On a quiet side street in the old-side of Monterosso.

Tonight - for the first time ever - I had pizza that gave me goosebumps! This will be a short and simple review - and regardless of this establishments historical "3 star" rating, just understand that several of the reviews here are many years old. We ordered the #15 which came with mascarpone, mozzarella, and prosciutto with red sauce. The melted cheese on this pizza was hot, gooey, and extraordinarily creamy - we didn't chew it - it ran over our tongue and into our very happy tummies! It was incredible! ‍ Add a couple cold tap beers and it was superb!!

Can I give 10 stars? Melissa our waitress was the best, she was fast and recommended the Nutella Calzone dessert. That is the best dessert we have had in Italy!!! I highly recommend this place. It is so yummy

    Calzone. Yum.

We were searching for gluten free pizza as my father is sensitive to gluten. All the locals and hotel staff pointed to this place. It did not disappoint. It is cute and off the beaten path because many folks walk by the other parallel street and this is on a smaller alley like street. Great vibe. Had the calzone and was pretty good. My son preferred pizza in Rome over this place but he said it was just better in Rome overall with no hit to this place. Def check out if you are in search of a gluten free option.

We have been testing pizza in every Italian city we have visited, and this is by far the best! All of the ingredients are fresh and combine to make a remarkable pizza! The salad was excellent as well. I highly recommend this local and quaint restaurant!

Not horrible, but I could've skipped this place. Came in around 6:30pm, so it was empty (no surprise there, as Italians usually have later dinners). After a day of hiking, we put our water bottles on the table and were immediately told we couldn't have it on the table and that we had to order their water. So friendly to tourists huh? I don't get it, but I get it, so just come possibly expecting that. The prices were decent because the pizzas were huge! Would've I know, I would've just split one with my cousin. The pizza itself was ok, we definitely had better in Rome and Florence. Service was so-so. The English menu also called for .50 more for copay than on the Italian menu. Like really friendly to tourists right?

    Good affordable pizza.

Solid thin pizza...what we love in Italy. Friendly service and a nutella and marscapone cheese filled calzone that earned tbis place a 5. Save room or fo just for this delightful surprise.

I saw someone carrying one of these pizzas and it smelled so good that I had to stop in. I got a 4 cheese pizza and my husband got cheese and salami. Both were amazing. This is the best pizza in the world, I think. Don't miss it if you're in the Cinque Terre!

What do you do when it's rainy and cold outside? Well, first you drink grappa, and then you go eat pizza! The pizza is good here, nothing bad about it. The service is quick and the pizza was filling and yummy.

This place is more touristy than a lot of places in the Cinque Terre, but the gluten free pizza is legit.

As we walked by, we noticed some of their employees inside so we asked if we could make a reservation for dinner for 6pm or 6;30pm. They recommended 6pm and took my name. We arrived promptly at 6pm and were the 2nd table seated. I'm so glad we came early. Over the next few nights we noticed so many people waiting outside all night long. I will tell you that my branzino was amazing. Fresh and cooked perfectly. I really enjoyed my healthy meal and I don't mind deboning a whole fish myself. My daughter had the linguine with clams which was also very delicious. My son had the pesto lasagna which was so-so. We were expecting red sauce bolognese so it could just be that we just had different expectations. He also ordered the steak and enjoyed it. My husband had the fruitti de mare and thought it was just okay. Something to know is that because they are so busy with so many people waiting, they like you to order everything together. We noticed a server who got frustrated with another table who tried to order apps, and then tried to order the main meals after they finished them, then dessert. These employees are hustling and trying to turn tables, as you see the queue outside waiting. It's a tiny cozy restaurant with a lot of demand. I would recommend this place for certain dishes, especially the fresh fish.

Even if you don't see the sign, follow your nose. Inside the little place, there are only a handful of tables, so most people grab a slice and go. They do those classic Ligurian-style focacce: some round like pizzas (but no sauce) and some square or rectangular slabs. The difference is more than shape, focaccia isn't pizza. It uses dough with more leavening, so it stays thicker, softer, and airier than typical pizza crust, and it gets dimpled and drenched in olive oil before baking. Because of that, the focaccia from Il Frantoio feels pillowy inside but still crispy at the edges -- perfect base for whatever topping they throw on. Go for a classic plain‑olive-oil slice if you want something simple and salty. Or, if you're up for a punchier flavor, try their anchovy version: salty, briny, and made for a beach‑town afternoon. Honestly, it's the perfect snack to grab before hiking to Vernazza -- light, filling, and full of energy for the climb. Bottom line: Focacceria IlFrantoio isn't fancy. It's small, kind of hidden, and not Instagram-flashy. But if you want a genuinely good bite of Ligurian comfort food, warm focaccia, salty anchovies or olive-oil-rich crust, handheld and cheap, this spot hits exactly right.
