Extremely cute, fun, feminine clothing and a small jewelry collection as well! The prices are great. I bought a beautiful dress for $30 and a ring for $6, and I can't wait to wear them out one night. The store clerk was very sweet as well, and I love that they allow you to try items on. There's a sales section in the back that has good options as well. The store is clean and organized by color. as someone who gets very bad shopping anxiety and overwhelmed easily in clothing stores, walking into pitaya, my mind was instantly relaxed and i didnt feel the slightest bit overwhelmed. all the clothes were in sections by colors, which made it easy to navigate the store and pick out some clothes. i usually walk around stores with nothing in my hands, but here i had a whole little collection in my arms! the ladies working here were super nice and helpful when it came to dressing room things. walked out with an outfit which is a win for me! 20/10 would come back for more clothes. not overpriced either!! read more

Pros: I used to love this chain back in undergrad (pre 2005). They carried these t-shirts I liked and I purchased them in every color. Denim was great too. Cons: I don't know why I keep coming here. Have not actually purchased anything in a decade! Service is always bad at every single Pitaya location. Even circa 2005, they were very keen on inventory control. You couldn't bring in bags from other stores, they would take everything you were holding and store in locked fitting rooms (which wouldn't be a problem if they didn't forever to let you into these rooms once you were ready to try on clothes). Bored girls who can't be bothered to deal with customers. This location worse then some of the others since there is only street parking. read more

This store is not just cute clothes, they have embraced the neighborhood. My dog, Biggie wants to stop every walk to say HiHe almost drags me and my other dog in there. This place has a cute selection and is pretty affordable compared to the other meager shopping options currently on Mill, but if I'm in the mood to shop Pitaya wouldn't be one of my first choices. Maybe it was because I visited during the middle of a weekday, but I got the vibe that the salesgirl wished I would leave, because she was talking to a friend when I came in and I guess that my presence made her feel the need to talk in whispers. And when she did help me, she seemed annoyed about it. I did end up buying a couple of things from there, only to find the SAME EXACT SKIRT for maybe $8 cheaper at LoveCulture in Scottsdale Mall. I kid you not. If I can get the same clothes for cheaper elsewhere, then I don't think I'll be going back. read more

Realizing I had to head straight the Yelp Event at Finnegan's from work tonight I was in a dilemma. I didn't bring clothes and didn't want to show up in my monkey suit, so I yelped some spots and decided to check out Pitaya. Like the other reviewers I love that it is organized by color, it makes everything so much easier to find and helps you to pick out an outfit much faster. I wouldn't go quite as far as to compare it to H&M, I didn't see any $10 shirts or 10 year old sales clerks.. I did find a top for under $30 and although the material does seem flimsy it was cute enough to buy (at least I'll get don a few outfits out of it). I wasn't looking for classy, long term wear - just cute and fun.. The girls working there were extremely helpful without being pushy which is always nice. They also had a lot of cute accessories and good music playing while I was there (big plus). Considering all the clothing stores to shop on Mill this one wins my vote and I will certainly return. read more

I was in AZ visiting a friend and she was showing me around a cool area called The Mill. It was such a great area with cool shops, restaurants, quaint area.. I loved it! I unfortunately walked into this store. This little boutique looked cute from the outside but once you were inside it was pretty commercial and didn't have any charm. Selection was average to sub- par, as we're the sales associates. They were the worst. I was not welcome at all, I felt like I was being asked to leave without them even saying anything. My friend and I were the only ones in the store and still when I asked to try one thing on she told me I needed to leave my small purse with my friend. I am an upstanding citizen and I DO NOT expect to be treated like a thief. If you cannot handle one customer, with one item in the fitting room than you are not fit to work in retail. One of the many things I love about Arizona compared to the Midwest is the clothing style. I love the bright colors, thin fabrics, and fun prints. Everything I love about the fashion is at Pitaya. Compared to other shops on Mill Ave, this store is very clean and very bright. It is one of those places that you instantly feel happy when you walk in the doors. The clothes are very cute and affordable. They have cute dresses, fun accessories, 'going out' clothes and lots of color. The dressing rooms are roomy and the girls working at Pitaya were very friendly and attentive. Once I had two tops in my hand, one of the cute girls asked to start a fitting room for me...thanks! Oh was I desperate yesterday and Pitaya came to my rescue. I went to the Blackout Party last night, and yes, of course, I decide at the last minute to buy my dress. After going to 2 malls, buying things I wasn't satisfied with at Nordstrom, I was about to give up. I was getting my hair done at Mood Swings, and I had some time to kill, so I went next door to Pitaya. These clothes were so adorable, and I was scared that I wasn't able to fit into anything. This adorable girl helped me pick out some black dresses and even waited for me to model the dresses. We picked out this great black sun dress that I could totally bling up. And the price! $34!!!! And they also had great accessories to boot. I will be there again...especially if I have a blue or pink party to go to. I love it how they have everything in the store organized by color. The best part about the store is the customer service! I'd been meaning to check in Pitaya for awhile especially since everytime I'm on Mill, I see it and remind myself that I need to go there. Last night on my way home from work, I decided to stop and see what it was all about. My quick summary is that it's pretty much Mill's version of H&M only organized and neatly arranged. Everything is seperated by color which I actually like. The prices are very much on par with H&M and some of the clothes have that H&M quality feel to them. So basically don't be surprised when the $12 shirt you bought falls apart in the washing machine after a few washes. But really, when you walk away with a cute shirt for a fraction of what you would have paid at a department store, you have to be happy! The salesgirls are friendly and willing to help, but also give you space to just peruse the merchandise and make your choices. My only two negatives about Pitaya are: 1) They have a "no bags" policy for the dressing rooms which includes purses. I felt really funny giving the salesgirl my purse to hold while I tried on a shirt. But I guess they are on Mill and people might want to shoplift...and 2) They don't carry extra smalls!!! In anything!!! Seriously? No extra smalls? They are lucky the shirt I tried on works on me as a small, but I would have appreciated an extra small to give it a more snug fit. I feel like Pitaya is one of those hit or miss stores...sometimes you walk in and come out a winner (like I did last night) and sometimes you don't find anything. But since it's close, I know I'll be stopping in again to try my luck. read more

Cute clothes! My friend and I stumbled upon this place while walking down Mill Ave this weekend. They had a holiday sale going on. 50% off already marked down dresses, tops & bottoms! Yay! It's a cute little boutique, lots of cute clothes, shoes, & accessories. The staff was super friendly. And the place was nicely kept and organized. Absolutely amazing. They're clothes seem like they'd be small but there was a girl named Grace who was helping me and she was so great about everything. She found clothes that were flattering on my body type. With Graces help, I was able to reach out of my comfort zone with clothes I wouldn't normally wear. Graces sense of style was unique and really cute. Grace helped me find clothes that made me feel comfortable and helped to make my look more modern. I got two complete outfits and have gotten more compliments on them then I ever have before. Not to mention how clean the store was, they don't mess around by leaving clothes in the changing rooms either. Everything was very well kept. Thanks Grace! The staff was incredible!! A friend and I popped in right after we went to Urban Outfitters across the street. The experience at Pitaya was completely the opposite in the best way. We were greeted by the friendly girls working and then they offered to take some things back to a dressing room for us as soon as we picked up some items. They complimented us on our items while we tried them on (excellent sales technique by the way) and I was blow away. I never leave reviews but I really felt compelled after this experience. And maybe I picked a bad day, but the girls working at the time I went were helpful, but were rude about it. They didn't want to help and acted as if we were a burden in the store. Yesterday was my first time shopping at Pitaya. I try to avoid Mill all together especially for shopping since it's lacking options but some friends and I decided to have lunch and wander. The store is so organized! Everything is arranged by color which is great when you know there are certain colors you just can't pull off. The sales girls where very nice and helpful. They started a dressing room for me, helped me find the right size in jeans (3,7, 9 - 2, 4, 6- 26, 27, 28 - how does anyone keep that straight!?) and suggested a few alternatives and accessories without seeming like they were trying to up sell me. I found a really cute shirt in black but they didn't have my size, AH! salesgirl #1 to the rescue! They had my size in 2 other colors. Perfect. (I bought both.) One of the dresses I was iffy about but she suggested I try it with a belt. I have a lot of belts at home but she gave me a few anyway just so I could see the difference and she was right! An OK dress was transformed and I was sold. I left the store pleasantly surprised. They have a good selection of clothes, really affordable accessories and the sales girls were attentive and friendly. They only mistake they made was telling me that they get new stuff every week. My bank account is going to suffer tremendously but I can't fault them for that can I? read more

I'm fairly new to Arizona and since I'm on campus without a car, I go to Mill to shop. Pitaya is one of my favorite little places on Mill! They have a really good selection (color-coded! I love that) of dresses, shirts, etc... (I bought an amazing lightweight romper there for about $25 and it's still one of my favorite things in my wardrobe!) As for the girls working there, they've always helped me find exactly what I'm looking for every time I've gone in. They're super friendly even when they don't have what you're looking for. I really like that they have several dressing rooms and full-length mirrors so there's hardly any wait time and you can fully see your item. I never left Pitaya without a bag in my hand. This place has some great accessories, tops, and dresses at a reasonable price. The selections are mostly casual clothes and some stuff for a night out. What I like about Pitaya is they have limited inventory of all their clothes, so unlike forever 21 or the Gap, it isn't likely that there will be 100 clones out there in the same outfit! I've never made a special trip to go to Pitaya, but always make a point to stop if I'm on Mill Avenue. read more

There is nothing that I love more than taking time off from school and doing some shopping on Mill Avenue. Sadly, when I walked into Pitaya, I was greeted by a not-so-serious staff. As I walked in, I felt completely awkward, almost as if I was being judged. I was not greeted by the staff at all, which is means big negative points in my book! I decided to look around and I did find some cute clothes that I had picked out, but none of the co-workers were willing to help me find matching shorts or shirts--let alone ask if I wanted to try something on. I was extremely surprised at their behavior since there were 4 of them working at the same time. They were paying attention to which shoes they wanted to buy as soon as they could and not falling off ladders in 6 inch heels!!! I left that store immediately and only came back on one other occasion. The other occasion was when I was meeting one of my friends at Pitaya after she was done with her shift. I arrived a tad early and decided to look around again and I paid attention to their accessories and sale rack. Before I headed back to the sale rack, I was greeted professionally by my friend, who had an extra 10 minutes of her shift, but not by the others. It was as if I was not there... Even though I was meeting a good friend of mine, I still should be treated as a customer and greeted as such. When employees do not do this, when they clearly know that I am in the store, it seems unprofessional. Their attitudes and their "joking-around" in the store on my second visit made me never want to come back again. This store needs to get its priorities straight!! read more

Their clothes are okay. Some of the stuff is tacky, but some is pretty cute. The problem is the quality of the merchandise. I had browsed here a few times, but it wasn't until my most recent visit that I tried stuff on. Everything felt like burlap, and made me feel like I was having an allergic reaction. I know nothing about women's fashion. Let me reiterate that statement, I know nothing about fashion. The majority of my life I have dressed as if I were a 45 year old man. So when I decided that I wanted to buy my girlfriend some cute trendy clothing, well, I was way in over my head. Turns out I don't even know what most female clothing is called. But, after a friend recommended Pitaya I made the trek and I was instantly happy with my decision. I was greeted with smiles, then pity as I described my severe ineptitude towards fashion. The sales associate (I think actually she was the manager because the other girls kept coming up to her and asking questions) metaphorically took me by the hand and after I showed her some pictures of my girlfriend, put together some cool little ensembles that she thought would look good on her. turns out my girlfriend loved them. Clothes were okay. I hate clothing stores like forever 21 who have poor quality clothes thrown everywhere. Pitaya was at least organized. If it weren't for the employees i may go back. They were very unhelpful, rude, and there look didn't help the store. Too bad because i went two stores down to Diva's. Somewhat similar cloth (id prefer diva's) and the sales girls were great. I lived in a college town years ago across the country who had a Pitaya and it was one of the cutest little clothing stores I had shopped in so I was really excited to find one in AZ but this one is just way different. I didn't find anything I liked here, the prices were too high and the whole concept of this store was different than the sweet boutique feel I was used to.
