I'd never heard of this place before I went, it was chosen as the place for my friends' "Bachelorette party". I use the term loosely because it was really just a get together. Do not mistake me, this is NOT the kind of place you have a full blown bachelorette party, it's too classy. Like I said, the place is classy. You can still go there in your casuals but it is more intimate and just the menu makes you feel like you're eating somewhere fancier. That brings me to the menu. If hawaiian pizza is your idea of adventurous...do NOT eat here. These pizzas remind me more of something you might see in a cooking light magazine, I don't think any of them had tomato sauce on them or at least not on the ones we got. We all shared 3 pizzas so I don't remember which ones they were. They all have rather "exotic" ingredients if all you've ever eaten is Domino's and Little Caesars but they all blended perfectly together on all the pizzas we ate. The pizzas are also cooked in a wood oven heated to 712 degrees F. (That's where the name comes from) so you get a lovely, crisp crust with a perfect amount of smokey char on it. The waiter was well versed in the menu and was able to help us decide what to get. He explained a bit about the restaurant and recommended some pizzas to us. He was attentive and kept our glasses full. I don't think mine ever got past halfway empty. We split our check, which between 8 people is never easy, but the waiter performed admirably well at it. All in all it was good. I have heard several times that they use all local ingredients which is a definite plus in my eyes and I always award a star just for supporting a local economy. However, I'm just not adventurous enough for Pizzeria 712 and I prefer my Hawaiian Pizza. Its a fun place and I recommend it if you are looking for something different. I'm just so proud that this gem of a restaurant is in our little happy valley! Bar none, the best pizza I've ever had made in a wood-fired oven--thin, crispy, chewy. And let's talk about the different varietiesof pizzas! Corn and bacon with ricotta is my favorite during the summer/fall. this is gourmet pizza, not the kind of pizza you take your picky kids to eat. You won't find "american" pizza like pepperoni/mozzarella pizza here. Go to Brick Oven in provo for that,. First time visit last night after hearing nothing but the best about Pizzeria 712. The atmosphere: A Park-City type feel. Walks the line between casual and comfortable with cool tunes, and a classy, refined feel. Very nice. The tables are a bit small though. We couldn't fit our pizzas on the table. The service: Waitress was simple, nice, and attentive. The food came out fast...3 pizzas in ten minutes. The food: We ordered their fresh lime (mexican sprite with lime and mint), and some fentiman's gourmet soda, which were nice options. -Complimentary red pepper hummus and warm pita bread arrived. The bread was delicious and the hummus was decent. -We shared 3 pizzas: the tomato/fresh mozz/basil, the speck/garlic/mozz, and the homemade sausage/ fennel, caramelized onion. The tomato sauce is tangy and light. It isn't my favorite. I thought it was too tangy and overpowering. The pizza was cooked very well with charred and chewy crust. I am interested to try other pizzas and see if the sauce will fit better with other ingredients because it didn't leave me overly impressed like I was expecting. However, for dessert we ordered the apple crostata an it is no doubt THE BEST APPLE DESSERT I have ever had. The rosemary butterscotch sauce is sensational! The price: I felt good paying more for the fresh ingredients and the wood fire, brick oven. I felt that it is a dollar or two over-priced, but am happy to pay. 712 has gone downhill in a big way. The past 3 times I've been our pretentious hipster waiter has told us that we can't all order pizza, that some of us have to order appetizers for our meal instead. Uhhh what? We're not allowed to order pizza at a pizzeria? I don't like my waiter babysitting what I order. The service is ok, they usually struggle to refill drinks so you end up only getting 2 refills of soda your entire time. Moving on to the actual food, it's very bland. When 712 first opened they had all these unique pizzas with eggs on top and delicious spicy flavors. Now the entire menu of pizza tastes like soggy dough and unsalted tomato sauce. Honestly, Pizzeria 712 no longer brings anything unique to the table. It's difficult to explain how bland the food is. I'd go to Slab or Malawis or Midici's any day of the week over this. read more

Not your traditional greasy American pizza. Every one I've had was thin crust and used unique ingredients which on paper I wasn't sure would taste good (at least for my pallet) but with that first bite (think hallelujah chorus) my taste buds were soon dancing with delight. During the 8 months I lived in Orem, I'd swear there were no (very) good restaurants in the city until my husband and I discovered 712 on a Friday night this past winter. Their website advertises "seasonal ingredients from local family farms" and that comes through in the taste and creative combination of flavors in pizza and salads. This was an excellent meal the hummus was a deliciously light start to the dining experience. We had the meatball appetizer, three golfball sized meatballs in a light tomato based sauce. One of ours was served cold but the cast iron was warm and hot. The macaroni and cheese was flavorful and creamy, I enjoyed the blend of mushrooms and parma ham with just a hint of mustard powder. First of all, this place was very difficult to find. We wouldn't have found it, if it wasn't for an advertising sign a building away from the actual restaurant. The restaurant is located on the first floor of an apartment complex that was still under construction. I was lucky enough to find the place. When we finally found it, we ordered several pizzas. The hot pink, potato, and mushroom pizzas. They have house made ricotta which was amazing. The pizzas were a bit pricey, but was definitely delicious. The potato pizza has a great mexican flavor because of the chorizo. The mushroom pizza was my favorite because the ricotta and roasted mushrooms were terrific together. I will definitely come back when I'm in Orem. read more

This is one of the toughest reviews I've written on Yelp to date. This is a difficult restaurant to find if you are from out of town so keep your eyes peeled for the new condominium development that houses the restaurant in the retail spaces below. I enjoyed the pizza at this comfortable eatery. The crust was well-seasoned and the sauce was subtle. The ingredients are obviously fresh. The wine list is fun and unassuming with gems in the by-the-glass category. Where the restaurant fails diners would be in the service category. It took an inordinate amount of time to get my order taken and processed. My salad and the pizza entree were served almost at the same time. The salad was served with a delicious piece of unleavened bread and a hummus dipping mix. I would have loved to have enjoyed the salad and bread with a short break before pizza. My server never bothered to check back though I was sitting alone at the counter near the waiter station. I had to ask another staff member for a second glass of wine. There was little effort on her part to make sure my dinner was going well and I sort of felt abandoned most of the night. And, for the record, I am a very low maintenance diner. I just want accurate service. I will be back to try this establishment again. I think 3 stars is an appropriate assessment for Pizzeria 712 but the food itself should be more accurately described with 4 stars. read more

Living in the Bay Area, you are spoiled with great restaurants and good local eats that realize the importance of local farms and seasonal foods. I ate at Pizzeria 712 and instantly fell in love with the workers and the restaurant. What a nice ambiance to enter versus entering a California Pizza Kitchen chain. I would rather pay more money to eat local foods and enjoy a privately owned restaurant than visit a Chevy's, Chilli's, etc any day. We were seated at the bar and had a lively chat with the Chef and Sous Chef. We ordered short ribs and just the basic tomato, basil, mozzarella pizza and added caramelized onions. The short ribs sat on top of crisped polenta which was delicious. The pizza was fantastic, I love thin crust pizza and it was not overly crispy, but had a good overall flavor. The portions were perfect. They even make their own mozzarella! I highly recommend this restaurant to someone who appreciates good food that doesn't come from a chain restaurant. It's always better to be satisfied than stuffed. If you're looking for stuffed go to Cheesecake Factory. read more

Love this pizza. The crust is awesome and the sauce tastes extremely fresh. Try anything and it's good. A couple times they have burned the crust, but then made it right. He was knowledgeable about the menu items and offered some great suggestions. Food: Fantastic. They focus on local ingredients and you can taste the difference. We started with the hand pulled mozz w/ local tomatoes and it was simple, fresh, and delicious. For the pizza we had the sausage, onion, and fennel pie. The crust was cooked to perfection, thin, chewy, with some charred spots. The sauce was rich and flavorful and each topping added a unique dimension. Feel: You can tell when you walk in that 712 takes their food seriously. The pizza oven is the focal point of the restaurant, as if set on a stage. The tables surround the stage anticipating the show. The rest of the decor is cool and contributes to the feel of the place. The glass bottle at the table for drinking water is a nice touch. In the culinary wasteland that is Utah County, Pizzeria 712 is a welcome addition to the restaurant landscape and we are excited to go back soon. read more

Mmmm, pizza at it's best! Right when you walk in you can't miss the wood fired brick oven, which makes for a top-notch pizzeria. You won't find your every day pepperoni and cheese, but a unique blend of fresh toppings that make for delicious pizza. Handpulled mozzarella (sounds like something the pioneers went through), fennel, grana padano, fresh tomato sauce, I start to salivate just thinking about it. What We Got... They have a lunch and dinner menu which don't vary too much, but the menu is seasonal to insure for fresh quality ingredients (I love that). I met my grade school friend Sarah for lunch. First thing we were excited about was, instead of the usual breadsticks or loaf of bread, they brought out complimentary paprika hummus with soft bread to dip. We devoured the hummus and wanted to ask for a hummus refill, but felt too embarrassed. To start we got the la nay ferme greens, peach, potato, rockhill gruyere, almond, sherry vinaigrette ($10). Sounds fancy shmancy, with words I've never heard of before, but it was good! I recommend trying it. I never would have thought to put red potatoes in a salad, but they fit in just fine. As for the main dish, we got the creminelli sausage, caramelized onion, roasted fennel, tomato sauce, mozzarella pizza. ($14) The crust was one of my favorite parts. Not to flat, not to doughy, but just right! And the sauce still had a fresh tomato taste. Service... Our waitress was friendly and we even got the name of the lady who does her eyelashes, but she wasn't Lighting Macqueen. After we got our pizza it was like we didn't exist. My glass was craving water, and it seems like whenever you have a waiter that leaves your refills hanging, that your thirst meter automatically goes to empty. Does this happen to anyone else? Slow to pour and slow to charge. I had to go up at the end and give her our cards because she was taking forever. Overall... Despite the slow service, I give Pizzeria 712 a Green Light. WOW! My husband works nearby and wouldn't rest till I'd come here with him. After multiple pizza fails in UT, this was a surprisingly pleasant experience. We arrived at noon to an empty restaurant. Plenty of parking in front. We were promptly greeted and seated. The ambiance is industrial chic - well lit, minimalistic, clean lines. I dug it. Our table wobbled, which put me in fear for our water jug multiple times, but oh well! We started with the oil and vinegar. Now, if you don't order an appetizer, they still bring a plate of pita with a delicious roasted red pepper hummus. We added on to that and were glad we did. A VERY flavorful vinegar that got our tastebuds excited. I had a glass of the house cabernet - and that's exactly what it was. A bright, fruity red, strong enough to stand up to pizza, but not overly complex or pretentious. Drinkable on its own, but better with food. My husband ordered the speck pizza and I stole a bite - hearty red sauce complemented the meat and the crust remained thin while being sturdy enough to remain solid. WIN. I ordered the prosciutto pizza and loved it. The meat had been cut into small pieces so you weren't tearing through it (like so many prosciutto pizzas) and then buried under a layer of sharp white cheese (asiago, methinks). I wish I would have ordered a pizza because I sweat enough while I was there to work it off! It felt like 90 degrees in the restaurant, our entire party of 10 was close to having a heat stroke. I was told they keep the A/C off to save money until it's warmer. The menus served as great fans. I ordered an arugula salad, it was terrible and definitely not worth $7. The staff was super friendly, the restaurant was nice but the food lacked in my opinion. Again, should have ordered a pizza but they charge an extra $2 to make it gluten free. I understand everyone up charges for gluten-free but I shouldn't have to pay more for having an allergy. read more

One of the best places to eat in Utah County. Food is simple and elegant. Wait staff is professional and friendly. Place is clean, and attractive though small. Beautiful art on the walls. Incredible. This is one of the few places I miss since moving out of state. I love everything about it, the atmosphere, the food, the service, just amazing. I have not been disappointed even once. Pizzeria 712 boasts fresh, seasonal, local ingredients and they keep things simple, which is brilliant. I love it when a restaurant lets their high-quality ingredients work their magic, no need to over-think or complicate things. As their website sates: "When we start with the best ingredients available and show them the proper respect, the food just expresses itself." I couldn't agree more. If you want to treat yourself without going all the way to Salt Lake City, make a reservation at Pizzeria 712. I used to love having a place where I could go for a good glass of wine, some hummus and pita bread, a perfect pizza, and a decadent desert I don't know if they still have it but the Amano chocolate pudding is honestly the best desert I have had in my entire life. read more

Two things I love here: Pizza and Pannacota dessert. I love how the natural flavors come through with every bite. Tomatoes sauces are tangy and fresh, none of that sweet flavor from canned tomatoes. The quality of ingredients does make a difference in the outcome of the product.
