For a pork lover, Pork's is Hog Heaven! We did not have a reservation and luckily, we waited and got in! The pork knuckle was perfection: crispy chicharrón on the outside, tender meat inside. Nicely accompanied by mustard, crispy cabbage, and shredded horseradish! I also ordered some hot sauce which enhanced the taste. Of course paired it with a Prague Pilsner. The go to place for crispy pork knuckle in Praha as we were told, so we checked it out. Well, it didn't disappoint. There was as initially a long wait in line but it moved pretty quickly. Every table has a pork knuckle. This is a very popular dish in Prague. Ours was served with a mustard dip and a side of potato chips. Of course this dish was perfectly paired with a good Czech beer! And gladly I did, walking distance from the Charles's bridge and it does look like a one of those tourist places...but it just a greatly friendly vibe that you just couldn't resisted. Great friendly and helpful service, great beers (got to try 1/2 dark & 1/2 light, just delicious. So good we came back for more! We saw Pork's in the way back from Prague Castle and wanted to try the Fried Knuckles and Potato chips. An absolute must when in Prague!!! The venue is spacious, with multi levels of seating. On a Monday night, we were able to snag a table for a group of 5 without a reservation. Our server spoke English well and was clearly familiar with all the drink and food options. We ordered two pork knuckles as appetizers to share. I don't know how they did it, but it arrived to our table just minutes later. It was freshly cooked, with crispy skin yet melt-in-your-mouth meat. I haven't experienced anything like it anywhere else in the world! All of the entrees are generously portioned so you can easily share. However, we didn't know and everyone ordered their own dish. Our bellies were exploding by the time we left! I had the pork schnitzel fried in pork fat that comes with a light potato salad. The schnitzel was super thin, and the potato salad was surprisngily SO good. It was unlike the American style with a vinegar-based dressing topped with microgreens, and was very refreshing considering the heavy meal. My friends had the pork ribs and all commented how the meat fell off the bone and the sauce/flavoring was far less sweet than the typical American ribs we're used to. Visiting Americans and I had a couple of foodie finds that I really wanted to try before leaving Prague. Thankfully, Porks was the place to go! It's located in a fairly well traveled tourist area and seems to be quite the attraction! I picked this place based on the menu we read walking by in the morning and when we walked back around 12:30pm, we quickly realized that we were going to be in line for awhile! No matter, I was determined and the waiting was fine. They are well organized and efficient. The restaurant is large and comfortable with just the right amount of tourist attracting decor. I started with a beer and we ordered a selection of things to share with the table. Of course, the highlight of the meal was the pork knuckle. It was worth the wait in line for sure and venturing into the tourist area altogether for me! Flavorful and beautifully cooked. I also really enjoyed the potato salad since it was light and refreshing and was a great accompaniment to the pork knuckle. Chips were good. The pork ribs were also really yummy. The potato pancake was probably our least favorite. The beer ice cream was very good and not too sweet which I appreciate. They also have a fruit dumpling on the menu if you're looking for foodie finds in Prague. I just tried that at a holiday market... Anyway, this was a really fun find and great for vacationers. I will be totally honest, I didn't expect much for the food before going to Prague...boy was I wrong. Prague has pretty solid food overall and Porks is the king of it. I mean with a name like that, you know the food has to be good. I had the Pulled Pork Knuckle Sandwich and goodness that thing gave me the best heart attack of my life. It was so full of delicious fatty pork that I could feel my heart struggling to beat as I took down every bite. The funny part is that I wanted 2. The meat is so tender and the crunch of the crackling is the perfect texture. This is one of those dishes that you see the person next to you get and you instantly want. If I came here at the start of my trip vs the end of my trip I think I would have a better review. The food in so many places was good so the bar was high once we got here. This is a touristy place, location and attendees. You pay for water even tap, that is all over Czech. Although I asked for water and she brought a bottle vs tap. It was my fault for not specifically saying but this is the only place we had this issue. The cabbage soup is a red base with lots of flavor. IMO it had too many potatoes and not enough of the pork or cabbage. The ribs had a wonderful flavor, Almost like 5 spice however we couldn't figure out the flavors. First night in Prague and we ended up at Pork's for dinner since it was close by our hotel. It's right on the main strip near the entrance to Charles bridge in Malá Strana (lesser town). The interior is like traditional/old world pub and very casual. There was a bit of a wait, maybe 10-15 minutes (around 5pm on a week night). One of the servers comes out to get the next customers as the tables are cleared. This place is known for their pork knuckle so that is what we ordered. We also got a pork schnitzel (which came with potato salad) and potato pancakes. The knuckle was delicious; the meat was soft and flavorful and the skin was crunchy. We ended up getting a huge piece, more than enough for 2 people. It definitely seemed a few grams larger than our neighbors'. The schnitzel was good too. Not too heavy and lightly fried. The pork dishes were solid as expected but the potato pancakes were a disappointment (we ended up only eating a few bites). They were really dense and oily. Definitely go for something else if you're looking for a side dish. Overall, it was a decent experience. The wait staff was fine. They are busy running around so don't expect too much from them. The service was fast since they have a small menu and eveone pretty much ordered the same thing. A weird note, if you ask for a takeaway box, they just give you a few sheets of butcher paper and a bag.. Eco-friendly but very inefficient. read more

Good Gasthaus type food and beer. Friendly, efficient staff. Restaurant appears small from front but stretches out with 150 seats.

The food is good (if underseasoned/bland) and covers the standards of Czech food - schnitzel, pork knuckle, goulash, etc. However, the location is right by the Charles Bridge, and so the prices are relatively higher than any other good Czech fare further away from the touristy center. In addition, we noticed that we were seated in a room full of other non-Czech speakers/tourists. This could be easier for English speaking wait staff, but it didn't make for an authentic-feeling experience. Also, we noticed that despite tips being typically included in the bill everywhere else across the EU, we (as tourists/Americans) were consistently encouraged to add gratuity, sometimes even beyond the standard 10-15% (at most) that is appropriate. If you are looking for a more authentic, less touristy meal, try walking up the hill in the Malá Strana to any other local spot or even heading all the way up to the Monastery restaurant where the beer and food were amazing, as was the view. read more

Like most, we came for the pork knuckle. The port knuckle was hog heaven. The outside as crunchy, and the inside was melt in you mouth pulled pork. We shared a grilled cheese salad and homemade chips. There was so much food, and all were fantastic. The restaurant did not appear to be too big, so be sure to make a reservation. Service was polite. My wife and I tried Pork's during our recent visit to Prague. It was quite busy and we had to wait about 45 minutes before getting seated. I guess this place is quite popular due to Tik Tok and YouTube reviews. We had to try it out and see if it lived up to the hype. My wife got the pork knuckles and I tried the pork sandwich. I had a Pilsner beer and my wife got a dark lager beer. We also had Becherovka shots. Honestly, I thought my wife's pork knuckles were fantastic! Crispy and juicy. The pork was very tender and juicy. Should have ordered the pork knuckle. I ordered the ribs and was a little disappointed. While it was falling off the bone. For some reason the fat wasn't rendered enough for me. Or perhaps I didn't know how to eat it properly with the condiments and accoutrements that came with it. I ate them separately. There was a mayonnaise very slightly flavored with wasabi and coleslaw. But I think the pork knuckle blew it out of the park with it's crispy skin. Reminds me of a local Philippines dish called crispy pata (thigh of a pig). This restaurant made me install this app, Yelp. It's very unfortunate. The waitress's name was "Denisa."(not sure for the spelling. But she has short or bobbed hair and also tattoos.) I was traveling to the Czech Republic alone today, and in fact, everything was satisfying until I made the payment. The food and the beer were delicious, and the rest of the servers were very friendly. However, the waitress Denisa who check out my payment, ruined the evening at the end. I ordered a dish called Koleno, tap water and beer. First of all, I didn't expect tap water to be charged, but that's what happened. My problem was that there was an added mayonnaise sauce that I didn't even order. This is my first time here, and I thought it was a standard sauce. But when I confirmed that the bill was charged, I told her I had never ordered it, even I didn't know that they have mayonnaise sauce in menu, and she pointed to the sauce saying, "You eat." Her attitude was very embarrassing and disrespectful. In this case, shouldn't she go to the person who took my order and check first to see if they got the wrong order? So I said, "If a sauce comes with something that you haven't even ordered in a first-time restaurant, of course,Customers think it's just a standard sauce." And she said, "But you eat," and kept pointing at the sauce. And a few seconds later, with an unpleasant, almost annoying, look, she said she'd take the sauce out. And I was so offended that I said, "The sauce isn't a big deal. I'm willing to pay for it. But why are you behaving like that to me?" And she said, "You didn't order the sauce, so I've ruled it out for you now? Just bring your card here," in a rude way that I never imagined. And I asked again, "Why do you treat a customer like that in a situation like this right now? What's your name?" Then I asked her again, and she changed her voice a but and say, "Denisa." But then she proceeded to pay without an apology until the end. Then she mentioned mayonnaise among her colleagues to the point where I couldn't understand why, but I could hear it all. Unfortunately, I couldn't understand whether she was looking for the person who took my order or was swearing behind my back. She didn't seem to have any idea how to handle this kind of issue like this when it happened at a restaurant. Why should a customer have this unpleasant experience due to a mistake caused by a problem between servers of restaurant? If this continues to be the way it is, customers will leave this restaurant no matter how delicious the food is. Just like me. read more

The food was not bad but nothing to write home about: a sausage (really good), smoked pork cracklings (Ok but too mall cut, too dry, no meat on them), and a schnitzel (a little too dry). The service was VERY BAD: our waitress came to our table twice - once to take the drinks order and once to get paid. ALL our food was brought to our table together, although there were two appetizers. Neither the original waitress or anybody else stopped at our table to ask how everything was, if food was Ok, anything, although they passed our table all the time. In an invironment where tips would matter, these waiters wouldn't last one week: but just like in Rome or Paris or Florence where there are millions of tourists, they don't care, and it shows in their attitude and in their service.
