I have been going to Pisces Salon for over 5 years so I'm overdue with writing a review! I usually go to Tania (also the owner), but honestly all the nail techs are amazing. Tania always takes care of me and does a great job! She pays extra attention to detail, consistently efficient with time, and always willing to do my creative and artistic designs. I usually get Gel X nails but they offer other nail services. Pisces Nail Salon is located in Sola Salons next to Target, so the location is fairly convenient with easier parking. I came in with an inspiration picture, and my nail tech absolutely brought the design to life while still making it look even better on my hands. The shaping is super clean and consistent, the application is smooth, and every nail has so much detail and personality without looking overcrowded. The pastel color palette is adorable, and I love how each nail has its own unique design, from the cute polka dots and buttons, to the little monkey she crafted and the soft plaid accents. I've been coming to this salon for the last 3 years for my nails. Pros: -They excel at designs here. You ever go to another salon and show them inspo and hold your breath not knowing if they'll be able to do it? Every tech here you can show your inspo pic to and it'll come out 10/10 looking like what you showed them. Tania is the best tech here IMO. She's always booked. I never have had a problem with nail designs or art. All of these women are skilled and super detailed. - Fast communication and response to messages. Any time I have questions or need to be accommodated whoever runs their IG profile is very helpful. Anytime I've ever not liked my nails or need a nail to be fixed I've been helped and it's been no charge. - Availability, I think that what's been keeps me coming back. My schedule is hectic and idk anywhere you can book a nail appointment the next day. Booking is easy and they are consistent with posting openings and schedules. -Salon, it's located in Sola Salons in Cypress. Plenty of parking and it's close to the entrance. Calm and quiet location and they are always playing good music (pop, top 40). There are 5 booths and 2 pedicure spa chairs. The salon is clean and always put together. Cons: -Gel X & Acrylic, this salon was the first time I tried Gel-x and I loved it. Faster application and in and out faster than acrylic. Lately, I've stopped getting gel-x just because I noticed a quality issue. Nails started popping off weekly and they were lifting. I work retail and am heavy handed, figured maybe it was just me? So I switched to acrylic and it was no longer losing nails. They're sturdier and I can go weeks with them all intact. I've gotten acrylic application with Angel and Rachel. I wouldn't recommend this salon for acrylic application. I've experienced little to no nail or cuticle prep prior to tip application by Rachel. I mention it during the service and it's acknowledged and then my cuticles are cut once my service is finished. The acrylic application technique is what leaves me dissatisfied the last 2x I've been here. The time and effort into shaping isn't there. I've had curved tips and straight tips applied and I'm either left with curved down almond cat claws or straight tips that point to the sky. Thick and clumpy edges on square long nails with thick nail apexes and nail concentration. -Overbooking, appointments run back to back here and the appointment after you will show up while you're still in the chair. Or you show up at your appointment time and have a small wait in the lobby. Which is why I think the quality of service has gone down. read more

I called the day of and asked for any last minute cancellations since there weren't any online and I was fit in. I only waited about 15-20 mins which wasn't bad and i expected a bit of a wait since I was the one who decided last min to try to be fit in. I was assigned Vy and I have nothing but POSITIVE things to say! First let me start off by stating that I would go to regular nail salons constantly asking for builder gel and was always told no and that I should do poly gel since it would last longer due to my nail length. I have tried three different salons in Cerritos, Los Alamitos and Cypress and I was never satisfied with my nails. They always look thick and uneven. I showed Vy an inspo pic of a light pinkish base with a milky French tip, something that looked more subtle than an actual bright white French tip and she delivered just that. Vy took her time perfecting the shape, cleaned up my cuticles, and was very detailed it did not feel rushed at all. I was honestly so shocked at how much I loved it here on the first visit. My nails look even, elegant and neat, I will 100% keep coming back. The only reason I am giving this place 4 stars is because I also got a pedicure. I got the deluxe with gel and chrome powder which turned out to be $85. It was just okay..I did not feel like it was worth $85. The gel application on my toes was fine but the package itself just consisted of 2-3 different scrubs and a callous treatment which I feel like didn't do much. I would skip the deluxe and just stick to a regular pedicure. read more

I paid a deposit yesterday upon booking my nail appt. The charge of a deposit in advance really threw me but they claim to be "so busy" a deposit is required. I woke up today with a fever, bad cough and other symptoms of Covid. (I immediately texted the salon by 8:45AM) My appt was scheduled for 2pm - I contacted the nail salon to simply reschedule as I had already paid and woke up sick. I was told I either show up at 2 today or my deposit would be kept and no "last minute reschedules" are allowed. I should have known this place wasn't quality when they made me wait 30 minutes until after my last appointment, the nail tech I was assigned cut me several times and didn't even acknowledge me when I asked her to try and be a touch gentler as she was making me bleed... I wouldn't waste your time with this business. Making someone pay a deposit and not stipulate you're not allowed to reschedule or cancel isn't a reputable business. They're just money hungry borderline scamming people out of money. $20 or not for a lot of people $20 is gas, $20 food I could go on and on but hey, guess this "thriving" business really needed that $20. ***update - the staff at this salon took the liberty of sending me these unprofessional texts*** read more

I visited this salon about a year ago and really liked my nails, so I said I'd return whenever I had a nail art design I wanted to recreate. I made an appointment last month with Angel, and we decided to do Gel-X after discussing nail length. During the appointment, I was a bit unsure about the design, so as a technician, I expected her professional input and suggestions, which are usually part of the service. However, she wasn't very forthcoming and seemed rushed and uninterested in my experience. The part that truly upset me was when she visibly showed her frustration to the point that I had to address it directly. Afterward, I reached out to the manager, who said he would check the camera footage and get back to me, but I never heard back. The next day, I followed up asking for a refund or at least the removal of the set. Instead, I was told, "It doesn't work like that," and that he didn't want to "disturb his employee," so I'd have to wait until Monday, which is a terrible response for customer service. Weeks later, I reached out again to request the removal (which Angel herself had said would be complimentary) and to follow up on my original complaint. I still didn't receive any update or apology. Instead, the manager accused me of "taking advantage of their service" and told me they would no longer accommodate me, then blocked me. To make things worse, about five days after the appointment, part of my nail chipped. The quality has clearly declined since my first visit. Customers are being rushed in and out, and the experience no longer feels valued or cared for. I even tipped the technician out of kindness despite the poor experience, but the way this was handled was completely unprofessional. If you live far away, or even near, it's no longer worth the trip. The quality, professionalism, and respect for customers have gone downhill. read more
