At this point it was nearly an hr after the initial order was placed for a chz stk wrap, 20oz soda and cheese sticks. Food came cold and they forgot the soda. Mistakes happen I understand but the customer service and food quality was garbage. Cheesesticks were basically a weird bread cut in half w cheese slices melted and the wrap was an unseasoned sad excuse for a cheesesteak especially considering there was zero cheese in it. They offered a remake but considering the food was so poor I couldn't imagine remaking it hot would make a difference. A waste of $24 read more

This place used to be my favorite restaurant in town. Back in its prime I would have killed for their pizza. But now it's hardly even shell of its former self. Greed clearly took hold. One employee picked a few pepperoni off the pizza with her bare fingers, they then placed the pizza on the rack where they take individual slices for sale. Really poor take out experience on Thursday. Called in an order for a pierogie pizza and a Stromboli for takeout and was told it would be ready in 30-35 minutes. Arrived 30 minutes later and paid and the counter and was told my order was still in the oven and would be ready in a few minutes. About 5 minutes later I watch the young kid who they were calling, Zach make a pierogie pizza and put it in the oven, but didn't think much of it because it is a popular item. However, after stand there for 15 -20 minutes and then watching someone remove the pizza and box it, I realized that was my pizza. A few minutes later Zach puts a Stromboli in the oven so I ask the girl who rang me up if that was my Stromboli that just went into the oven. She said it wasn't and that my order was being boxed up and then she went and said something out of earshot to another lady who then said something to Zach and he just shrugged. Needless to say I spent over a half hour just at the restaurant waiting and it was over an hour from the time I placed the order til the time I got my food. They tried to rush the Stromboli so it wasn't even cooked in the middle. If the food is going to take an hour tell me on the phone, don't make me drive there and stand around and keep lying about the status of my order. Poor customer service! read more

Poor experience from start to the upset-stomach finish. Order was placed in advance for pickup. At pickup, came to the counter & was ignored by 3 different staff members moving in & out around the counter for about 3-4 minutes. Order was a medium pizza, garlic parm fries, fried ravioli, deluxe steak & cheese, & stromboli. Had to recite the order top-to-bottom for the staff member who finally came to assist me. Brought food home. The deluxe steak and cheese was anything but deluxe. Lots of bread, barely any meat, and no cheese. The Garlic Parm fries did not appear cooked and were just soaked in oil -literally a quarter inch of oil in the bottom of the tin- if you bit the fries it was just an explosion of oil. The chicken & cheese melted on top was dry and greasy. The fried ravioli was dry and tasteless. The pizza was "OK," but also wet and greasy. The stromboli was "OK," but the sauce was very very bad. When I tried to call to report these problems, phone rang & then disconnected without a person answering. Will never ever recommend or return again. read more

Have ordered pizza here for a few years now. Quality is normally ok to good but at times it is inconsistent with uneven crust thickness and varying topping amounts from week to week. Having said that, tonight was a total disaster and likely a game ender for me. I called and ordered 2 X-Large pepperoni pizzas for pickup, gave my name and phone number, was given the price with tax, and was told 35-40 minutes they would be ready. That was at 4:48PM. My wife went to pick up the pizzas at 5:30PM and was told there was no order there under our name. She was told they had no record of the order. She came home and told me and I was livid. We were all hungry and tired and wanted supper. I called back to complain and was told the same thing, until the person then realized she misheard my name and wrote it wrong and our pizzas were there and I could come get them. I said no and wanted 2 fresh pizzas as it was already over a half an hour they must have been sitting there. After much arguing I was told they would make me 2 fresh pizzas and it would be 30-45 minutes and hung up on me. I called back immediately and said I would be over in 15 minutes for my FRESH pizzas. This was at 5:52PM per my call logs. I went over at 6:20 to pick them up. I was given two "fresh" pizzas that were on top of the HOT ovens. If these were two fresh pizzas, they must have gone from the ovens to the fridge and back as the grease and cheese was already congealing. Needless to say, I was in no position to refuse the pizzas right then as they were our supper for tonight. I reluctantly paid for them (wasn't comped or even offered a discount for their screwup) and went home to eat my cold "fresh" pizzas. Cripe, I had to nuke my slices to make them palatable. It is very unlikely we will be buying any pizza or other food from Pizza Man's Pizza for a very long time, if ever again. There are just too many other pizzerias in the neighboring area that offer quality product and superior customer service to spend my hard-earned money here again. read more

I stopped by here yesterday by myself to pick up some to go pizzas for my wife and her family. They were having a yard sale and we were talking about ordering pizza whenever one of the customers chimed in that we should try pizza mans pizza. After a quick look on Yelp we agreed to order from there. My only problem at this point is that I couldn't find a menu anywhere, not on Yelp or Facebook. So instead of placing the order over the phone I headed in to place it in person. The restaurant itself looked pretty nice as it had ample seating and then a number of pizzas (5 I think) that you could order slices from. After looking at the menu I ultimately decided on an XL (18") cheese pizza as well as an XL margherita pizza. Around 15 minutes later my pizzas were ready and I was headed home. Once at home we opened the pizzas and they both looked pretty good. I first tried a slice of the plain cheese pizza and I would be lying if I said I was anything other than disappointed. While the crust was thin and crispy the cheese wasn't very flavorful and the sauce was a bit more watery than I would have liked. If I was judging the pizza based only on this pizza it would have only scored 2-3 stars. Thankfully the margherita pizza was light years better. It has the same thin and crispy crust and for some reason had a different sauce which was a lot thicker and tasted nicely of basil. The cheese on this pizza was also a whole lot more flavorful and i couldn't stop eating it. Unlike the cheese pizza if I had to rate this pizza by itself it would have gotten 5 stars as it was really delicious. The bottom line for me is that I would head back here again in the future. I probably wouldn't order the plain cheese pizza again but instead would only order the margherita pizza. read more

As a whole I'd give this place 4/5 star but they have the best tuna and cheese hoagie I've ever had. You got to get it hot though. We have a widely disproportionate ratio of pizza joints in Johnstown, and I can say that I still have a few I want to try, but Pizza Man is my go to! Their cheese is so good and I love getting it shredded cold on my salad too! Their sauce is nice and sweet with a little kick. Their margarita pizza is my favorite. Their homemade bread is delicious too and we like ordering their buffalo chicken sandwich on it. My only reason for 4 stars and not 5 is that I do think they are just a little too pricey, but it is good quality so that may just be me. read more
