I've been a customer for years and know this is not the original owners. My review now is based on the last 3 meals (can't say I didn't give them a chance). First meal Chicken Sorrentino have fun trying to find the eggplant and the prosciutto plus sauce was like they just poured it out of a can of tomato's. Second meal: Eggplant Parmigiana well I guess there was eggplant but it was ricotta & mozzarella cheese with thick again tomato sauce on top. Third time & it is the last Eggplant Rollatini it was breadcrumbs stuffed with ricotta (no seasoning to the ricotta) topped with again a what looked and tasted like paste. Except for seeing some seeds I'd never know eggplant was even in it. After years and more than giving them a chance I'm DONE. Came here from a strong recommendation from a coworker. I suppose that the pizza is edible... not much else. The calamari smelled fishy as soon as we got in the car. We had to drive with the windows down. Extra crispy - typically is crispy, these were still blonde. You can't get a refund if you order online, only a credit which is incredibly unhelpful when you are visiting from out of town. The last thing I want to do is come here to get more food. Also ordered the lasagna, and fettuccine alfredo lunch. The lasagna was okay, the sauce just seemed like a can of crushed tomatoes there was little to no seasoning. I am really disgusted with Ferros . I thought they were a good restaurant. They burn garlic. They didn't give us 30% off and their orders if it was salmon or snapper one was big and small. To start with normally I love coming here for the early bird dinners now called the fixed price dinners. I come to Ferro's with a group of friends and we have been patronizing this restaurant for years. While it is normally very enjoyable and the food good, tonight they dropped the ball completely and I hope it was a one-time thing, because another night like this one and I will not be coming back. The biggest problem was the server. He must be new because I have never seen him there before. It took him forever to get the drinks strait and then we waited more than thirty minutes for our salads, and I had to ask another employee for them. One bite into the salad and they were serving the soup. I ordered the Lasagna, which is not my usual go to, but I wanted to try it. I was immediately sorry I ordered it because it was so heavy I couldn't eat more than a few bites of it. When I have seen Lasagna served here before it came out bubbling, this one the cheese was not even melted all the way on top, and it was cold inside. Considering it was now well over an hour that we were sitting there that was surprising. The taste of the food was also sub-par; I could have made it better at home. The garlic rolls were the one shining star of the entire meal. On top of everything else the air conditioning was apparently not working because it was extremely warm and uncomfortable. These dinners come with Spumoni for dessert, which is good quality and something we all look forward to. The waiter then announces the Spumoni has melted and they have to wait for a new one to defrost. It was one issue after another and after sitting there in the hot room with bad food for almost two hours we finally had to ask another server to get our checks. I paid cash and tipped more than this waiter deserved just to get out of there. Ferro's should train their servers better rather than unleashing this disaster on unsuspecting customers. We have never had such bad service at Ferro's as we did tonight. Usually, it is pleasant and efficient, and normally you can count on excellent food. I don't know if they lost their chef or what, but the wait staff is a bunch of kids, and I doubt very seriously that he had any serving experience. If I had not had so many good experiences there in the past, I would never return after what we had tonight. Please Ferro's, fix this. read more

BLAND!! We've had a couple of pizzas from Ferro's before so we thought we'd try a couple of veal parm dinners, so we ordered online. First off, they forgot to include the salads that were supposed to come with the meal and did not discover they were not with the order until the order was home. The garlic rolls were burnt on the top and literally dry dough. The Ziti's sauce was so bland and watery, zero taste. Chef Boy Ar Dee has more flavor. The Ziti tasted like it came from a box and was not made in house. The Veal's marinara sauce was not fresh, it was caking up. The veal itself was tasty. Hardly any cheese on the veal. Really disappointed with the food and service. After calling about the missing salads, they offered to credit us for them on our next visit. NFW will we ever spend another dime there. For that kind of money for take-out, you expect and rightfully demand better. read more

Takeout review: I had takeout from there so many times. The portions were always huge, the food was always good, and great value too. The entree I've had time and time again is their chicken francese dinner. OMG delectable! The sauce is lemony and rich over tender meat and pasta. The garlic rolls were also superb, super garlic-y, oily (in a good way), and flavorful. Our experience is from the takeout perspective. We got a large pizza with pepperoni and sausage, and 2 dinner pasta entrees. One fettuccine Alfredo with chicken, and another pasta with clam . The sausage on the pizza was a little different but overall an okay pizza. The fettuccine Alfredo with chicken lacked so much flavor, and same for the clam pasta. The best part of the order was the garlic rolls and Minestrone soup. Would I order here again? Not for the price point. My recommendation for the restaurant would be to rethink the seasonings and double it. read more

About a year ago, I went with a group of friends. I have to eat for medical reasons, gluten-free and processed dairy free and no meat. I am not celiac, but still get sick when I eat gluten. Their suggestion for me was a bowl of minestrone soup. They said all I would have to do is pick out the pasta. It took me a while to painstakingly scoop out little tiny, tiny, tiny pieces of pasta from the soup. When I was finished, there was about a quarter to not quite a half of soup left with two little pieces of a vegetable. It was peas or string beans, and a tiny piece of carrot. This group of friends want to go again in a couple of weeks. They can all eat whatever they want. To be able to go because it's a birthday I the menu and I also called the I know that they could not accommodate my diet at all. Called a second time and ask for the manager who also said they can't accommodate me. I ask if I could bring gluten-free breadcrumbs from home so they could make something that was gluten-free for me. The answer was no. I am now going to tell my friends that I am not willing to sit and watch them eat without me being able to eat a meal as well. So I will not participate Or I will find an It does have a decent gluten-free options. is it for a restaurant to at least have some gluten-free pizza crust in freezer for people like me. All they would have to do the toppings just as they do the other pizzas. If this is the way they treat their customers. Came here the other day, since I was born this place has been here. One day on my lunch break, decided to try out their two slices and drink lunch combo. The girl who is at the register was nice at first, but then she gave me a cup for the soda fountain that they have. I proceeded to get ice and go press the lever for the Dr.Pepper and there was a cob web with a dust bunny of some sort. I had asked the girl instead of the fountain drink if I can have a bottled drink instead. I told her the soda fountain was dusty & she said I'd have to charge you extra sorry...... not even a sorry that it was dusty. I sucked it up & got the cleanest one I found. The early bird specials are numerous. It includes soup - I had the chicken orzo and it was filled with both chinks of white chicken and loads of perfectly cooked orzo , the broth had so much flavor. I ordered the Caesar salad for an up charge but it is was well worth it's the salad was cold and crisp, the croutons were seasoned and crunchy and the dressing homemade. The garlic rolls were generously covered with chunks of garlic but not overly oiled. My chicken Marsala was delicious the sauce sweet with a thickening of flour from the very thin slice chicken fillets. Instead of pasta I asked for broccoli and it arrived covered in garlic slices with a light oil coating that did not take away the flavoring of the broccoli cooked to perfection. For dessert we are going to enjoy the spumoni as part of the early bird menu and it was yummy. read more

I have to say the prices are very affordable. As usual the place was clean and the food was authentic Italian, but I miss seeing Mrs Ferro every time I walked in (enjoy your much-deserved retirement!). I used to come here weekly when i was in college... so i was really surprised that over 10 yrs later they are still around! I placed an order for garlic rolls, a cheese pizza, and the meat balls. Pizza and garlic rolls were just as cheesy and delicious as i remember it! Didn't love the meatballs but they weren't bad either... Just next to the pizza and rolls its really hard to stand out. This fixture in the community is one of our favorite Italian restaurants. They have been making delicious Italian food for over 30 years. We usually head over for the early bird. Prices range from $13-$15 with entrees such as chicken parm, salmon, lasagna, etc. It also comes with a drink, soup, salad and dessert. And on Monday's ladies get free wine! The portions are so huge, you will have lunch the next day. All the food is fresh and tasty. The service is always fast and friendly. This is our local go-to for Italian food. read more

I eat here pretty frequently with my 7 year old son because I live 5 blocks from Ferros. I usually just order the pizza to go or pizza by the slice which is always great. Today I also ordered the meatball appetizer and half a dozen garlic rolls as well. The meatballs were huge but so bad. Worst meatballs I've ever had from a restaurant. I cut into them and my son's exact words were ,"dad something smells like plastic". Sure enough they had a very weird taste, what I imagine hot plastic would taste like. They didn't taste like beef. Garlic rolls were just "meh". Young man who waited on us was great. I told him to tell cook how bad meatballs were and he asked me if I wanted to them removed from bill. Nice dinner with friends at this small family restaurant. It has been here at least 39 years and is family owned. Through the years I've been here several times. Tonight's dinner was really good, for 75% of us. Two chicken Parmesan were really good. The salmon had a fancy name- it was done with a small amount of a light red sauce with 2 clams and 2 shrimp. The piece of salmon was double what you'd get in any other restaurant. It was my friend's but I got a taste and it was good! The meals come with pasta but my friend got spinach sautéed with garlic fir a small upcharge. The 25% that was not so good was chicken Marsala. Should be a nice brown glaze/sauce. This was yellow. I did taste it- it had a solid Marsala taste but no spicing that I could tell it was bland, and, it seemed as if it had a touch of cream or way too much flour for thickening. Never saw yellow Marsala sauce before. Don't want to again. This restaurant can be Inconsistent but in general the red sauce is good. And it was tonight. They have an early bird if you get there before 7 pm. Pasta dinners are $13. Chicken dinners are $14 and fish and seafood dinners are $15. With soup AND salad and tea or coffee AND spumoni.
