I was actually excited walking in, since I hadn't had many chances to enjoy a proper dinner in tow yet. Unfortunately, the service took away from what could have been a great experience.
Right as we entered, the host didn't even say hi. Instead, in a sharp and unfriendly tone, he asked if we wanted to sit inside or outside. I paused for just a moment, since there was plenty of availability in both areas, and said, "That's a good question, let me think..." Before I could even decide, he pointed at his reservation list, muttered something, and then abruptly said, "You eat outside," without even looking at us. He grabbed menus and started walking off. I stopped him to say I'd prefer inside because it was very hot outside and the tables were all in direct sun. He clearly wasn't happy, but he unhappily led us to a table inside. It was an uncomfortable start and honestly put a damper on the whole mood.
Once seated, things didn't really improve. I had asked for tap water, which was brought without issue, but then it appeared on the bill. We weren't told there would be a charge, and when we asked about it, the waiter flatly refused to remove it. At that point I just said to pay it so we could move on, but it felt unnecessary and left us feeling misled.
The one highlight was the food. We shared a pasta dish and it was very tasty with no complaints there. If it had just been about the food and the ambiance, I'd happily rate this higher. But when the staff makes you feel unwelcome and treated as a burden, it overshadows everything else.
I left feeling frustrated instead of satisfied and after reading some other reviews, it seems like rude service is a recurring issue here. It's a shame, because the place has so much potential with its atmosphere and food. Unfortunately, I wouldn't return.
