Pizza's are tasty, the staff are friendly and good communicators. You can tell there's pride in doing a great job in this restaurant. This place is neat extremely clean and well organized. You don't see supplies or things laying around unless they are sorted stacked and aligned. Why is that important to me? First time dining here in years!!! They used to have a nice pizza buffet, now they have a small dine in area. Seats about 16-20 people. We ordered at the counter, and the lady who took our order was very kind. We got a deluxe Stromboli, and a Rips Hot Chicken pizza to share. Stromboli was really delicious!! The bread was a crispy garlic bread, and it was loaded just right, sausage, peppers, onions, pepperoncinis. Served with chips, it is enough for a filling meal. The Rips hot chicken pizza was unusual. The crust, a hand-tossed style is thick and crispy around the outside, and chewy in the middle. It comes with a thick slather of cream cheese on the base. The flavor was very cream cheesey. It was not spicy in the least, but we asked for crushed red pepper, and that gave it some heat. They have sodas and beer by the bottle. Very flimsy plastic cutlery. The Strom was definitely the star of the show today. I think fountain sodas and actual forks and knives would bump it to a 5 for me. read more

My wife and I took my granddaughter to eat at Pizza by the Guy. It was a late lunch and we ordered an individual pepperoni for my granddaughter, medium cheese stick and medium vegetable pizza. The food was excellent. The cheese sticks were phenomenal lots of cheese and very tasty. My granddaughter had been asking for pepperoni pizza and thoroughly enjoyed her pizza. The service was very friendly and quick. We would definitely order or eat in at this restaurant again. Although there's only a few tables for dining in, the restaurant was clean and well-kept. We love the pizza and the sandwiches are the best ever. I did 4 stars because of 2 things. First, they are bad about leaving out the pickles that we have paid for and leaving off the extra dirty seasoning that was requested. The worst problem was that when I placed an online order today, I saw that a $5 tip was automatically added. This was a pickup order so we used our car, our gas and our time to get the pizza and they wanted to sneak in a 20% tip? I changed it and gave them 10% as I normally do. I tried a Thin and Crispy Pizza. I was extremely disappointed - I actually ordered it "Extra Crispy/well done". It wasn't crispy at all. As a matter of fact, it was quite soupy in the middle. Absolutely the best surprise we have ever had eating pizza. The snow white and the seven cheeses was amazing and the real surprise was the loaded baked potato pizza. I've always wondered if the pizza was good from here since I have heard mixed reviews. We decided to order from here one night. We ordered pizza, baked spaghetti, cheese sticks, wings, and 2 Stromboli's and 2 orders of nacho cheese. $92... after grub hub 15% tip. The pizza I ordered was thin crust .. it was extremely under cooked and gooey. The cheese sticks and baked spaghetti were awesome (the only reason for the 2 stars). The wings were undercooked and fatty. The Stromboli was overloaded with green pepper and bread was mushy. We also ordered 2 orders of nacho cheese (paid for them $6) never received them. Unfortunately, my first order from this place was over priced and undercooked. Hope you're experience is better. read more

First of all, I'd say the flavor was good. The ingredients were tasty, no doubt. My complaint is more in the lack of food for the money. My wife and I are visiting with our 10 yo, 8 yo and 2.5 year old twins. We ordered 2 16" pizzas and finished them off in one sitting. There is a little crust around the edges and almost no dough under the pizza. More than $40 barely fed 2 adults and 4 children. It tasted good, but not that good. Hard to find good pizza that has any substance too it, trust me, we've tried. read more

Visiting Owensboro for the first time this weekend. Pizza by the Guys, it's in the crust. This is very true!! The crust was to die for!! The best unseasoned crust I've ever had! Slightly crunchy outside, super chewy inside!! The best!!!! The store had a problem with my order, and very promptly called me to clarify! Very professional!! Granted, the delivery did take a long time, but it was WELL worth it. I really like the fact that I could order extra plates, napkins, etc at no extra charge. They even had a "new customer pak" online that I could have sent over with the pizza. All in all, if I'm ever in Owensboro again, I will definitely order this establishment again!! A+ read more

Pizza is alright. We had it delivered to our business. Delivery guy shorted me on my change.. which I understand if you don't have coin change. But that's not my fault. You should carry change on you, that's your job. He would have got a bigger tip if so. And if that's the company's policy, then they need to round it to the nearest dollar.. it's rude and thoughtless. Most likely won't get delivery from them again. read more

We stopped in at 9:15pm on a Sunday night after a long day at Holiday world. We ordered the dirty bread sticks and an extra large pizza. The food was fantastic. It is hard to find a pizza place that produces such a high quality product these days. I highly recommend Pizza by the Guy to anyone looking for a great Pie. Don't go to a chain restaurant. Decent pizza. We ordered a pizza to go and ordered it margarita style with basil tomato and mozzarella. The crust was decent not great. Reminded me of Cici's Pizza. Ask for the mozzarella and basil it was shredded mozzarella which is fine but the basil was dry basil not fresh basil as they said that it was. Overall taste of the sauce was very bland and almost seemed as if they use crushed tomatoes out of a can with no seasoning. Overall not a great pizza and reminded me more of a Cici's Pizza read more

Ordered delivery on a Sunday night while staying at a hotel in town for a youth football tournament. Our order was delivered as promised within an hour. We ordered baked penne pasta with meatballs, dough bites, & a large hand tossed pizza with sausage, garlic, shrooms and extra sauce (although seemed like the extra sauce request was overlooked). The food did not arrive hot and they delivered to a hotel room yet did not include plastic ware to eat the pasta. Not too big of an issue, but would be nice to include for your out of town customers. The pizza was good, not great. Compared to Pizza Hut or dominos it was better. May have been better if it was warmer but we had no way to warm it up. The pasta was okay, not enough sauce and way too much cheese. The meatballs tasted like the frozen kind you buy from the freezer section of your grocery store and were really small. Now the "dough bites" came with a garlic butter and a red garlic sauce. We ended up using the garlic red sauce (which tasted just like marinara sauce) on our penne pasta that was lacking enough sauce and ended up throwing the box of dough balls away....dry and tasteless. Even tried dipping them in the garlic butter but the dough was just so dry you'd literally have to soak the dough bite on the butter! Not worth it. Stick with ordering the pizza and maybe pick it up to ensure it comes hot and fresh! read more

The pizza wasn't bad. I am vegetarian so I had to go partially off of my boyfriend's reaction. The salad bar was an afterthought, but it's hard to blame them for that. Most people would ignore the salad bar and go for the pizza and the veggies would just wilt. The spaghetti noodles were floating in water but ended up being ok. The spaghetti sauce was a little sweet for my taste. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I wish I had gotten the little lady's name up front. She wore glasses. She was on top of our drink refills & told us about all of the discounts and promotions they offer. I really wish they would swap from plastic forks & Styrofoam cups to the real thing. This goes a long way to improve atmosphere I believe. I wish they had not had the TV volume on. They were playing Grey's Anatomy. I like to leave the house to get away from the TV. Having the TVs on sports at a pizza place is understandable, but I prefer to have the sound muted unless a customer requests the game to be turned up.
