Now as an adult I have to get braces again and they're also recommending jaw surgery. It's crazy to me that my bite could be so problematic and he took my braces off just like that without addressing the problem. My teeth sit directly on top of each other - no overbite but no clear underbite either. If he did not suggest pulling my upper premolars, my upper palate probably wouldn't be as tiny as it is and this wouldn't be as much of a problem. Also I remember this guy being so terribly rude. He thinks because he works with kids he can just say whatever he wants. I had many healthcare providers as a child and as an adult and I remember only hating this dude of all my doctors. He was awful. Do not recommend at all. I suspect I have grounds for a lawsuit but the statute of limitations is probably surpassed.

My daughter was freaked about being called brace face, metal mouth, or any number of names kids will use and I was kind of freaked about the pain she'd be in and the cost. Dr. Newman put us at ease quickly as he explained everything to us about what she would need - palette expander then a couple-three years of braces- and this for a kid whose teeth weren't really that bad. Dr. Newman's staff, and his waiting room, are awesome...I mean how many doctors' offices have an arcade video game in them...especially ones with great 80s and 90s arcade games?!? Anyway, throughout the last 3 1/2 years or so Dr. Newman continued to be as great as he was during that first visit and our daughter's teeth look absolutely great. She had a couple of days of pain throughout the process, usually from the major adjustments, but my daughter is very happy with the results. I wish I could get her to wear her retainers like Dr. Newman wants her to, but that's another story...

Unfortunately, I have a small mouth (thanks mom and dad) and growing up, I ended up having a majority of my teeth extracted in order to ensure ample and adequate space in my mouth for my permanent teeth to grow in correctly. As a young kid, this experience isn't necessarily the most comfortable or welcoming--and Dr. Malecz made it that much ​worse. One time, he extracted 6 of my teeth instead of the 2 that I was told were going to be pulled, without telling me. Another time, he gave me a shot of Novocain for 4 teeth I was having extracted and did not wait for the Novocain to set (as mandated for use) and ended up pulling my teeth straight away. 4 teeth pulled with little to no numbness. My mom says she knew right away that the Novocain​ hadn't set in and that I was screaming bloody murder and he had no care in the world. That was the last time we were there. As a pediatric dentist, you would think his attitude would be more welcoming and comforting than not. He speaks in an extremely condescending tone and continuously talks down to you during the appointment. I am 21 years old and still struggle with going to the dentist because of the traumatic experiences I have had at this practice. Please, I'm asking all the parents out here, to NOT force your kids to continue going to a doctor that continuously makes them uncomfortable and scared. It's not worth it.

The roots are being absorbed and she acknowledged this painful. I shared with the dentists the pain and that Tylenol and Aleve no longer work, I can't eat and the pain keeps me Up all night. He suggested Aleve (I just said that quit being effective months ago). In addition the appt was a week out. The staff provided no options nor connection to speak further to the dentist.
