    Lasagna pizza

This was absolutely delicious pizza. Had the Bufala, hubby had the Lasagna and Margherita.m, and Grandma had the Caprese. Crust had wonderful flavor, sauce was excellent and you can taste that it was fresh. Service was pleasant and pretty quick. Definitely a place for people that have small or large parties. Highly recommend.

Saw the line Down the street and decided to give Trianon a try instead. We were not disappointed. Great pizza. Go here you won't regret it.

    Anchovy pizza...yum!

No wait, cold beer, & plenty of flavors to choose from. Short walk from train station. The portions are big so one pizza is enough for two people. We got so much we took it back to Rome with us and had it for dinner. Seating is upstairs and can be tight so avoid taking large parties.

I was really excited to try this and maybe my expectations were too high. The pizza looks very good but was bland. We both agreed we've had much better Neapolitan pizza in the states. Service not very friendly, but that's what we've unfortunately found is typical for everywhere we've been in Italy so far.

Grabbed pizza here for lunch while in Naples. I think this place is often overlooked because the famous pizza place is right across the street. The line there was too long, and we got in to Trianon right away. I'm so glad we did because the pizza was delicious! We ordered and shared the Margherita and the marinara. Both were delicious! Two pizzas was too much for the two of us, and we took half of one with us in a box. Definitely my favorite pizza in Italy!

Do not pass up Pizzeria Trianon! This place is literally across the street from a very popular (crowded with long lines) pizza restaurant with very limited indoor seating. They have a large selection of handmade pizzas at very reasonable prices, plenty of indoor seating, and very efficient service. This was our go-to pizza restaurant in Naples, despite several places closer to our hotel. There was no waiting for seating and the delicious pizzas arrived promptly. The crust was thin and crisp and covered with a sea of melted cheeses. We will definitely revisit when we return to Naples.

Pizzeria Trianon da Ciro is a historic Neapolitan pizzeria that opened in Naples, Italy in 1923. It was founded by husband and wife Ciro and Giorgina Leone. The couple named their pizzeria after a famous theater that's just a few doors down. Since the late 19th century, the Teatro Trianon has been a popular venue for the best artists of the Neapolitan and Italian theater scenes. Pizzeria Trianon opened during a period of time between the two World Wars when the economy was bad, unemployment was very high and people were starving. The Leones started making pies that people called "a ruotta di carretto" (Italian for "cartwheel") because of their huge size. These pies consisted of very thin, long-rising dough, about 35 cm wide, which could satisfy a person's appetite for a whole day. Actors who frequently performed at Teatro Trianon (such as Totò, Macario, and Nino Taranto) would frequently stop in at Pizzeria Trianon. Today the pizzeria is owned by the Leones granddaughters Donatella and Giorgina and their husbands. A second location opened in Salerno in 1991, and a third opened in Sorrento in 2017. My wife and I visited Pizzeria Trianon on our honeymoon in July 2018. We had just eaten some pies at the popular Antica Pizzeria da Michele. While that pizzeria is known for its long lines, Trianon is right across the street, they usually don't have long lines, and their pizza is comparable to da Michele. We decided to order a pie to-go and eat it back at our hotel. The interior of Trianon was really nice. The pizzeria has three levels and can accommodate up to 400 people. There was a lot of cool tile art on the walls depicting scenes of Naples. After looking over the menu, we decided to order a Margherita with fresh Buffalo Mozzarella. The heat of the wood-fired oven cooks the pies very quickly. The sauce was perfect, the crust had a nice chew to it, and the mozzarella was so creamy! Excellent pizza!

Menu with CHEAP prices, even for table service!

With the line of locals for Da Michele literally spilling out into the streets at 10:30 am, we decided to hit up what's known as the second best spot for authentic Naples pizza: Pizzeria Trianon. Since we arrived early we were quickly seated downstairs by the pizza oven. We must've hit it just right because the place had a huge line outside within 15 minutes! The menu is simple and basic: pizza! We each ordered our own pizza (as is the tradition and norm in Italy) and watched as they were tossed and cooked by hand right in front of us. We got the house wine which was a red made with grapes grown from the nearby Pompeii region (not great wine, but what a fun story). Hubby opted for a mushroom pizza (it was his favorite pizza he ate during our entire 3 weeks spent in Italy) and I got a pomodoro with tomatoes that were grown near Mt. Vesuvius. I wanted to go as local as possible and that menu item jumped out at me the second I sat down. My pizza was very good but far from the best I've ever eaten. I had no problem polishing off the whole thing of course, but I wish I had ordered a more classic pie like margherita. My pizza didn't have any red sauce which was disappointing. Live and learn. The crust was excellent, chewy and slightly undercooked (as it should be) with an appropriate smattering of blackened charred bits. Those little "burned" areas were the most delicious part of the pizza! What struck me most is that the prices are cheap, even for dining in! Big pizzas ranged in price from €4.50 up to €9.00 and made for a very inexpensive, high quality, and super filling meal. The hospitality was friendly (Italians are generally jovial and in our experience, they're particularly happy to have foreign tourists visiting Napoli) and the service casual and unhurried. While this may not be the very best or most famous pizzeria in town, it certainly belongs a spot near the top.

Restaurant is large with plenty of seating

Large seating area upstairs for this excellent pizzeria. Very fresh ingredients and most pizzas are versions of the Margherita, which was invented in Naples. Allegedly the second best pizza in town behind their neighbor, Di Michele. Problem with the other place is that they have a line out the door all day, and I'm not a very patient line stander. For me Trianon is the perfect #1 to me with its ample seating area and lack of crazy crowds. They even have lots of toilets and a hand washing area near the top of the stairs upstairs. We got a single pizza and shared it. A very reasonable thing to do as it's a decent sized pie. Of note, service here isn't great, so order everything in one go as your waiter may never return. Pay downstairs with the cashier near the door. Most ate their pizza with knife and fork.

Our pies... my wife can not have lactose so they built a no-cheese pizza with anchovies.!
    Henry M.

Incredible pizza and vary fair prices. Individual but large pies that most people somehow manage to finish. Family style tables upstairs are great because you enjoy authentic Napolitano cuisine surrounded by the company of local families. Not for tourists, prices are not cheap come-on gimmicks like offered across the street. We wondered why a long line of tourists were waiting across the street. Ten euro pies which include a beer. Here I paid 8.5€ for an amazing pie with gorgeous toppings. The servers were brusque with us but hugs and kisses for local families who must come once a week. I truly live this place but they lost s star for serving a miserable excuse for house red wine. I'm in the wine business as a grower and vintner -- this swill was horrid and was an insult to Italian wine makers. But we will be back!

No acknowledgement of any kind by the server, who was a lady walking around inside. She was the only server, but there are only 9 or so tables in the small space so she definitely saw us since she walked by to various tables. When a table left, the bus boy cleaned it and motioned us to sit. Once we were ready to order, we waited. ...and waited, and waited. So we raised our hand for a few minutes straight, while the lady continued to walk to other tables and ignore us for some reason. Then the table next to us got a new party. Finally, the bus boy saw our raised hand came over, and I asked him to call the lady over. He did, we saw. And then she proceeded to take the order of the table next to us, who sat down more than 10 minutes after we did. They even looked at us apologetically. Finally, after putting in that table's order, she came to us. So she clearly knew we were waiting. I don't understand why she was somehow prejudiced to ignore us, but I was about to just leave. And maybe I should have - the pizza honestly wasn't that great. My pizza had mushrooms were canned and flavorless, and chewy thick dough that I didn't end up finishing. We also had a variation of diavola that came with eggplant, and it was slightly better but still nowhere near as flavorful as other spots we tried in Naples. Don't bother coming here. There are so many other spots with better food and service.

The edges weren't crispy or very thick like I expected either. There's certain things I expect to see in Neapolitan pizza which I just wasn't getting from Pavia. I got pizza elsewhere in Naples the next day and noticed the crust was much different and had singed crust by the wood fired oven. Pavia is OK but I've honestly had similar pizza back in the states. It's a good option if you're nearby but you may find something better if you look a little further.

A long line on the side of the building was for ordering to go. And if you wanted to sit down you grabbed a ticket number. We got a number and waited. Our number was skipped, but we thought maybe they were calling small parties first, we were a group of 5. My husband went to show the man our number and he said, you need to wait and so we did. Another 10 or so groups were called and got a little impatient so my husband went again and tried to speak with the man. He sort of yelled at my husband that why didn't he come tell him sooner....which he had tried? Anyways. He did try to accommodate us quickly after that, but we did wait about 40mins total I would say. We sat down and a middle aged woman took our order but she was quite rude. The whole time she was staring down a table next to us, it seemed she was focused on if they were paying their bill to the counter instead of her. (We understood later why she was so worried about this). We got 3 pizzas and 4 small cokes for the table. Our pizza came basically uncooked. The pizza was raw and soaked and we couldn't even cut it. The only part that was sort of cooked was the crust. There was too much commotion in the store to even talk to anyone. So we ate the edges, drank our sodas and just wanted to leave. We looked around for a server but we didn't see anyone so, my husband got up to pay the man at the little desk at the front and we found out they charged us 1€ a person to sit down, so a 5€ total for us, which we understood as a service fee, that's fine makes sense since we used up some space. My father and I were last to leave the table and this original female server comes yelling at us that we didn't pay. So I show her the receipt, I tried to be understanding that maybe they have dealt with people skipping out? So I tried not to taking the shouting too much to heart. I don't know but I was calm and wanted her to feel comfortable that we had paid our bill. She nods that she sees it and then proceeded to keep her voice raised and tell us that this didn't include her tip which was mandatory. I don't know why I would tip you for crap service and uncooked food. My father wanted to leave without making a scene so he dug out 3€ from his pocket for her. But I regret not telling her to keep their voice down and that if a tip was required they should put it on the bill and walk out. 0/5 Service 1/5 Food

I haven't eaten tomatoes this good on a pizza before, they felt super authentic and local The crust wasn't as airy as another place I've been, but it was still quite soft and pleasurable to eat. The bottom of the crust, though, was unparalleled. It was so unbelievably soft, and didn't even feel like you were eating pizza. A lot of the pizza I've eaten in the past has included this hard bottom curst that's noticeable, but this bottom crust just floated through each bite like butter. Holding up a slice was so floppy The cheese was also fantastic - I do wish there was slightly more of it - but it was still amazingly good I tried a bit of a vegan pizza that someone at my table ordered - and my god that was astoundingly good - even better than the margherita I had. If I was here again I would definitely order the pizza that had white sauce rather than tomato sauce - because even though the tomatoes were really good, I think I just prefer the alfredo-style sauce on pizza.

Multiplie locations exist, six in Naples, three on the same street! At first I wondered if it was a "Ray's Pizza" situation* though turns out they are all legitimately related, arising from the success of the pizzeria opened in by Gino Sorbillo. Aside from Naples they have locations in several other Italian cities (Rome, Milan, Bergamo, Turin, Bologna, Padua, and Genoa), even a location on Tokyo. This specific location where the pin is dropped on the Yelp map is for Gino e Tito Sorbillo, eponymously named for the now famous pizza chef and his brother, and the nicer sit-down version of the restaurant.** This is the original shop where it all began, and the business' historical headquarters. Outside, you'll see a couple paper cutouts of the chef, with a chef's coat and a smile. The unwavering popularity of their pizza is undeniable--one look at the crowds outside this storefront and it's immediately apparent. Be prepared as the wait is not for the faint-hearted or the extremely hungry. Luckily I had a snack before arriving (see separate review for Sfogliatelle Mary). 9:05pm: I arrived to a semi-circular crowd centered around the doorway of Gino e Tito Sorbillo. Headed up the hostess stand and she said 20-25 minutes so I figured why not. 9:30pm: the crowd around the door seems to have increased, at least stayed the same, a handful of parties were called up. I realize now that the hostess gives everyone the same estimate. Watching many parties that were there when I arrived--they are still waiting too. 9:50pm: I'm considering leaving at this point since there's significant second-hand smoke from multiple people smoking outside, though the crowd of people in front of the restaurant is going strong. 10:00pm: I go up to the stand and ask how much longer the wait will be, she says "oh you're a single diner right? I forgot, let me check." 10:05pm: she calls my name and ushers me inside. I'm seated at bar table seating at a window which works for me. Staff is quick to pass a menu, and take an order. 10:20pm the wait for the pizza after ordering was faster than expected. It only took about 7-8 minutes. Getting to the pizza--if you look up the definition of a Neapolitan style pizza, this is it! Served straight outta the oven as an entire pie, extremely thin, saucy in the middle, floppy base though evenly leopard-spotted on the bottom and the crust, pillowy and airy crust with a slightly crisp exterior. The tomato sauce was very fresh, and I loved the varying texture of the dough, great baked/slightly charred flavor. I got the Antonio which included regionally sourced cherry tomatoes, olives, capers, anchovies, basil. While I love both ingredients, the fish and capers together unfortunately were way too salty, I had to pick off some of these. Also I have to say as the pizza cooled, the room temp saucy dough wasn't quite as appealing as when it was hot. lol so if you consume it quickly it'll be fine! The serving size was also very generous, see pic with my hand next to the pie, I couldn't finish it in the end! Staff was quite friendly overall and I appreciated that they didn't pack the house or rush diners inside even with so many people waiting. That being said it was still pretty busy so you'll have to flag them down. After the meal, bring your bill up to the register to pay. *if you're familiar with NYC you'll know there are about 20 different Ray's Pizzas all claiming to be the original, which one is real? no one knows... **The other two locations on the same street are more casual, one is a takeout spot probably to handle the overflow from the main restaurant.
