The guy working the beer cooler down there was super friendly, and they have a firefighter's boot by the register to collect money to help out the local firehouse and all the guys serving the community. He, too, also wished me a Happy Father's Day and thanked me for my business. Nothing like patronizing a local, small business in a very tight knit community. This place does everything right, and the entire layout of the premises is really cool. Another reason as to why it looks like the built in a hurry, they made it a supercenter, but built it too small. The inside of this thing is way too small to be consider a supercenter in terms of size. With the smaller floorplan you get a smaller selection of items. I noticed that was a complaint in at least one other review. I also noted that in another review, if you are not paying attention, you will bypass this place. Although I do not agree that it is good for any given area to have a Walmart. It comes off as convenient in the spur of the moment, but it really hurts a community most times. Walmart isn't the end all for shopping. Especially when it is as small as it is and doesn't really have that much in regard to variety. Alright, I feel like I'm beating a dead horse here. It was just a quick stop for me as I wasn't really needing anything, but since I was out I stopped in. I did a quick once around the store to see if there was anything I needed. Bulk items, baking/cooking ingredients, pop, Lancaster chicken pies, ham loafs whoopie pies and more are available and always in stock. They also carry (one of my favorite things) Raw Milk! In addition to groceries, they sell decorative plants as well as garden plants along with outdoor furniture! And, as always, they provide fantastic customer service. The next time you're in Latrobe, do yourself a favor and definitely stop by Lapps Market!
