Corny and cliche but surprisingly fun! A great place to take out-of-towners, but also a surprisingly fun date nite for locals. The actors are great and I love that the show has been family owned and operated for 30+ years. With their stunts, cheesy laughs and a fair amount of pyrotechnics and water splashes, this show is better than any I've seen in more traditional cowboy shootout shows (including those in Tombstone). read more

Seriously. Most entertaining 30 minutes I've seen this year. And it's the week after the Superbowl. Not for the faint of heart. Or the easily offended. Get there early for a good seat, stage left center is best. And bring cash. Tipping might keep you from getting shot. Or worse. Just because it says here than I'm giving the show 5 stars, in truth, I would give them six. They know why. read more

Brought some out of town guests for the show. We all loved the cheesy humor, creepy old west set for Halloween, and pretty amazing stunts! We all had smiles and hurt cheeks and tummy's from laughing. For those with sensitive ears, consider ear plugs. read more

This is one of Tucson's great activities and a fantastic value. The shows are expertly done by professional stunt performers and actors. They are funny, loud, and perfect family entertainment. My grandparents from Missouri were in town so I suggested dinner and a show since my boys love the "cowboy show" as they call it. We have been here many times before and its always a good time. We had family visiting from out of state, and they wanted to experience a Wild West show. After a quick online search, we discovered the Pistoleros show, and I'm so glad we did. From start to finish, we were absolutely captivated by the incredible stunts performed by the Woods family. The special effects had us jumping out of our seats. My 15-year-old nephew even declared it the best Western show he's ever seen, and I couldn't agree more. It really is the best I've seen and I love how fast paced it is with corny jokes sprinkled in. They have a different show every time we've been there and the actors are so good at their characters! We all LOVED every one of the Pistoleros shows that we've seen. We alway take visitors to Pinnacle Peak and treat them to the Pistoleros show. We're an action-packed Wild West Stunt Show featuring high-impact stunts, explosion effects, gunfights, cowboy-style fist fights and hilarious comedy on our authentic Old West set on the wild side of Trail Dust Town. The Pistoleros Stunt Show can be seen Friday through Sunday at 7:00 and 8:00 PM (closed Easter, Thanksgiving and Christmas day), with a special discount night show at 7:00 PM on Thursdays! The show runs 30 minutes and provides bleacher seating. This is an outdoor show, and subject to weather permitting. Loud noises may frighten small children. Admission ranges from $8.50-$15 depending on the season. Discounts available when ordering online. Tickets can be purchased online at our website.

History

Established in 1997.

In 1997, the Pistoleros, originally called the "Dragoon Street Players" on Dragoon Street, performed their first show, "Killer Miller". Starring present day Pistolero, Jerry Woods, the show grew to include Hollywood style stunts, impressive special effects, and top-notch actors and writers. In 2009, the show changed its name to "The Pinnacle Peak Pistoleros" in honor of their benefactor, Pinnacle Peak Steakhouse. In May 2020, due to the financial hardships endured during the Coronavirus crisis, Trail Dust Town cancelled the show permanently. The Woods family, with gracious support from their fans, and Trail Dust Town, started their own business to keep the shows going! With a much smaller crew, budget, and income, "The Pistoleros Wild West Show" was born. The mission remains the same. To provide high-quality, action-packed, wholesome entertainment that keeps the spirit of the old west alive for the delight of all ages!

Meet the Business Owner: Jerry W.

With years of stunt experience under his belt, and a love for the Old West, Jerry started the show in1997 under the ownership of Trail Dust Town. In 2020 due to the financial losses from CoViD, the show was cancelled permanently. Jerry, who had run the show for 23 years with the help of his wife, Heather, and son, Noah, wasn't ready to let the show go. So, he started his own company, adding "Business Owner" to his current title of "Artistic Director" of the Pistoleros Wild West Show. Jerry also continues to perform in the show every weekend, as well as holding down a full-time job as an electrician. With the help of his family and crew, Jerry hopes to continue providing Tucson with the joy and thrills that the stunt show brings to audiences of all ages.

We've been going to The Pistoleros regularly, and it's become one of our favorite things to do as a family. It's a locally owned stunt show, and you can feel the heart they put into it every time. My 4-year-old son has a season pass, and he absolutely loves it. The shows are fun, interactive, and just the right mix of action and humor to keep kids engaged while still being entertaining for adults. It's one of those rare spots where you're not just watching--you're part of the experience. What stands out the most is how consistent they are. We've been multiple times, and it never feels repetitive. The performers are great with the kids, and you can tell they genuinely care about creating a good experience for families. If you're looking for something different to do with your kids--especially if you want something local and not overly commercial--this is it. It was unfortunately really hot in the theater and not sure if they don't have AC or it was down, but the only area that was cool was by the front doors, not in the main place where the show was held. We came in on a game show day. The actors tried their best, but it just was really one note, lackluster and not funny, at least to us. It seemed like there could have been more of a mix between more advanced actors vs newbies/students...or at least it seemed that way. They did take audience recommendations, like Who's Line, and that helped keep us engaged. Things seemed to drag on, otherwise, and we wished there was more creativity, quickness and wit displayed. We tried this place out and it's just not for us.

It was a student showcase and the theatre was full. After the student showcase was an Improv Troupe, I forget their name. They were good but I lost interest after about 10 minutes of the same game. The cost is reasonable at $5 plus the cost of refreshments which are available in the lobby. We lucked out and found parking in front. Others in our group parked down the street but it didn't seem to be difficult to find a space. I love supporting local theatre and would definitely go again.

Parking and walking was easy. We bypassed the crowd by arriving about 10 minutes before the start of the show, so both the line to check-in and the bar were short. As others have mentioned, there is a metal detector at check-in and there is a size limit on bag size. The ushers were super helpful and I was surprised to see they had booster seats, which I hadn't considered brining. I am glad they offer them, it came in handy. The show itself was fantastic. The costumes were lovely, the screenplay was humorous, and the performances were all solid. We're not season ticket holders but are considering it for the future. Our daughter loved the show.

Still have to go through a metal detector, and only small bags are permitted. Shows usually have an intermission. Bathrooms can fill quick, especially at crowded shows. Parking is a ways off, but lots of restaurants on University drive.

Note 90% of the seats are sold out to subscribers so few remain on wknds for individual purchase. Also ALL the best seats (again 90% of the house) go to subscribers. GA folks get the ends and the back rows only. Arrive 30 min before showtime and you'll get a decent GA seat. But know this too: there are truly no bad seats in this house. The "back row" would be 9th row in any other venue... that's phenomenal. And the stadium rise is steep enough that you'll never be obstructed by the tall person directly in front of you :) Bathrooms are spacious and clean. Parking in their large free lot is a sweet bonus. Her strong voice was at times haunting but always beautiful. The lead actor who played Fela involved the audience with some dancing, clapping and several "yeah, yeah"s. So much fun!! It was fantastic to have Michelle Williams from Destiny's Child as part of the cast. A special shout-out to our Yelp CM Bella for scoring a few free tickets to this fabulous show. We easily found street parking by accident super close to the rodeo grounds, although they do offer parking for $10. We had bought our tickets a few weeks in advance online and I actually bought an extra ticket and I am glad I did as it is stand seating and very narrow so it gave us a bit more 'breathing room'. I was actually looking at the Vaquero Club seating but they were sold out so I imagine you need to buy these types of tickets well in advance. Our seats were great as we were in section B and directly in front of where all the action happens. It was fun watching the various events (barrel racing, roping, etc.) for both the Juniors and Adults. Lots of food, drink and retail type services within the rodeo grounds along with clean restrooms and friendly staff/volunteers.
