Let me start by saying the Falafel special is nice and fresh,but unfortunately that's were it ends. I came back another day to find the chicken and beef entree's (shawarma plate)to be mediocre at best, with both the beef and chicken dried out and tasteless. When I moved here almost a decade ago, good Lebanese food was nearly impossible to find. The last few years have seen a minor surge in popularity of shawarma places around here, some hits, some misses. I'm gonna put Pita in the "hit" column, with a little critique. The food here is fresh, we ordered a chicken shawarma pita combo and the chicken shawarma plate. Lots of chicken on both. I mean probably the most chicken I've seen on either a pita or a platter before! Might be the best tabbouleh salad I've eaten too. The garlic sauce was potent, as it should be, but the biggest surprise was how awesome the pink pickled turnips and regular pickles were! Man those were awesome. The only downside was that the chicken, although seasoned just right, was a little dry in parts. If you live in this area, this should be a regular haunt. For us out on the East side, it'll still be worth the drive every now and then, nice work guys! read more

Stopped in for take out on a weeknight and was pleasantly surprised. I ordered the shawarma plate to go, it came out quickly and was a ton of food. Greek salad, hummus, chicken, beef, pita, tahini. It was all excellent, especially with the fresh warm pita. Will definitely be back to try the falafel. read more

Really excellent Lebanese food! The pitas were warm, soft, and delicious; the hummus was flavorful and fresh; the falafel was seasoned excellently and had great texture. Also, the beets and pickles that came on the beef shwarma added some nice acidity and brightness. Service was good, portions were ample, and it came out quickly. Food was great the first time I had it. However, I'm only giving it 3 stars because the service when I tried to call in for take out was pretty bad. They had me on "hold" for 10 minutes. Only it wasn't really hold because I could hear them taking everyone's orders in the restaurant. I finally hung up and tried to call back 5 minutes later and got a busy signal, then tried again 5 more minutes after that, STILL busy. I don't think they ever went back to the phone to check on their holding customer and never put it back on the hook. Guess I'll just have to go there if I want to order food. read more

I love this place. I get their veggie plate with extra falafel ($1 per extra piece and they're generous aka big pieces!!). The salad with the pickled veggies, the hummus, the baba ghanoush. All DELICIOUS. A great place to grab a healthy meal when not wanting to cook. And the baklava is mouth watering. All stars here!! read more

Excellent food. Ordered the chicken pita meal. Fries were double fried which made them crispy and perfectly browned. Pita itself was homemade and delicious. The filling was chicken thighs with a Greek salad inside. Too much vinaigrette would have made the pita too salty, but it was just right. My wife had the chicken shawarma. Portions were generous and prices are very reasonable. We will definitely be back and bringing family. read more

1st time in and not happy. Ordered chicken shawarma which ive had 100s of times from a multitude of places. Took 15 min to get the food, it takes 1 minute anywhere else and it was dryyyyy. The chicken was old cold hard and dry the pita had very little sauce in it. Just not good. There are a few places in rochester to get shawarmas and this is hands down the worst. read more

Had to try the newest addition to the middle eastern food establishments that have sprung up around the area in the past couple years.This one is the largest of the three that I have been to.Located in U of R's college town on Mt Hope Ave.It is next to McDonald's and across the street from Soha Mediterranean and the Beer Bar.We found parking in the common lot between Pita and the next business.It was about 1:30 pm when we got there and it was not particularly busy but it picked up shortly after that.This is the format where you order and pay first and the food gets delivered to the table.The menu is sizable and to my surprise offered a burger and chicken wings.Prices were very reasonable.A large cup of lentil soup for$3.99 and my shicken schwarma pita was $6.49.Fountain beverages are poured behind the counter and not over priced.The menu listed several "plate" dinners in the $12.00+ range which came with rice and salad sides.My friend ordered the gyro and an order of falafel.He liked the gyro meat but thought it could have been warmer.The falafel were large and came with a garlic sauce and garnished with pickled turnip strips,pickles and tomato pieces.We both liked them.He got a side of tahini sauce to dip into and add to his gyro.My chicken Schwarma pita was large and tasty.The chicken was mildly spiced and moist.My lentil soup was spiced differently than most others that I have had but once I got used to it I liked it.We both agreed that we would return to try some more items.I must mention that the fresh made pita bread are piping hot and yummy.Would have given five stars but there was a little service glitch at the outset. read more

Food was very fresh, the seating area is clean. The staff making the pitas entertained our 2 year old while we waited, and even made him his own little pita to snack on. I don't live in Rochester but when I return, Pita Mediterranean is my first stop when eating out. And the owners, Ahmed and his brother, are warm and super friendly. Amazing food, Falafel and Chicken Shawarma are easily the best in Rochester. Manakesh are very good as well, I strongly recommend the Zaatar (Lebanese spice mix) and cheese manakesh. The prices are very good for the amount of food you get, you will be filled for the rest of the day. Owner was incredibly nice, gave us free tea and dessert and came around to talk to us, and inquire if everything was going on. Great food, prices and people, you should definitely stop by! read more

We stopped in on a Sunday night for take out. We ordered a six-piece falafel, an gyro, a falafel pita, and baklava. I've had gyros in a lot of places and maybe the problem is those were Americanized or something, but I thought it was the worst one I've ever had. The meat just did not taste good and the onions were overpowering. Didn't notice much feta. The pita itself (bread) was very soft and good. I've only had falafel at one other shawarma place, and "Pita" falafel could not compare. At the other place it had a smooth internal texture and great flavor. At Pita, the texture was very grainy and dry. The outside "crust" also seemed very thick and a bit overcooked. My husband had the falafel pita and said it was only okay. Not great. The baklava was great, but I don't think we would probably come back again. read more

I tried their falafel pocket and it was incredibly filling and delicious. The falafel and the sauces created a really great flavor. Great to see additional Mediterranean options in Rochester. Great shawarma and hummus! Very convenient to Wilmot cancer center. My chicken was a little bit dry but was very good none the less.

Food is decent. Was not over the moon. Had the chicken swarma (sp). Was good. I would say 3.5 stars. Will go again as it's convenient for me but I wouldn't go out of my way to get. read more
