I travel 45 minutes to see him, because he specializes in wholistic dental care. He filled two of my cavities using a special lazer in a very short time with no need for a local anesthetic. My partner has dental trauma from here. They did a great job at the front of the experience, and we thought they would be great. But in the actual work, it was very upsetting. I came in to pick up my partner after a procedure and she was shaking, with blood still on her face, looking like a train hit her. And they were trying to sell her more products at the counter, ignoring that she was obviously distressed. They sold us a lot of very expensive supplements and treatments with very little instruction on how to use them. And when we investigated how to, we found that some of them were not right for her medical situation. I haven't posted a review for a while because I don't like to send negative ones. But we've recently had some of the same procedures done at other clinics and they were much more thorough and much less distressing. Also less expensive. In the end I don't feel like this is a reputable place to go. read more

I'm a long time patient of Dr PJN. I think he really cares how you are and wants to do the best possible for you. He went to extra schooling to learn details about dentistry that goes above and beyond typical dentists. Your options are very open and he can offer advice and choices. He uses Ozone and knows how to properly remove mercury fillings to minimize exposure. He recommends" "better" tooth care products than found on the typical over the counter items most people use. He is very good at being prompt. It's very rare I have to wait 10 minutes to be in the chair. read more

Legendary fraud. I so deeply wanted to trust this space & unfortunately, the only thing I would do differently is skip paying $725 for an exam, CT scan & $20k+ for a "healing plan". The meridian test was the only thing of value & we can do this by going to an acupuncturist. The x-rays were not usable, completely blurry + unusable anywhere else. The Ct scan = unable to be transferred & needed to be tossed. The "plan" here is valid for 90 days, also absurd. After a 2+ hour exam & then, to be talked through an over the top expensive elaborate plan by the staff, was deeply overwhelming & unnecessary. Clients; Please save the money & go to Farmington dental in Beaverton off Allen Blvd. At least at that office Dr. Lee is exceptional at dental care + offers 25% OFF out of pocket. read more

This review is about my experience with the new patient phone call I had today. I've recently become interested in holistic dentistry and have been searching for a dentist to care for our family's dental needs. After seeing the positive reviews on Google and Yelp (unfortunately, I overlooked the negative ones) and exploring PJN Dental's polished website, I was initially convinced they were the right choice. However, after speaking with the receptionist just a few minutes ago, I was shocked to learn that they require a two-hour appointment for new patients, charge $725 per person out-of-pocket, and demand a $300 appointment deposit. They also mentioned that they could attempt to bill insurance for subsequent appointments, but there's no guarantee of coverage. This definitely raised some red flags for me! read more

I was a patient here for several years (7?) and felt good enough about what they had to offer at the time that I sent some of my friends and family here as well. I chose specifically to go here and to pay out of pocket hoping to get better care than what OHP offers. Out of the blue, with no discussion, I was sent a dismissal email firing me as a patient. I responded to the email to get clarity on why they were firing me, and was not responded back to. This left me in a difficult place as I had some pressing dental needs at that time that I have been unable to address as I haven't yet found a new dentist that works for me. In addition, when I called to get my ozone tray from them, which I paid $1,000 for, they told me they did not have it and that it was meant to be "disposable" and said "maybe the item is in the attic somewhere." I would not have paid that much money for a disposable item. When I purchased it I was told I could use it forever. The $1000 came with the device and a few treatments, of which I wasn't able to do. So they blatantly took that $1000. When I spoke to the front desk staff to try to get some answers, she told me that she had "gone through my file" and could see that there had been a "difficult relationship for a long time." This was news to me, as far as I knew I had established a good relationship with the doctor and other staff. I felt concerned and offended that there were some form of non medically necessary gossip written about me in my chart notes. This feels unprofessional and possibly violates HIPPA Compliance, and definitely violated my sense of safety of doctor patient confidentiality. I do have chemical sensitivities and this was always discussed openly, but I wasn't aware I was being judged for this disability and any requests and needs I had around this. I can only assume, since I wasn't told, that this has something to do with it. Hence, if you have a disability or any different needs, I cannot recommend this as a safe place. In addition, the last filings he did for me 2 years ago failed, and I will need to get them redone. I feel disappointed and shocked that a clinic and doctor that I had trusted for a long time and established a relationship with treated me so callously in the end. I feel concerned and embarrassed that I ever sent friends and family here and I can only hope they are treated better. So, unfortunately and with a heavy heart, I am not in a place to recommend them anymore. read more

PJN Dental has extremely expensive first person scans. Insurance does not cover it. They make you sign a form and take a non-refundable deposit. You can't cancel even within the first 24 hours. I gave one star for the kind staff. This was a $625.00 waste of half my day and a major headache for 2 days after. Perhaps from all the imaging. Not having them do any of the horrendously expensive work they recommend as I don't trust this dentist. All I wanted was a check up & cleaning & to discuss having mercury fillings replaced. There was no cleaning little info on taking care of metals in my mouth. I was however overwhelmed by being informed how badly my mouth, jaw, bite airway all were. They took imaging of my airway & blood test also, I had no clue they were going to do this & wouldn't have approved as it could have been done by my ENT & charged to insurance. After over three hours of waiting scans & trying to communicate wishes & more waiting for the first 5 procedures to be estimated, never mind no cleaning or hygiene. That's separate. I left looking at more than, tens of thousands of dollars worth of endless procedures which I am truly dubious about. Know before you go exactly what you are walking into. Felt like it was just a big push at making money at my expense. read more

I really like these guys, they do great holistic dentistry. And yes it does cost a bit more because their costs are somewhat higher. However, I feel some of their policies are overreaching into my pocketbook. For example, if you need to cancel an appointment, don't get caught paying $150 for it because you weren't aware that they don't work on Friday!! When, on a Thursday, my husband had a work meeting arise, he immediately cancelled his Tuesday appt which seems like plenty of time to meet the 48-hour request, but since Monday was a holiday, he got gouged $150.00 for the cancellation. Ouch. Businesses have a responsibility to be fair in applying their policies. Was that fair? read more

I was interested in this dentist because he was listed as a holistic dentist. But I was not able to ever see him because he only serves OHP patients for like 1 week per month. That's very difficult to arrange an appointment. Plus they aren't open late or on Saturdays. My husband has a more flexible work schedule and was able to get an appointment. He said that the dentist seemed more interested in giving a female patient a tour of the facility than helping him while he was waiting to be worked on in the patient chair. The receptionist is not friendly. It seems like she doesn't care about whether their business keeps or loses a patient. Sometimes they don't pick up their phones. When you leave a message, sometimes they don't return your call. When you do finally talk to them to cancel an appointment, she doesn't even ask if you'd like to reschedule. read more

I normally never write reviews but this time I had to. I have been so impressed and grateful with PJN dental that I had to share my experience. I have been researching a lot in trying to find a holistic dentist who knows how to safely remove amalgam (mercury) from my teeth. After I read all the amazing and positive reviews on Dr. Pascal Nguyen I had to go in. The fact that he's also certified in SMART (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique) was an extra bonus. He used special equipments to safely remove the mercury fillings. And they also have a plan in what supplements you should take 7 days prior to mercury removal and 10 days after to help your immune system and your body. Dr. Nguyen was very attentive, kind and caring and always made sure that I was comfortable during the entire procedure which took many hours to complete since I had 5 mercury fillings to remove and he replaced them with zirconia that I really wanted. The whole team at PJN dental from dental assistant to the front desk girls were amazing. I was so stressed that day because I thought I had to cancel my appointment due to having to go sign papers last minute for closing on the house me and my fiancé were buying. However Dr. Nguyen allowed me to leave my appointment after couple hours to go sign my closing papers and then come back and continue with the procedure. I was amazed in how understanding the whole team was and them acknowledging how important it was for me to go do that. I am beyond grateful that I found PJN dental. I sought help at PJN after having two crowns fail on the same tooth in 18 months. After paying out of pocket for expensive testing, Dr pascal determined I required a crown made from a specific material and I was allergic to the usual porcelain. I had them put this third crown in in November 2022. I ended up paying for that out of pocket as well because their insurance quote was completely incorrect. I didn't find that out until the work was done so my only choice is to pay. At this point I'm out well over a thousand dollars but thinking that if this is the end of my problems it's worth it. Well, 4 months later my fancy new crown came out. While eating a grilled cheese. These things are supposed to last YEARS. I am again left with a painful, exposed nub. I called first thing Monday to report this, and was told I would have to pay $150 just to talk to someone on the phone. About the treatment I already paid for, that failed. That didn't sit right with me and I told them. They agreed to waive the fee. But it's more been nearly 3 full business days, and they still can't make time to speak with me. I feel ghosted by this practice. And it's very disappointing, because I turned to them for help when I was in a vulnerable place. I have had multiple dentists tell me they can't help me (some after putting me thru exam packages and billing my insurance). I'm having panic attacks over losing my teeth and having no options because my mouth is rejecting the materials we are putting in. I'm in so much pain I can barely drink the water to take my medications. I tried to explain this to PJN. Still, crickets. read more

The environment in this office is welcoming. Dr. Nguyen is definitely knowledgeable and I learned a lot from him during my visit. He presented me with the best options with alternatives and informed me of the pros and cons of each option. I did not feel forced for treatment but was educated on the importance of treatment. I had been seeing the former dentist in this suite for about 9 years before Dr. Nguyen took over the practice. At first, I was hesitant, as I have never been a big fan of going to the dentist, but after my first visit, all of my nervousness about the change was alleviated. Dr. Nguyen (and his staff) are absolutely amazing. He takes special care knowing I'm a nervous-nelly about dental work, and has a very gentle touch. He is a great eye for detail and made sure everything was just perfect for me (I am particular about how the tooth feels in my bite after it has been repaired). My hubby also sees Dr. Nguyen now and also thinks he is a great dentist. He just had a lot of dental work done to "catch up" (tisk tisk on my hubby) and said it couldn't have gone smoother. Recently, our son had his very first real dental work done (he is 5 and had a small cavity). I was worried that our son would end up a nervous-nelly like his mama, but Dr. Nguyen and his staff made him so comfortable, that his nervousness wore off very quickly. Dr. Nguyen made the entire experience fun and comfortable for our little bug. The bad news? He loved it SO much that I now have to deal with dirty little 5 year old hands in my mouth because he wants to play dentist all the time lol Long story short, Dr, Nguyen is fantastic! I drive 3 hours round trip to see Dr. Nguyen. There are many other dentists much closer to home, but none even come close to the quality and integrity of Dr. Nguyen. He and his staff are the most kind, caring, respectful, and knowledgeable people I've ever met in their professions.
