I had this place before I departed Owensboro from a weekend with the hubby. I was craving a different style of pizza other than your typical pizza hut/papa johns and I got exactly what I wished for. The pizza was fresh and hot. We ordered a pepperoni pizza and it was covered completely in pepperoni. We had a gentlemen who apparently just started 4 days ago and he basically ran the whole front of the store by himself. I thought he was the manager the whole time and he stated that he wasn't and that he is a college student and got the job because he wanted extra cash and he knew the owners. Pizza is very, very thin. I would classify it as a "cracker" style crust, which really isn't my thing. With that said, there was a ton of pepperoni and the sauce was tasty. We had the bacon pizza and their version of a "supreme." Looked delicious! I thought it tasted really good, you definitely got a lot of toppings in each bite. However, it should be noted the pizza is a thin crust. I, myself, prefer thick crust but it was still great! read more

I've loved Donato's pizza since my college years in Lexington. So glad Owensboro now has one! This pizza is worth the price. If you want cheap/average pizza there are plenty of places where you can get pies. My favorite is the thin crust pepperoni. It's crispy with a cornmeal dusting on the bottom. The pepperonis are small but cover the top, they crisp up perfectly. It's a spicier pizza flavor than most chains which I prefer. They have a personal size which is a perfect option for sampling before you buy for the family or a party. Try the pepperoni! read more

Ordered twice now... first time pretty decent. Yes it can be a little more costly than others but that doesn't mean it isn't worth it... but the second time i I ordered the bruschetta pizza... it was terrible!!! Hardly any chicken, and all the other toppings were clumped together in one spot, and barely warm (at best)!!! Also had the jalapeño poppers, and they were pretty good, which I would hope... since they were more than a dollar a piece. Minus 3 stars for not one single Donatos employee anywhere, on any platform, can be bothered to explain what "No Cup" means on their menu. I have just had my chain pulled by these CLOWNS! Ordered Pizza, Salad and soda. Asked delivery driver if salad dressing and fork was in bag and he assured me it was in there. No such luck, called store and only resolve was he said I will tell the manager. No offer of anything to the Customer. Crap outfits like this burn my tail as I am on road in a hotel with no access to forks. Threw salad in garbage. This place doesn't care about customers. read more

Ordered three pizzas to pick up for Super Bowl Sunday. Maybe it was just because they were busy but the pizza was very disappointing. They were flat, not very fresh, over-cooked, and just looked unappealing. The store seems seemed kind of flustered when we came to pick up the pizza. On top of all that it was $51 for three pizzas. For that much I would have expected better. May try one more time since other reviews seem pretty good. read more

Had them before and the food was good, wanted to order again and they refused to deliver to me 2.6 miles away unless the order was over $100. What is the point of being a delivery place if don't deliver to a place less than 3 miles away? I'm pretty tough on reviews but I have to say the experience was good. I really liked the pizza. My wife and I ordered an Italian salad each and a medium size pizza made 1/2 and 1/2. I've always liked thin crust pizza the best and this one has a flavor I've never tasted on a pizza. It was very good. Service was good drinks are self serve. Not many tables. Got stuck in a corner. I placed my order online on May 13, 2017 8:46 pm and had a 9:12 pm pickup time. I arrived early, around 9 pm, walked in and sat down on the bench in front of the register and was not spoken to until 10 minutes after I walked in. Approximately 5-7 minutes into my wait, another couple entered the restaurant and was greeted and asked for their name while I still was not greeted. Around 9:10 pm, someone on the staff came out of the kitchen and asked for my last name. No hello, just "what is your last name?". I gave my last name and she went back into the prep area. Approximately two minutes later, the same staff member informed me that my large thin pizza with the works did not have extra sauce but they can give me extra sauce on the side. I did not order extra sauce on the side. I ordered extra sauce on my pizza. I was then told they can put the extra sauce on top of my pizza. At this point, I had enough. I said they can keep my 2 pizzas and my asiago cheese garlic bread. My wife and I frequent Danotos often in Lexington but will avoid the urge when visiting my hometown. Discourteous and unprofessional. I can live with a pizza mixup. I find the customer service and lack of an apology unacceptable. read more
