It is about a block away from the beach, has the that local-scene type of vibe where people show up in their golf carts or on their bikes. The location has both outdoor and indoor seating. And those of you who are like me that is sometimes cold but also likes the outdoor area, they have seats that give you the best of both worlds. The menu is simple but yet it has variety within its options. They offer pizza, wings, appetizers like tater tots, mozzarella sticks, and such. I think they even offer salads but let's be honest, I am there for the wings. There is something about their crispy freshly made wings that makes you just want to devour them. They offer teriyaki, buffalo and bbq wings. The best part? On Wednesdays they have a special where the wings are 75 cents. Actually, I lied . The best part, is the 5 dollar beers they offer when the Padres are playing. Our favorite go to is the Amigo-Lager. The staff is super friendly and they even offer military and teacher discounts. the only downside is that parking is limited but there is plenty of street parking. read more

Pizza is delicious but I wish they were a bit better about the toppings! We got the Monterey pizza which has mushrooms and artichokes, on a large pizza we counted 6 small shards of artichoke We ordered up at the counter "to-go" and the tall guy at the register conveniently forgot about us... We waited for 35 minutes and finally went up to the counter to ask where our food was...and he told us "they're still working on it." Which I didn't take for an answer and glad I didn't... because I made him double check with the guys in the kitchen. Our pizza was DONE and had been sitting in the warming oven...... We've tried quite a few pizza places around IB and Coronado, and Pizza Port is definitely top-notch when it comes to the overall experience. The ambiance was great, the service was friendly, and the food was excellent across the board. She ordered a pizza with regular dough, light cheese, extra sauce, and extra baked, and it came out cooked perfectly. I tried the beer pizza dough. The vibe here is what really makes it stand out. Music is on point, there are little games to keep kids or anyone entertained and it feels like a place you can kick back and stay awhile. Service was also a highlight the cashier was super nice and the rest of the staff were friendly and helpful which always makes a difference. Met some friends here on a Friday night. The place was slammed but service was quick and friendly. The food came out hot and exactly as ordered and it was easy to grab beers from the bar area. The arcade games were good entertainment for the kids, especially the duck one where everyone is a winner. Other patrons were friendly. Came here for a chill night, and a chill night was had. We ordered two pizzas - the Carlsbad Pizza, and Imperial Beach Pizza, and both hit the spot. Obviously, I didn't get a photo of the Carlsbad pizza before we dove in. The Carlsbad Pizza has chicken, artichoke hearts, sun dried tomatoes on top of pesto base. Absolutely delicious. The imperial beach pizza had a nice sweet touch thanks to the hot honey sauce. The hearts of palm were an interesting touch, but overall this pizza was great. What made it more frustrating was seeing people who arrived after me get their orders first. I kept kindly asking the employees when my order would be ready, but I never got a clear answer. There were mistakes made with my order that caused the delay, and I felt like I was left waiting without any communication. I understand that mistakes happen, but waiting an hour for my food was disappointing. My Sister and Brother-in-Law came to visit us in San Diego and we have never been to the Pizza Port in Imperial Beach and we needed to leave our place for a few hours. Perfect opportunity! We took the 30 minute drive down there and this Pizza Port has a great patio for outside dining. We walked the pier first and then walked into the establishment right when it opened. This pizza port is the only one with BBQ, so I had to try some, so along with my pizza of the day (Jalapeno and bacon) and Caesar salad, I ordered a bbq pork sandwich and a side of baked beans. I ordered a Grapefruit Punch IPA and sat down to enjoy. The BBQ was pretty good, the Buffalo Sauce was a nice touch, just the right amount of heat. The baked beans were very meh, some added pork would have been a nice touch. The pizza was amazing as always and the crispy bits of bacon were plentiful, and the Caesar salad was fresh as always with their wonderful croutons and Caesar dressing. The beer was spectacular, and I ordered the $4 5k IPA from Carlsbad to be my second beverage. Not sure we will drive to Imperial Beach again when the Ocean Beach one is a lot closer and one of our favorite pizza parlors in the worls, but this is another stellar Pizza port addition. read more

We ordered a pepporoni and sausage medium pizza. It came with only pepperoni. We did let the cashier know this. Some time passed and When the pizza came back this is what it looked like. Which was fine. Until we realized they gave us the same pizza and just threw all that cooked sausage on top and it was the same pizza and cold. The pizza looked cold the first time it came up. Once u pick up a slice all the sausage falls off and what you're left with is cold pepperoni pizza. The cooks didn't even attempt to maybe add and recook the pizza, no. What is not pictured were the wings that were also cold that we received before the pizza. 4/5 for all of our other visits and excellent customer service as cashiers are always so nice and friendly . We ate 2 total slices before we threw the whole rest of the pizza out bc who's cooking cold pizza with sausage thrownon top rolling around. I feel like our whole order was cooked for another order and left and gave to us. The amount of sausage also was a crazy amount of waste. We kind of just felt like it was here u go. I want to start off this review with: our family LOVES Pizza Port. However - likely will never come back to this location. We arrived at 6:30pm on a Saturday and it was poppin - which we expected. However, as I'm trying to give the young girl my order she texting - like right in front of me. Trying to pay and the card reader isn't working, she's texting - not even trying to hide it. Next, we see folks who came in much later than us get their pizzas - at this point it's been 30m. So I go up to check to see what's up - they got our order wrong and had to redo it. Fine, all good. A heads up would have been cool, but I'm easy. I sit back down wait another 30m, go up again. The girls up front are dancing and chatting - Cool. I like to socialize when working too! But, look alive ladies! I'm not trying to yuck anyone's yum, so I don't interrupt their dance party - I just stand there until someone acknowledges me. They say pizza is coming, I just hang there. 15m (1hr 15m total) later I get the messed up pizza (wait - it was done? Could have just gave it to me when I came up the first time) and the correct pizza (cool, two pizzas. Thanks). Then - as I have my 4yr old at my side and two pizzas in my hand I ask for plates - because this order was for dine-in...and AGAIN these young ladies are just chatting. Moving at a snails pace - or just not paying attention at all - to hand over 4 plates. All I want is 4 plates! I feel like this is a sign of getting older, you value good service over other elements of dining out. And the service here just sucked. The only ones who were quick, attentive and had their stuff together were the beer crew. I mean even the dude wiping down tables and bussing had more wherewithal than the ladies taking food orders. Okay. Here goes. New place trying to get it right. Currently missing the mark but has real potential. Took 45 minutes from getting in line to getting to go order. I told the young lady of the time wait and she said "No, only 35 minutes". I pointed out to her that was the time they put in the order and that it took 10 Minutes to give the order due to chaos behind the counter and she looked at me like a deer in the headlights. No apologies. No understanding. Just an argumentative employee. FAIL Tried to order online. The company site doesn't even list the location even though they have been open for a month. FAIL Asked the cashier what's up with the online site and she said it's messed up and they are behind. FAIL. They gave me a disc that would vibrate when order is ready. Ordered the food and waited. Saw other people order and get their food. Walked up and asked the status of order as it has been 35 minutes. Told "Another 15 minutes". 10 minutes later they announce my name. Walk up and go to get pizza. They just hand it to me without checking if it's my order. I give them the disc and tell them it never signaled. Their response "Yeah, they don't work to good". FAIL Had a beer at the rail while waiting. Only one rail. Lines to the door. 3 servers but only one register. Total mayhem. I counted 12 employees with 6 actually working and 6 looking around waiting for Jesus to arrive. Again, total cluelessness. In the middle of a rush they decide to change out cash drawers. ALL STOP! WTF! Nice job managers..assuming the guys in the extra large t-shirts were the managers who were seemingly oblivious to the situation. Finally got the pizzas. $57 for 2 mediums plus tip puts it at $77. Both were ho-hum at best. Order a thin crust and it was no different than the regular crust which was thick as Beyoncé. They have the potential to be good. Not sure if they can be great. They are out of control in the front of the house with weak customer service and attention to detail. Back of the house doesn't follow orders and their POS is a POS. MANAGEMENT PLEASE READ THIS: Don't become a typical IB pizza place that is known for mediocre pizza and warm beer. You can be a destination. An oasis in the food desert that is IB if you will only give that little extra. A tip: The extra mile is never crowded. GO THE EXTRA MILE! read more
