Truly some of the best pizza I've had anywhere. I've been to Pizza Culture 5 times now, and I'm impressed with their consistency. The crust is light but chewy, it's never over or under sauced, and they keep their classics while changing out a few items from time to time. Make sure to make reservations or go early or late because it's never not busy. The service is fine, nothing to write home about, but the food does all the work. Get the orange fennel salad as a nice accompaniment to the pizzas. You'll have to call me a regular soon with how often I'll keep coming back! read more

we were a party of four around 6:00 pm on a thursday and decided to take our chances as walk-ins, since there were no online reservations available. luckily, after a short wait, we were seated outdoors on their patio, and honestly, it was the perfect setting. the patio has a casual, laid back vibe with picnic style wooden tables, bright blue umbrellas for shade, and big barrel planters filled with fresh herbs and greens. there's even a cart out front stocked with cans of san marzano tomatoes and basil. you can smell the wood fired oven from outside, and the energy carries from the open doors straight to the sidewalk. we kicked things off with the crisp truffle fries, golden, well seasoned, with a tasty aioli and absolutely addictive. easily my the favourite bite of the night. the classic margherita pizza had good flavour and a nice balance of sauce and cheese, with basil, but the middle was a bit soggy. still enjoyable, just not as crisp as we expected. the prosciutto and arugula pizza was generous on toppings, san marzano tomato sauce, mozzarella, prosciutto, arugula, cherry tomatoes, and parmigiano reggiano. delicious, but leaned salty, we found ourselves reaching for water between bites. overall, a great casual hangout spot with a lively patio and crowd pleasing food. come early, grab a spot outside, and definitely don't skip the fries. read more

The staff were friendly and the location has a great neighborhood vibe. Unfortunately, the pizza fell a little flat. We were excited to visit as Pizza Culture is rated one of the best pies in Calgary and we LOVE wood fired pizza. The issue was with soggy crust in the middle of each pizza we ordered (D.O.B. Margherita and the Salsiccia w/ Rapini. The toppings were good but the soggy crust really took away from the experience. I'm not one to eat the back crust of my pizza; however, the sourdough dough was quite delicious. At the same time, my son and I only drank water and the staff was really slow to keep our glasses full. It was a hot day and the glasses are small. I suggest leaving carafes or pitchers on tables. Somewhat surprised at the lack of reviews. This place was packed on a Saturday. Pizza culture offers thin crust 11in pizzas (enough for 1 to 2 people depending on how hungry they are) - Prices for them are around $23 to $26. They have some appetizers as well but the focus is definitely pizza. The food is actually really good. No complaints on that. I got the mushroom pizza and liked it. They offer a few vegetarian pizza options but, the majority of the pizzas have some form of pork on it. No options with chicken or other meats. Everything tasted great. Service was good but, when there is a lot of people it can get slowed down a bit. Prices are on the higher side. The olive appetizer isn't really worth it for $8. read more

I was too busy enjoying our delicious pizza to take any pictures. We had the DOP and aloha. Both were great but the DOP had my insides feeling great pleasure and complete satisfaction. The staff were bright and friendly. They were all so polite and you could tell they work well as a team. Best service I've encountered since visiting the area. I love the atmosphere of this place. This is the soggiest pizza we have had in ages, totally overrated. we ordered two pizzas, the Coppa and the Silsiccia. The spice level was high with the sausage but very tasty. The Coppa was basically a soggy mess. Flavor ok, but SOGGY! I couldn't fold it even because it was just too wet. Not sure how they call themselves a proper Italian pizzeria with limp pizza like we were served. Service was ok but there was a table beside us that let their toddler walk on the table...in a reastaurant. The management seemed to ok with this. The place is loud and active, so if thats your thing... Don't waste your hard earned money here, much better Italian style pizza elsewhere. And at $50 for two pizzas, over priced for the product. Okay Napoletana pizza but not great. The mozzarella di buffala was too sparsely applied and I doubt it was real Italian. I do not like a pile of cheese on my pizza, which is why I detest Greek pizza. However, I do like some cheese, especially when I have to pay extra for it. The salami was sliced way too thick. Nothing wrong with the taste, it was just too thick to be easily chewed after cooking. The mushrooms were devoid of taste. The San Marzano tomato sauce was excellent and not too heavy on the salt. The pizza was soggy but that is because home delivery steams the crust in the box. It is not the fault of Pizza Culture. An toaster oven takes care of this in a hurry. Slice the salami thinner, use real Italian mozzarella di buffala, and source mushrooms with taste and I will give this a 4. Personally, I much prefer Azzurri, 7 blocks to the north on Edmonton trail. It is still better than almost every other pizza joint in this city. Places like Paul's, Atlas, and Matador are absolutely dreadful. I do not go to Italians for moussaka and I do not go to the Greeks for pizza. FYI, I love Greek food. I grew up in one of the largest Italian neighbourhoods outside of Italy and got spoiled. Thus, I am most picky on my pizza, bakery items, and processed meats. read more

The owner (Chef Jeremy) recommended his new creation... a squash base with Gorgonzola... it was the best pizza i've ever tasted (warning...you must like gorgonzola to appreciate it).
