone is always tuned on, always. So, I called it and it immediately went to voice mail, which is a sign it had been turned off. Someone, either Brent or his assistant had seen the phone sitting there and decided to add it to their collection, so they grabbed it, turned it off and hid it away. I called the police who wouldn't come unless I had actually seen one of them take it, so Brent and I had a few choice words and I left. The rehearsal space was $45 and my phone was almost $500, which is just a bit too much money for 3 hours of rehearsal, don't you think? No, this place sucks, and they steal your property. You can do MUCH better! And by The way, the reviewer Danny D who gave the place 5 stars is an employee. Brent B is the owner who has also given it 5 stars. My band decided to switch our rehearsal spot to this place since the last place we rehearsed decided to screw up our reservations a few times. This place is a rehearsal space that was I believe converted from a medical office (of the herbal kind), in which you can tell by the Kush Life magazines that keep getting delivered there. So since it was recently converted, it's always in a state of construction. As for the most important part, rehearsal and quality of backline. This is the part that will probably suck as they seem to shuffle and switch setups constantly. Usually the mixing board and hookups are set to stupid levels, but that may be more in part of idiotic people/bands that leave it at those levels beforehand, but I digress. My other band members refer to it like an 'equipment junkyard,' as one day you'll get a crappy amp, one day a better one, another a mediocre one. The very first time we rehearsed here the wiring was so shot that we would hear that annoying low tone buzz that came from somewhere. Even though the place is mediocre, there were a few reasons why we spent a few months practicing here, which was friendliness and attention from staff. Although the cronies that work here may have strange appearances, they are very nice and accommodating. Whatever you need, they'll get it for you in a jiffy or figure something out. Also if you go over time, they are not jerks about it (will let you continue for a bit if no one is coming in after you), and will generally be very flexible about scheduling. The other nice thing was the availability of parking, as it has a lot where you could tandem park with other cars. If the lot was full, it was usually not too difficult to find street parking. And if you are parked tandem, the guy in charge will let you know when you are blocking someone or will offer to switch your spot if you trust him with your keys so you can continue practicing. But the unreliability of equipment has finally come to a point in which we will be searching for a new place to rehearse. read more

Great staff, and really cool at working with the band and opening after hours. Brent is the coolest dude. Don't listen to the bad reviewers. Yes, sound bleeds from the other room, that is if the guy next door is playing at 11! Same thing as in other studios. They accept cash and credit cards. The staff is always ready to bring you what you need. And it is extremely reasonably priced. My band rehearses there all the time. I don't know why some people are so bitchy. read more

Had to hit up this spot a little while back because we couldn't jam at someone's house and on short notice this place was pretty decent. It is very conveniently located in Hollywood on the edge of little Armenia. Right off the 101 freeway in the heart of it all. Little in the way of parking around the place which can suck if you show up before any of the people that run the facility show up. Once they open the place you can park inside. The rooms they have are small. The acoustics aren't that great. I could only hear half the guitar and the bass about twice as much. Something weird about it. They have amps and a drum kit so all you have to do is bring cymbals and the guitars. The staff is nice and their rates are very reasonable if split among the band members. Still can't get over the acoustics of the room, might want to bring monitors for yourselves. read more

My friends rehearsed there tonight, they let me hear it. They were suffering from noise bleed from the other rooms. Their floor was vibrating from the bass and noise and they were doing an acoustic set so it was pretty bad. Then at the end they went to pack their equipment and came back and my friends Iphone 4 was gone. The owner Brent had moved the stand it was on and it was gone! A 500 dollar Iphone ! They immediately phoned her Iphone because she never shuts it off but it went directly to voicemail.. The creep had shut it off . If you want your stuff stolen by all means rehearse there. Don't do any business with Brent (owner) don't even get close to this guy. I ordered sound system for a big event from this company and spoke to the owner Brent directly a week before the event then he emailed a contract and I replied to confirm. The order was for 9:00 am Sunday morning and no one showed up. At 9:52 am Brent send me this massage. "Good morning - Please let me know if you still need the sound system today. Please call me @ 323-646-0912 or send me your phone number. Thanks Brent - 323-646-0912" I called and said yes of course I been waiting for them since 9:00 am and told them event is starting soon please send someone ASAP. He said someone be there in 45 minutes. An hour and half later a guy by name Jonathan showed up in very mad and bitter mood. He ask me where I want the speakers to be set up and I told him. 10 minutes later he lets me he does not enough wires and other needed equipment with him and he is packing his stuff to leave. He said "I'm not getting paid enough to put up with this" I told him the event starting in less than an hour and I be happy to use whatever he can set up. He didn't care and packed and left. Meanwhile I called and text Brent few times and he didn't pick up on me. Jonathan also told me "Brent said I can leave if I want to". So literary they left me without sound system for a big event with hundreds of attendees. Luckily I got someone else for sound system so I was fine but what Brent and his mad employ did was so disgusting and sickening. Brent is a dishonorable person who wouldn't care about you. I was just looking for a place to jam nothing major and this place was perfect. The attendents are great and help you out with whatever you need. I have no complaints whatsoever but if you do have a band the acoustic are not that great as the previous reviews have stated but still worth a try. Oh and they're not pissy about bringing in drinks. Extremely disappointing-These guys showed up after our scheduled meeting this AM. I will give the owner/manager credit for being honest in telling me that he basically dropped the ball on our order, but still...quite embarrassing after letting the bosses know they would have a PA system and I didn't deliver. From my personal experience, the staff is friendly, laid back, and helpful. I forgot my own speaker cables and they were more than happy to lend me a set. They provide back-line gear. PA, guitar cabs, guitar combo amps, bass amps, cables, mics etc. But I highly recommend you bring your own if you are a sound connoisseur. Their prices are much more reasonable than their competitors. There is always parking here, I love that. There is a Jons market a block away for your snack needs :) If you can hang with their old school hood feel this place will definitely suit your rehearsal needs. read more

My band has been rehearsing at LA Rehearsal for 6 months now. We love this place. It's got a great vibe. The staff is super cool. Brent is always appreciative of our business and supportive of our music. Rocker John takes care of our equipment needs whenever is necessary and is a general badass. They have tons and tons of amps/cabs, pianos, mics/cables, etc.........anything you forget to bring, they have. Overall, I love the relaxed environment. I rented a projector, screen and powered speaker for a big birthday bash at a Downtown Los Angeles hotel and Quenton of "LA Projector Rentals" aka LA Rehearsal delivered the equipment, set it up and later Brent (the principal, I guess) picked it up at the end and it all worked out as per plan. The guys at LA Sound have done events for us on 3 separate occasions... all went really smooth with no hiccups. I gave them a call told Brent what I was looking for, he sent back some ideas for equipment and we settled on the right stuff for a good price. We've done both indoor and outdoor events around the west side and both parties had great sound... we've used Dj equipment twice and had a live band as well. I've rehearsed there a number of times in the past and the prices were fair, nice staff, good location, and clean rooms. So I was shocked at the condition now. For some reason they've let the place go. The lobby and rooms were extremely cluttered and very dirty. we were tripping over ourselves trying to set up around the mess of cables, guitars and equipment we didn't need. We could have handled it except for the fact that when I confirmed the room the night before, the employee neglected to mention that the A/C was broken. If I had been told that I could have booked at another hall until it was fixed and come back for future rehearsals. So when we got there and found out, we had no choice but to stay. I spoke to the manager. he said they were trying to get it fixed but there wasn't an offer to discount the rate for the inconvenience. With outside summer temperatures over 100, we were in a sweat lodge with no windows and a small fan. We asked for a 2nd fan that we got after another band left, and we took multiple breaks outside, but it was close to unbearable. One of my band members got so overheated he got sick on the car ride home. Great company all around. We had a private event and needed projectors, screens, PA and more. Brent came through in a big way and gave by far the best price in the city. I called probably 10 places in LA and he was substantially less than everyone else.. In most cases he was less than 50% of what other companies were charging! Plus he was very communicative, reachable, knowledgeable and flexible with drop off/set up, etc. His guys were great and they helped installing everything, picked it up after the event and all went well.
