    Caesar salad with salmon
    Diala A.

I came here for dinner a couple of weeks ago and enjoyed my meal in this old school bistro! The servers were friendly and the ambiance was that of a classic small town restaurant with memorabilia from the owner's family! I stumbled upon some wholesome interactions among some regulars and servers which made it seem homey (and a hit in the community!). I enjoyed the salmon caesar salad and side of brussel sprouts (though I wish they had been cooked a touch more and with a little less sauce). Overall, a fun spot with good food!

the first half of this amazing club sandwich legit blew my mind with flavor & texture.

This place looks unassuming but WOWZA! Service and food is KILLER!! Mackenzie served the three of us with a smile and a lot of patience. I had, without a doubt, the BEST CLUB SANDWICH IN MY LIFE here yesterday. The bread is soft and the turkey, ham, lettuce and bacon were plentiful without being ridiculous. I forgot to say easy on the mayo and they did it perfectly anyway! It takes a big bite to get it done, but legitimately delicious. Mackenzie offered pickles on the side and said they were spicy. I love spicy!! Those pickles were HOT! hahah. I was wincing and sniffling but Yummy!! My lunch companions had a Caesar salad with a gorgeous piece of salmon on top and the other had a Philly cheesesteak that she downed too! HIGHLY RECOMMEND if you're downtown and need a good meal. Sorry, I usually get better pics but get this sandwich anyway.

Wow. Just perfect visual and even better taste

Little gem of a place in heart of Owensboro! Great Greek food amidst other pasta and classic dishes. Shared spanokopita bites....delish. Can make a meal though or of them! Plenty to share!! We both had the Moussaka...fantastic choice! Creamy bechamel, plenty of meat, nice slices of eggplant. Not a skimpy portion either. Best I've had anywhere! Roasted veggies were also fantastic! Looks like there's also a unique beer list! House red wine was nice. Not bad price either. Definitely don't miss this is given the option to eat in Owensboro!

We frequent Famous Bistro and it never disappoints! Tonight the service and food was excellent! The ambiance was charming, cozy and romantic. I love the meatball linguini. My husband had the steamed mussels and filet mignon. The chef sent over a complimentary bowl of Langoustine Bisque, a special for the evening - my husband LOVED it! (I don't eat seafood so I didn't try it) He raved about it.

Anna's Is the Foundation for My Love of Food…read more I first walked into Anna's in 2007 at the old location on Three Springs Rd. I was a 21 y/o small-town Kentucky kid whose culinary range extended to chicken tenders and French fries. I had no real curiosity about other cultures through food. I wasn't looking for adventure. I just wanted dinner. Then I took my first real date there. We ordered the lamb gyro, saganaki, and tzatziki. I still remember that saganaki arriving and the server screaming "OPA!", as it hit the table. That meal changed something in me. It was my first true cultural food experience, and it expanded my imagination in a way I didn't even understand at the time. From that point on, I went almost weekly. Everything Anna touches is gold. There is intention in the flavors, pride in the execution, and warmth in the experience. One night around 2010, I was the only customer in the restaurant. Vilson was serving me. I confidently ordered a White Zinfandel. He laughed and said, "Oh, some sweet tea with a bit of alcohol in it, eh?" Then he brought me a glass of Greek wine on the house instead. That small moment meant more than he probably realized. It was my invitation to GROW. I live in Seattle now. I've become an Elite Yelp reviewer and spend much of my time exploring restaurants, chefs, and cuisines from all around the world. I seek out bold flavors. I travel for food. I write about it constantly. And yet- twice a year, every year, when I return home to Kentucky, there is one place I always make sure to visit: Anna's. Always. Because this is where it started. If you read my Yelp bio, you'll see that saganaki from Anna's has been listed as my "last meal" choice since the day I created my account. That isn't nostalgia. That's impact. Anna and Vilson didn't just open a restaurant. They ignited a lifelong passion in a 21-year-old country boy who didn't know what he was missing. Some restaurants feed you. A few change you. Anna's changed me. Forever grateful.

I came here with a group, and I had the Vegetarian Briamai, which can also be made vegan if you ask them to leave off the feta. We also had an order of pita and tzatziki for an appetizer, and that hit the spot. While we didn't order the Saganaki flaming cheese, we saw it come out for another table, and it's quite a show- even if I can't attest to the taste. The only reason for my four stars instead of five is that the menu the server hands you is not complete, so be sure to check out the online menu to see ALL of the offerings. They do have more seafood and vegetarian offerings than what the paper menu shows, and you can also view photos and reviews of the food on their website/online menu. One of the reviews from 2024 mentioned the price differences, and this is still true in 2026. The prices on the website and in real life are a bit more expensive than the menus, so if you want the true cost of your meal, pay attention to the online menu. Anna's is a great choice for dinner; all of us enjoyed our food and found something we liked, from meat eaters to vegans. Plus, the sensory experience of being in a renovated church is nice and not something you'd expect in a small town like Bowling Green.
