It's been a while so I went back to try new foods. I got the gyros and chicken/bacon wrap. Gyros was very small and didn't have much in it. It did taste good, but very limited on what it has. The chicken pita and Turkey wrap were extremely delicious. Got a small Hawaiian pizza and it really hit the spot. The only disappointing piece (keeping this review from being 5 stars) was the gyro salad. Didn't find the gyro meat to have a ton of flavor. The service was great especially for how busy they were. Great pizza crust w the right sauce and fresh toppings -this is an easy choice for 5 stars. We ordered 6 large & then 2 smaller gluten-free crust. All were excellent. Twenty plus year customer until today 2/21/2025. And may never go back do to the rude way the owner's son treated me. I ordered a pizza came in to pick it up. A son of the owner waited on me. At the time I was not aware of the price increase since the last time I ordered a pizza. So I had questioned the correctness of the price of my pizza because it was more expensive than the last time I ordered that same pizza, Next he proceeded to tell me blame it on Biden. Pushing political views on a customer seems very unprofessional to me He then showed me in their menu a pizza called the King's Special which was the same as I ordered less some olives.. So I said maybe I will order the Kings special next time because that pizza is roughly 3 dollars less in price. This must have upset the owners son because when he took my money he never thanked me for my business all he did was insult me by saying he never seen such a complainer as me. then he turned his back to me and walked away,, If he treated me that way I'm thinking he treats other customers in the same rude and unprofessional way. You know what they say, "When in LaCrosse keep your expectations low and then everything will seem amazing." If that isn't an actual saying then it should be. LaCrosse could be really groovy, man. But, it still has a long way to go. So when we ordered from Pizza King we thought we might be getting some Pizza Hut quality pie. However, it was tasty. My boyfriend and I love pizza, but we get sick of the same old places so we like to try new spots we have never been! We have heard nothing but good things about pizza king so we finally decided to try it. We got the kings special, loaded with Italian sausage.. you get the choice of Italian sausage or beef...green peppers, onions, black olives.. you get the choice of green or black olives.. mushrooms.. your choice of fresh or canned. (I don't know anyone who would choose canned mushrooms, just sayin) We also had a coupon for a free cheesy bread so we got that also with a side of marinara. We called ahead and got our order for pick-up. Super friendly guy that took my order, great customer service! Even when we picked it up everyone seemed pretty friendly! There was a lot if people in there so that was a good sign! It's not a sit down type of place, very small building. You can either have them bake it for you there for an extra .50 or take it home and bake it. We had a few errands to run so we took it home to bake. The temperature for both the cheesy bread and the pizza was 425 so that was awesome. We baked them both at the same time and they were done about the same time! So convenient! I cooked the bread for about 18 minutes.. we like it crispy. I cooked the pizza for about 23 minutes. It wasn't quite done yet at 20 minutes but it was absolutely perfect at 23 minutes!! The pizza was amazing !! It was a little greasy but it was packed with toppings ! Kind of hard to eat, but still delicious!!! I ordered carry out on a weekday, I guess really you can only order carry out here, there's no seating and no delivery. I think the quality of the ingredients and the sauce are really very very good. From a price stand point it is on the upper end but for what you get it's certainly worth it. I got a vegetarian pizza with spinach, onion, black olive and it was great! They have premium toppings like artichoke hearts and some of their preselected items look really good. They also have gyros, wings, and subs but I did not try any of these on this visit. We just moved to the area and we're on a search for our go-to pizza joint. Pizza King was next on our list of places we wanted to try. To start, Pizza King is pretty much take out only. They have a small sitting area, but its mainly for waiting. They offer unbaked pies, which is a great idea for people leaving work (the location is very close to downtown) that have a drive ahead of them before they reach home. The place is clean and the employees are friendly. My main complaint is that they kinda nickle-and-dime you for everything. You want lettuce? That'll cost you 10cents. You want them to bake your pie? That'll be 50cents. You want hand tossed instead of thin? That'll be $3. Yeah, its not really that much, but it can add up and it seems silly. I guess your not paying for things that you don't want. The pie itself was "A-OK". Its what we've come to recognize as a mid-west style; bland toppings with an amazing amount of cheese on a very thick, doughy crust (we tried the hand tossed). These pies are very mealy and 1-2 slices will fill you up (I typically can eat a whole pie and still want more). The best thing at Pizza King are their Gyros. Make sure you pronounce them Heroes or they'll correct you on the phone (I've heard it called so many things that I typically try not to pronounce them and just point at the menu. On a side note, it always reminds us of the gazpacho skit from Red Dwarf). Anyway, they are perfect for take-out, but they do run a little small. By themselves, I'd want 2-3 for a meal. Overall, its a good place, but we'll continue our search for pizza. We will keep the King in mind for quick, take-out Gyros though. read more

If you want a great takeout pizza or sub this is your place. Every product is made fresh to order. The only down side I think is no delivery. Doesn't matter though as the food rarely takes longer than 20 minutes to make and it's always fresh and correctly made. This place is a staple for a reasons. 10 inch thin crust pizza. This is a very solid thin crust pizza. I will be trying the hand tossed without a doubt. The proportion of toppings is very uniform. The only complaint I have is that the pizza is slightly dry towards the outsides. The undercarriage looks great but could've been in longer. We have lived in la Crosse for a few years and have been on the lookout for good pizza places. We've tried the chains and a few smaller mom and pop places, but this is hands down the best we've ever had. It is a rarity that everyone likes the pizza in my house, but it was awesome. They are a bit pricey conspired to a few others around town but will worth it and not totally out off line. You can actually taste the difference having fresh ingredients make. The gyro was also awesome. It takes a few minutes longer to get your food but it is amazingly good food. read more

Pizza is thin crust but not a cracker crust. Toppings are generous, especially cheese. The sauce doesn't stand out on it's own but it is flavorful. I like the italian sausage, fresh mushroom (they give you a choice between fresh and canned) and green pepper. There are always coupons in the phone book, as well as attached to the covering of the 'Za that you will purchase.. I have always liked their pizza, as well as their gyros.
