When I showed up to my appointment, Aiden told me that my booking was a mistake/that nobody was available to cut my hair. Please understand that I would have no problem with an honest mistake, and I would not be upset if this situation was handled with any sense of apology from the business for playing with my time. However, it was apparent to me based on Aiden's demeanor that it had not been a "mistake", because he was not even remotely apologetic, and he made absolutely zero effort to even ask if I wanted to reschedule/to retain me as a customer; he simply insinuated I had to leave. I believe Aiden refused to service me when he saw who I was (I have never interacted with him in real life, but we have seen each other on Grindr; I had no idea he worked here, and regardless it didn't matter to me, because I came to get my hair cut, not to interact with any human being in particular). Why is the receptionist choosing who is allowed to get their hair cut here based on their personal baggage? It's a shame I have to leave this one star review, because I was looking forward to discovering a new hair salon. For all I know, perhaps the actual hair stylists are great.

If I knew that, I wouldn't have gone. I was charged for a "full throttle" bundle at $30, which according to their website includes a shampoo, haircut, and style. I was only offered a haircut and when asked about the bundle the "stylist" said that's just a haircut. In addition to the price, stylist did not seem to understand anything I was telling him to do and left me floored that he even thought he was done on several occasions. Attempted to strike up a general conversation twice throughout the process, like most people do, and he was uninterested. Even a chain haircut place I regularly go (nationwide) offers to put product in to help a cut look better at every location, without even asking. I was not offered anything. Advice to help, update your website or take it down altogether. That is where people will be looking for info on the place. Stop lying to your customers about what each bundle includes if you won't provide it even after asking for it. And I'm not sure if it was just this "stylist" but teach them to be a little more customer service oriented.

Madlayn is amazing! She's the most welcoming person in the world - and cuts great hair too. I go and see her at least every couple of months for fun, conversation, cool music and a stylish cut - all for $10. Magic. The stylists that own and operate this place used to work at the Boric's in Urbana (next to the county market), and they are pretty good at what they do. I was surprised to see them in this place, since I knew they are both good at what they do. The difference, of course, is that here they don't have to pay the franchise fee, which could be as high as 60%! The result was that my stylist (Jenny, which I highly recommend her work) took her time and paid lots of attention to what she was doing to my hair, while I always felt rushed when going to Borics, super cuts, etc. with lots of machine cutting. They make a point to keep their prices the same as national chains, so an adult haircut is $13, which is very reasonable. They run coupons in local magazines and ads, and Jenny told me that they would even accept competitor coupons as long as it brings them business. One small point: It's better if you call and make an appointment. You can walk in of-course, but they give preference to people with appointments. I'll call in next time before I go there.

Guess this is why she needed her STOOL? She was new and didn't know what she was doing. She stated multiple times that something could not be done, which even I can do.... Examples: drying my hair without it frizzing? So I left with wet hair... did this so I wouldn't immediately see her mistakes?
