It was a splurge but I think we picked right. The pizza was really good. I had better pizza here than at some of the places I've eaten at in Italy. I ordered the Prosciutto e funghi (24 CHF). With the size of the pie, I can normally eat 2 slices but I ended up eating 4 of those bad boys. That also might have to do with the fact that prosciutto and mushrooms are two of my favorite pizza toppings in the world. My boyfriend had the gnocchi with tomatoes, arugula, mozzarella, shaved parmesan (31.80 CHF). Nothing to write home about and definitely not worth the price tag. He probably would have been better off getting a pizza too. Bottom line - if you're in a bind and you don't mind shelling out the bucks, eat the pizza at Molino's.

Being the nearest restaurant to the Freddie Mercury statue must help too, although it is a shame that on the other side is a macdonalds! While we expected to be skinned alive by prices, we didn't pay top franc. Having said that, it was expensive compared to home, but we cannot use English priced as a factor while in Suisse. The pizzas were authentic and thin based so we're light yet filling. Large portions meant we didn't have to venture into the dark depths of macdonalds to satisfy ourselves. We sat outside along the lake and watched the sunset over the lake. Very picturesque and was a great start to our tour!

I had the lemon ravioli, which was unique and delicious, but you better like lemon if you order it. I certainly do. Others had the beef, ravioli, the spaghetti Bolognese, and spaghetti with meatballs. All were incredibly delicious for dessert. We had the tiramisu and a chocolate molten cake that was out of this world. As others have said, the owner doesn't speak any English, but works very hard with you to get his points across. He is hilarious and jokes with everybody. Also recommend trying to make reservations. I filled out the Web form a few days before and never got a reply. When we walked in early for dinner at 6 PM, all the front tables had reservation labels, and the owner hesitated to take us, but we are so very very glad he did most highly highly recommend coming here if you are in Montreaux. We could not asked for a better meal or a better time.

The English speaking chef came to help us choose our menu. What a great surprise with his recommendations. The food is individual freshly prepared. Pasta is steaming hot and seafood salad is loaded with a variety of seafoods. The Italian ham, melon, avocado, grapes and mixed seasoning greens are so fresh and appetizing. My future trip to Montreux and neighboring cities will definitely promise a return to Al Cilento!!
