When I tell you that I ate an entire pizza - by myself - after snapping "I'm not even hungry!" to…read moremy husband before walking into this restaurant, I hope you understand how impressive the food here is. This was our first restaurant meal after landing in Verona and, as it turned out, the only restaurant we visited that wasn't recommended by our awesome food tour guide Francesca. The restaurant was busy when we walked in late on a Thursday night. I had thought we were going to place an order to take back to our hotel - because, in addition to "not being hungry", I also had no desire to be in a public setting (jet lag is real, y'all.) But my husband asked for a table for two and next thing I knew we were seated next to the counter that showed off the kitchen. I thought we were ordering one pizza to share (remember, not hungry) so I about fell out of my chair when my husband said, "I'm going to get the Salciccia e Parmigiano, what are you going to have?" After a deep breath in through my nose, out through my nose, I decided the Margherita sounded light enough to not wreck my already taxed body. Then of course he mentioned wine. But of course why not red wine after 10 pm on a Thursday following a long travel day to another city, right? Two glasses of house red, coming right up! I'm being a brat, but the pizzas were very tasty. The red wine was decent - I wasn't expecting - and we did not get - anything fantastic, but it was superbly drinkable and rounded out our meal. Because we were in Verona, we did as the Veronese did and ate our pizzas with fork and knife. The dough was fresh and chewy, the toppings bright and balanced. I had told my husband to be prepared to help me finish the pizza, and then promptly demolished the serving. Well, almost the entire serving; he did end up eating one slice of mine on top of his own. His pizza, if you're wondering, was topped with sausage and tomatoes, and loaded up on cheese, which, really, is all he's looking for in a pizza. He said he liked mine, but as it was a vegetarian selection, it wasn't something he'd normally order for himself. Fair enough. We still talk about the pizza to this day, mostly because he's still in shock that I (practically) crushed mine after protesting a meal at all. I did find that I like pizza from Verona a whole lot more than pizza from the U.S.

The pizza was delicious and very well priced. Heck, better than a dominoes deal in the states and MUCH better tasting. Nice, friendly service. A great introduction to Italy.

The one I ate at did not have seating outdoors. They seem to have slightly different menu. The one I went to was more specifically pastas or pizzas. The other had more seafood options (I think). The one I dined at had a vertical pizzeria sign. It was the best pizza I have EVER eaten. No lie. It was so good we ate here for dinner and returned the next day for lunch. Even more funny was that my husband and I noticed a young couple that sat near us that night. The next day, they returned for lunch as well! The PIZZA: the crust was the best crust ever and was different from the rest we have had in Italy. It was the same for the long pizzas we ordered. We did not order circular pizzas. Most places in Italy were really thin crusts that were crispy with dark spots from the hot oven and slightly soft interior. Here, the crust is thin but not as thin as most places. And it was not as crunchy but crisp and thick enough to hold up to the cheese and toppings on the pizza. I am in love with their crust..the flavor is indescribable. Must be the olive oil they use? I normally won't eat all my crust on pizza and I managed it enjoy every bit of Bella Napoli's crust. The sauce is also light on all pizzas I've ordered. -chose bianca(?) pizza that was my favorite: pancetta with basil and white sauce. Barely taste white sauce..it is light. The cheese is more obvious than the sauce and is stringy. The pancetta is heaven. I was initially sad to see it wasn't crispy on the pizza, but the flavor was marvelous. Not gamey at all. And best of all, didn't taste fattening. They know what they're doing. This pizza changed me. -other pizzas ordered were: -mixed meat..decent. I don't even remember the meats on it. Possibly pepperoni and sausage? solid..but not memorable. -arugula, truffle oil, parmesan cheese, cured pork meat- solid but good for certain taste. Arugula is peppery, truffle oil is accustomed taste and delish to me, and parm cheese was layered somewhat heavily. Overall quality ingredients. A woman from Air BnB recommended this place for us saying her family only eats pizza from here. And that they use quality ingredients at a reasonable price. I totally agree. The best pizza. EVER.
