Pizza time is a classic staple in Coral Springs! It's been here for decades and the quality never disappoints. If you want a good quality pizza to order whether dining in or taking out, this is the best option in town! They also have fantastic chicken Caesar salads too we got for an appetizer. Word on the street is that Pizza Time isn't what it used to be. Naturally, I had to investigate--think of me as the Indiana Jones of mozzarella. Instead of overcomplicating things with toppings that sound like a farmer's market exploded, I went back to basics: a couple slices of cheese pizza. Mark Twain once said, "The report of my death was an exaggeration." The same applies here. Pizza Time is alive and kicking. The moment I picked up that thin slice and felt the oil slide down my arm like a runaway slip 'n slide... that's pizza heaven, baby. The crust? Perfectly crisp with just the right chew. The sauce? Tangy, flavorful, like it actually came from tomatoes and not a science lab. The cheese? A golden, gooey blanket that made me want to write it a thank-you note. Now, fair is fair: the slices could've been hotter. They came out more "lukewarm handshake" than "piping hot high-five." But the flavors and textures were all dialed in. This is pizza the way pizza is supposed to be--simple, messy, and so good you don't mind doing laundry afterward. And these slices? They're enormous. You don't just "grab two"--you sign a waiver. Traditional Italian decor easily noticed by driving along on Sample Road. The front patio was lined with small tables with Romanesque sculpted cement bases. Two old Roman statues proudly guard the entrance. The interior decor continues that old Italian theme. Phenomenol lunch special which included two mega sized slices of cheese pizza and a fountain drink for $7.00. The pizza was lightly sauced hidden beneath a moderate layer of cheese. The undercarriage was lightly charred that added to a nice crunchy first bite. Although very tasty, no garlic was evident. Sprinkled on some red pepper flakes for a little kick. Tons of seating in three rooms and a private area for large gatherings with catering offered. We were invited to a 70th birthday party here at 2 pm on Sunday. We occupied the private back room which housed about 25 of us. I was pleasantly surprised how wonderful this was. The two waiters handled the entire service with ease. We had Carte Blanche with anything we wanted to eat. So the six of us sitting at the end ordered a large pizza- half regular and half meatball. It was great! Just like NY pizza. Then we each ordered our entrees. The portions were double sized. Paul had the veal Francaise with linguine and I had chicken Scarpariello. Everyone was very happy. We had garlic knots on the table. Very fresh and delicious cannolis were served with your choice of coffee. We had decaf cappuccino. The restaurant also serves wine and beer. Went on a Sunday evening. The place was not very busy. The service was great. Our waitress was Paula. The food was great. We had the the puttanesca with linguine it was delicious. A great sizable serving. Served hot served fresh! The ambience is a little dark and dated. for me. The table cloths are brown like plastic, in terms of hygiene and cleanliness I don't think it's the best choice for a restaurant. I think it'd be nice if they freshened it up with Tablecloths that can be sanitized & washed. even if they wanted to keep with the old style restaurant decorations, use a red checkerboard cloth. We love coming here. The service is great. We were greeted quickly - drinks, apps and entrees arrived fast. Our server came back multiple times to take dishes away, refill drinks and make sure we were good. We came around 5pm and it wasn't busy so we got seated quickly. This is the second time for me to dine at this location. Both times have been a great experience! The team members working are more than happy to accommodate different requests. The ambiance is dim lighting, not in a romantic way, however the lights are bright like a cafeteria. In my book, this is wonderful. The food is plentiful and pretty much impossible to finish. So basically you have two meals in one. Two people order the chicken caprese, and could not finish, and the other person order a chicken dish. that loooked like it could feed four people easily. The restaurant was busy, however we were seated right away. The fried mozzarella came with three large portions. The four of us were able to have plenty. Everyone at the table enjoyed their dinner and everyone brought home the other half of their order. I will be back again, for sure. So will our friends that said they had never been here too. Went to Pizza Time on Sample Road which a lot of people have been raving about. It was very busy and it was a nice place. Ordered an eggplant Panini that came out of the cooler, pre prepared, and returned it twice since the inside was ice cold. I was shocked. After the 3rd time it was finally hot, but lost my appetite. I know a lot of people are going to say now that it is a good restaurant , again it was very busy, but if you can't get that Panini right, no sense in going back. We have been here for dine in, and it was outstanding. However tonight was our first time with takeout. It was $35 for a large pizza with all the toppings. It was tough crust and when we bit into it... a brillo steel wool little sliver. I called to let them know, and the person who answers the phone seemed to not care in the least. When I said we found it, she was silent and after a few seconds said,"...oookkkaayyyy????" I asked her if she should go tell someone. She was silent again. As a kid and young adult, I'd frequently go to Pizza Time for all my Italian cravings. However, after the pandemic and inflation hit, it seems that we stopped going as frequently as we used to. Going inside, the interior hasn't changed too much since I've been here last; although, I miss the old city landmarks on the tables and grapevines hanging from the walls. For dinner, we got 1x spaghetti & meatballs with a side creamy Italian salad and 1x eggplant rollatini with a side minestrone soup. Moving on with my review, the food tonight was very good! The salad came with fresh, prepared veggies and had a nice tangy, creamy Italian dressing. The minestrone also possessed nice veggies and taste but felt to me that it was missing some aromatics in the broth. As for the entrees; the meatballs and spaghetti came with tender meatballs, vibrant red sauce, and perfectly cooked angel hair. The rollatini was the star of the show as it was fried to perfection, stuffed with creamy ricotta and savory ham filling and topped with that delicious red sauce! The garlic rolls were dry on top and not super garlicky, which was a slight let down. Overall, despite a few critiques, the food was delicious overall. I was so happy I found this place. I came here for a networking lunch and had no idea this place even existed. I don't live too far and I'm a fan of Italian so I was intrigued to check it out. On the outside it does not look like much but when you enter you get transported into a Italian-esqe atmosphere, the decor is really nice, with age looking bricks on the inside and they decorated to look like little windows. I ordered their Italian sandwich that came on a ciabatta bun and it was delicious. The Italian sandwich really had everything you were looking for and then some. I will definitely be coming back to try more of the menu. read more

Excellent All Around! It was our first time visiting and were so happy we did. We walked in and sat ourselves down in one of the back tables. There was a group of people at one long table celebrating a woman's 91st birthday, which was very nice to see. Our waiter Jose L., was superb! He was fast, friendly, and very aware of our food needs. We ordered baked clams and toasted ravioli as an appetizer. We then ordered an order of Veal Francaise and a Grandma Pizza Pie. The veal was extra tender with a perfectly tasting franchaise sauce. The Grandma pizza had a very savory taste and probably one of the best I've had. The garlic knots were so good and not very greasy. It's time to update my review from nine years ago. I have been here twice in the past six months. One visit was for a quick lunch, and the second time was for a party of seven adults and a baby. I stopped in for a quick lunch, and I ordered a slice of Grandma's pizza and a bottle of water. I haven't been here since before the pandemic, and I was glad that the pizza was just as good as I remembered it. Portions decreased, the food quality decreased, and the majority of our food was underwhelming. We had mussels, Greek salad, spaghetti with bolognese sauce, chicken parm with vodka sauce, and two other pasta entrées. The mussels were delicious and large, probably the largest I have ever seen, and I order mussels a lot. The marinara sauce was very good, too, but it was unfortunate that we each only received five. They gave us copious amounts of sauce, but just five mussels. It's really not worth the price. The garlic rolls were dry with barely any garlic or oil. I asked for another basket with garlic and oil, but that batch wasn't any better. Fresh rolls would have been perfect to soak up the bowls of marinara sauce, but that didn't happen. My mom enjoyed her bowl of pasta fagioli soup. The Greek salad had very little feta cheese and olives, and even though it was fresh, it needed more feta at the very least. Our two servers worked very well together and were friendly and helpful. Prices were sort of high, and like many other restaurants, they are charging a credit card surcharge. I think it's three percent, but I am not sure. My favorite part of dinner was the chocolate layer cake. The slice was large enough for us all to have a small piece. It's amazing and totally sinful. In fact, I would go back just for the cake. It's that good! I would recommend this restaurant for two things and two things only; pizza and chocolate fudge cake. No valet parking, but they have their own lot, so parking is easy, and reservations are accepted. read more

Would have loved to give more stars but the Coral Springs Pizza Time is just not the same as I remember. Besides needing major upgrades in their decor, the food was average at best. Soup was warm and the eggplant appetizer was served on a bed of lettuce?? I had the Chicken Rollatini and it was way too salty drowning in gravy. Son had Spaghetti Puttanesca and wife had Eggplant and both were not like it used to be. Waiter needs to know more about their wine and should make sure they bring out the right bottle. Unfortunately, Pizza Time has gone downhill over the last year or two. I did takeout about a year ago and the Shrimp Fra Diavolo and the Grilled Chicken Parmesan were delicious. When I ate there the other night, the food was not good nor was the service. The Pasta Fagioli Soup was good. However, the Grilled Chicken Parmesan was awful -- there was a bone in a piece of my "boneless" chicken and the texture was very off. I've lived in Coral Springs for 12 years and have never been to or gotten pies from Pizza Time. And while this is not stylistically the type of pizza I usually like to get (on the rare instances Rachel wants to go out pizza as we typically now bake our own), this is a pretty good pie for what it is. When you've been open since 1979, you are doing something right. I believe the original owner sold it to a new owner 15 or so years ago, he now runs a place in Boca (I think also called Pizza Time), and his son owns Heritage in FtL, which is a James Beard award-winning Italian and pizza place (I haven't been to it yet and please don't ask me when I'm going, I can't get to everything). It looks like a throwback place up from the front (because it is?), with Roman statues in the parking lot and a Roman soldier guarding the entrance to the dining room, which is in a Tuscan style with painted brick with scenes of Italy, and wooden cross-hatch fencing suspended from the ceiling with synthetic grape vines in it. Probably was decorated in the 1980s. Customers dining in are mostly older (50s-60s) and families. The hardware also looks from the 1980s, possibly a 90s refresh, with six decks of Vulcan-style gas putting out an impressive amount of heat. They don't make them like this anymore, and you would rarely see a pizza place install that many decks now. This was a big build for the time. I sat at the bar in the dining room area to the right of the entrance and watched various plates come out. The standards, like pasta in white clam sauce and the red sauce plates, looked good. Good to know, but I was not there for that. Calzones are also nice and big. I violated all my own rules for testing a new pizza place because I was by myself -- instead of a plain or single topping pie, I went for a large meat lovers, loaded with ham, pepperoni, sausage, bacon, AND meatballs, and ordered it well-done. Look, there are worse life choices you can make than this, and if this is the worst decision I make all week, I'm good with it. The skill of the main pizza guy, Angelo, a large muscular, imposing, bearded biker-type dude wearing a do-rag/bandana (I think the entire baking crew wears them to deal with the output from the Vulcans) is evident. I will note that he does not like it when you take pictures of his work up front while he is working. I apologized for scaring him, to which he then replied, "You don't scare me," and I said, "Well, you're bigger than me." This seemed to disarm him. I started off with a side Ceasar. It's well-dressed, and you taste the anchovy. For a local pizza joint, it's better than the ones many restaurants serve locally with Ceasars on their menus. Croutons are fresh and crispy; I couldn't tell if they made them or not. I watched a bunch of pies come out, both traditional "NY" style round and "grandmas," which this place is known for and I probably should have gotten. They look good. I was frightened by what came out. It's a big pie, the meat lovers. Because of the massive pile of ingredients, you're not gonna get the completely cooked-through effect in the center, so this is a toaster oven reheater type of slice, and you will most definitely hit it with a knife and fork, or you will be wearing it. I got a quick shot of the underskirt, and given all the stuff on the top, it was evenly baked on the bottom. I ate one slice and got it down with a large Pellegrino because I finished most of my salad. I boxed the rest. Please don't do what I did unless you've first experienced a simple pie here. The crust has a nice fermentation, although it has a sweetness, so they may be adding a little sugar/malt to it, although that could be the caramelization effect when baking and the fermentation itself. The sauce is also sweeter-style; the cheese is a Grande or something similar. read more
