I went to a soft opening on Saturday 6/6/26. I had been driving past it just waiting for it to open. The wait was worth it! They offered me a free slice to sample their sauce, which I gladly eccepted. The sauce had good flavor, not too sweet or bitter. I liked the slice so much a bought a pizza to take home.I purchased the Del Mar Deluxe, which came with Italian sausage, Pepperoni,mushrooms, green peppers, onions and black olives to go. I brought it home and my son and myself had it for dinner. The vegietables were fresh, the black olives were not bitter, it had big pieces of Italian sausage and pepperoni had good flavor. I purchased it with the classic crust with garlic drizzle on crust. I learned the best way to reheat is to use a large skillet on top of stove. The crust turned out just like a fresh one. It was very "Delish". I highly recommend this new Diego's Pizza and now have a new pizza place that is close to me and makes a yummy pizza! First time trying this new place and I am very impressed. The inside is all new and super clean. They also had coffee's, soft serve,slushy's and a bunch of munchies for sale from Häagen-Dazs to hostess dingdongs along with all kinds of different candies. OK now let's get to what I really went there for. I got a large two topping pizza with regular pepperoni and old world pepperoni. As soon as I got it in the car I knew it was going to be good. The smell coming from the closed box was incredible. Let me tell you it did not disappoint. From the dough, the sauce, the pepperoni everything was flavorful and a perfect crispy crust that held up, no flop!. I literally just finished my fourth slice and had to write this review. My girlfriend and I have been on the look out for a good hot honey pizza and of all the places near us this place takes first no questions asked. After ordering and choosing a seat we quickly received complementary slushee samples. A gentlemen served us the slushees, a kind lady brought plates to us, all things we didn't expect at a pizza joint. The place had a very comfortable ambiance, Im known for feeling awkward in public but my partner and I were comfortable to just talk and laugh. I had placed an order pickup but when I got there she said she was going to make it fresh. I was like okay and since I was patiently waiting, the employee added some cinnasticks. She also gave me a popsicle. She was so sweet, she was an older lady. This was my first time here and she made it a memorable experience. A wonderful experience. Great vibes and the people there are very kind. Food is wonderful, great pricing and positioning within the competition. Great place for pizza takeout, a quick lunch -- they even got chairs in the place to sit and eat. Great pizza! Best in Chula Vista by far. If you are the kind of person who leaves the crust in the box, this place will change the way you eat! The crust was lite and crispy. I bought a medium which was good for a family of 3. They have a huge candy bar and ice cream options. Fair pricing. Only draw back was there is no seating area to dine in.
