Stay Away, the billing in this office is horrendous. I had to pay for my orthotics up front and they said I would get reimbursed when my insurance company paid. My insurance company paid 2 days after my visit and here it is 9 months after the visit, and I still haven't been reimbursed. I have called the office 4 times and each time it's a different excuse. Computer updates, I will tell the Doctor, Doctor is out for a month because of surgery, call back the end of March. I find it hard to believe that someone isn't doing the billing while she is away. read more

Complete ripoff! The front desk takes your Medicare card, tells you no worries all is covered, bills Medicare then SURPRISE! You owe a huge out-of-pocket cash or credit card payment! Yeah, right! No thanks! STAY AWAY! read more

This doctor requires a $50 deposit to book any "procedure appointment". If you cancel your procedure weeks in advance, getting the refund will be a full time job! I'm still waiting more than 90 days later for my $50 refund. They will happily charge your credit card for the deposit, but they "can't refund your credit card". You must wait for "the biller" to write the refund check and mail it to you. You will never be able to speak to the biller or the doctor regarding this matter. The biller seems to have no problem billing the insurance for the visits within a week of the appointment, yet somehow is too busy to write the refund check. read more

I would not recommend going here! They charge $300+ for first time appointments when you have health insurance and you only should be charged a co-payment. It took two months for the issue to be resolved (I received money back from them) and then two months later a bill comes in from Pistone saying you now owe money. They do not know how to submit a claim to the health insurance provider, so frustrating! I wasted more time with my health insurance company and the person at Pistone billing department. read more

DO NOT VISIT THIS OFFICE!!! They will take your money! I have blue cross insurance and was told they can not charge a co-pay nor bill my insurance for the appointment visit, so they charge over $200 for the appointment. I was told I would be refunded if my insurance covered the visit after I made the payment. I made the payment will full confidence of my insurance covered. They took over $200 from me, and then billed my insurance for over $300 which was almost 100% covered. As a result, I was owed over $100 in refund. I have made 4 phone calls to their office and been told multiple times that I would receive a follow up call from their office and/or their 3rd party billing office, as well as receive my refund. It has been almost 3 months since they billed my insurance and I have not yet been refunded. read more

Lack of personable communication. I would not recommend going here. I had an x-ray because I thought I broke a toe and during the appointment she didn't mention the X-ray once. She only wanted to know who my previous doctor was and was trying to get me into inserts,which I already had pairs. read more

This place is a bit shady. Instead of charging your insurance and collecting your co pay they charge you 275.00 upfront. They also perform unnecessary tests before even finding out why you came in. I would stay clear as it seems they are in it to get as much as they can from the insurance and not focusing on patient care. read more

Dr. Pistone and her staff are wonderful. From the moment I stepped in the door I was impressed with the office and staff. I received a warm, professional greeting from the front office upon entry. Dr. Pistone's assistant was extremely efficient, personable and professional. I have been to numerous foot doctor's, my first surgery was over 40 years ago, and this was a very informative visit. I received a thorough exam and information was presented in a caring and thoughtful manner. The office was immaculate and decorated in a warm professional style. I went to at least two meetings to have my feet fitted for shoes. When the shoes arrived with the insert created by the doctor, they were too large. The foot imprint was OK but the insert extended beyond the foot and heel. When I tried to walk in the shoes, they would flip flop at the heel regardless of how I tied the shoes. The insert was removed, at home, and I tried a flat insert and had the same problem. The shoes were just too large at the heel. When I returned the shoes to the doctor, they offered me a flat insert. I refused it because it would not correct the wide shoe heel on my narrow heel. This had been an expensive project for my insurance company. I cannot recommend this project for anyone with a narrow heel. read more

Extremely thankful that I brought my son, age 12 to see Dr. Pistone. He was having pain in his feet and after a thorough examination- he left feeling and walking better! I wish I made his appointment when he was younger. All my boys are active with sports and I highly recommend if you have children who play sports - make an appointment with Dr. Pistone. I was not impressed at all.....from the front desk to the doctor. No thanks! I will not be going back. The medical assistant named Chelsea was good but that is the only compliment I would give this place. They asked for a ridiculous amount of money at check in, 5X my copay amount. When I refused and explained that is not how insurance works, they asked for a credit card to keep on file. The doctor told me I needed orthotics but did not tell me to bring shoes to my appointment so they could fit them to my shoe. Instead they scheduled a follow up visit for that sole purpose. This way they can charge insurance and me for another visit! read more

Dr. Pistone is very knowledgeable, patient, and down to earth. My wife went to see her after dealing with a foot issue for months. She worked with my wife and she made my wife feel really comfortable. I would HIGHLY recommend her to anyone. read more

I had my first appointment yesterday, 2/25 and was made very comfortable by the administrative staff at the front desk, to the patient technician and Dr. Pistone. The office is new and very clean. State of the Art of the equipment is used. Dr. Pistone is very professional, friendly and knows what she is doing. Being Diabetic, I have several issues that the Dr. is addressing. I have several additional appointments which I am looking forward to. I am very impressed by my treatment. Very impressed with Dr. Pistone. I would highly recommend anyone with foot, leg, etc. problems to seek out the Pistone Foot Center. Thank you. read more

Not sure how I feel yet...really liked the doctor...30 mins past my appointment time finally got into an exam room...parking was awful, 3 regular, 1 handicapped and 1 drop off space...unless you are okay with driving down a steep hill for a few more spaces and hiking up the hill to enter the building....I thought this quite odd since it is a foot doctors office....the building itself is brand new so of course it had a great impression...the staff was really nice too...maybe more decisive on the next visit. read more

I have never been so degraded as a PERSON, never mind as a patient. I will NEVER refer anyone to her, nor go back. She was extremely unprofessional and rude. Working in the medical field I have never seen ANY doctor treat a patient the way I was treated today. When I was brought into a room, the first thing I was asked about was if I know what an insurance deductible is, not even the reason for the appointment. Automatically thinking okay this appointment is all about the dollar sign. She comes in the room with an attitude, does not introduce herself, looks at me and says she isn't going to do anything for me until I get an x-ray for an ingrown toe nail you can see. Once she stopped fighting with me about an x-ray and continuing to degrade me, she stormed out of the room and SLAMMED the door in my face. Obviously because I wouldn't get the x ray to rack up the bill. My grandmother made 1 appointment with her because her podiatrist is to far to drive too. After talking to my family about how terrible she was, I found out she actually HURT AND DAMAGED my grandmother's foot and now she has to go back to her podiatrist to get it fixed. After getting the door slammed in my face, I told the nurse at the front desk how unprofessional this appointment and the poor nurse thought it was because of her. I felt terrible for the nurse and told her it was become of the doctor. Shows she doesn't treat her staff very well either. Still can't get over the fact she slammed the door in a patient's face. I was on vacation in Massachusetts and somehow hurt my foot on the plane going there. I called this place and although at first they were reticent to schedule me that day, when I explained that it hurt (really) they gave me an appointment later that morning. I went there, everyone was very nice and professional. Dr. Pistone examined my foot, explained what she thought was the problem, offered a couple of courses of action. I picked the one that she said would be quickest to resolve the problem. She was right, a couple days later all the pain was gone, and now 3 weeks later it has not recurred. read more

I have had two visits to Pistone Foot Center, and I am totally pleased with the excellent care by Dr. Pistone and the patient care assistant. In addition, the administrative staff at the front desk are very professional and friendly. I have sought foot care in a major teaching hospital in Boston, and elsewhere in the Merrimack Valley. My appointment went great, the follow up was the problem. I've had pain and instability in my ankle for months; at my appointment everything was right on time, xrays were done, the doctor saw me right away and set up more tests at the local hospital. I was very impressed with the efficiency. I called a few days after my tests at the hospital to make a follow up appointment for my results; instead, I was told over the phone by an assistant that the doctor saw nothing wrong with my ankle but really wanted me to come in and buy a new pair of her $60 orthopedic shoes! ....seriously? I made an appointment at Seacoast Orthopedics in Newburyport for a second opinion, and they found the problem almost immediately: a peroneal tendon strain that is possibly torn (waiting for my MRI appointment to find out) and I might need surgery to correct it. The kicker? This type of strain worsens over time and leads to tearing, meaning if I took Dr. Pistone's office at their word I would have been walking around damaging my ankle even more than it already was. I appreciated the tests that were done, but don't feel like the doctor was really invested in finding the actual problem and was more keen on selling me shoes. read more
