Update, took my Jeep in for A/C leak, they found dye all over cap, found the low pressure side of the service port Schrader valve leaking. Replaced part for under $500.00. Very disappointed in PJ's new owner, trying to give the NEW owner of PJs the benefit of the doubt and think he was way over his head in diagnosing my Jeep. I would rather think he was incompetent than think he was a thief! I was told it was the later of the 2. :( read more

This auto shop is incompetent. I called them the day before and explained what I needed for my truck. 2 new key fobs and new cylinder ignition lock and ignition switch. I dropped the truck off the following day at 7am just as I was instructed. They said it would take 2HRS to do the job. At the end of the day, the truck was not done. They said the part was coming from Sacramento and it was delayed. I told them they should have left me a voicemail or text to let me know that the truck was not done. Nothing...not a courtesy call. The following day, I picked up the truck around 1pm. They gave me one new key fob instead of two. they said they were trying to call me to confirm if I needed two key fob. Which was a lie. I already told them I needed two. I took the truck home. My wife found my old key fob. To my surprise the old key fob opens the truck. Why would I get a new key fob if the old one can open the truck. They didn't delete the program for the old key fob. The whole point of getting a new key fob was that in case someone found my old one it will not work to open my truck. They said they're going to refund me $150 but I paid $652. I'm still waiting for the refund. The lesson- write down what you need done for your car and give it to them, make sure you get an invoice for your record and double check that what you wrote is on the invoice. Also document when the car is going to be done as promised. If not - you should get compensated for taking time off from work and the expense for gas not to mention the stress they put you through. They just lost a customer. I hope this does not happen to you. read more

PRICE GOUGING Went in after DMV visit for car registration. Car required a Break & Lamp inspection. Being the only place on google for this state certified required inspection in Yuba City I went. Friendly gal signed me up with an appointment easy enough and went through the trouble of explaining what the inspection included just in case I wanted to take a look at things myself for more potential of passing. That's was nice of here so at this point I was feeling fairly good about the integrity of PJ's. So long story short the 2016 car didn't pass, and for good reason. One of my headlights was letting in moisture so needed to be sealed and a tail light needed a bulb. $158 to change a tail light bulb $470 to silacone the headlight. $900 for a new (1) headlight assembly if I wanted a new one. The tail light cost me $1.18 to replace myself. $350 for a new (1) headlight assembly on Amazon. All I can say is good for them if they are gouging customers successfully. One heck of a neich being across from the DMV. I feel real bad for the people who may feel they have to pay as a rresult of it. I hope some people know they can go to Sacramento with many places and more competition for you as a customer. read more

My car didn't want to start a couple days ago so I took it to Pj's. Turned out I needed a new battery! The owner was very quick on fixing it and even told me what else was wrong with my car and how severe/urgent each problem was. My car is pretty old and if it's not one thing, it's the other so I'm very glad Pj's is around to help! If you can, utilize their free brake inspection!! This place is a scam and rip off people just because they are across the street from the DMV. Tammy the receptionist told me because I own 1995 jeep that California was trying to take older cars off the street and that she had to spend $20,000 to buy the new smog equipment. So my smog is now $85!!! So Tammy is ripping people off because they have an older car. I don't care how much your equipment is, you own a business and should have thought of that there will be expenses. So you single out people with older cars?!? Have you ever thought poor people can't afford a new car? And have to feed their children?? So you want me to give you my money? And be rude to me? Not every automotive repair visit is perfect & this isn't a "fufu"/pretty shop, but my experience with PJ's has been good! Had SMOG checks done throughout the years, and most recently they helped to troubleshoot a SES light problem. Truck failed the first test (but that wasn't their fault), and the only reason the rates have gone up is the fees and cost of everything else is going up! Highly recommend. read more

Made an appointment to have my SMOG done , they were ready for me and got me in right away I even waited for my car. The waiting room is dirty but it was worth my time . SMOG is automatically loaded onto DMV but takes a couple hours to process. I was able to go to breakfast and register my car with their new kiosk in less than 15 minutes. read more

PJ's investigated an issue with my engine. Discovered a bad motor mount and suspected that it could have caused a problem with the lower motor mount. I approved the repair of the motor mount as well as a couple of other minor repairs. I, having limited autocare knowledge approved a repair and expected a call that would double the total cost. They could have easily made that call and I would have approved it. They called early, said the lower mount was sound and ended up charging me about $100 less than they originally quoted. I took my car over there and was called later in the day with an estimate of the repair costs. I thought that the price was reasonable and authorized the repair work. Great place! My air conditioning in my car went out and it was 107 degrees! I was desperate for it to be fixed- I called PJs and was able to get an appointment for 2 hours later. They quoted me one price to recharge the A/C but actually completely looked over the air conditioning system and found a faulty relay that was also causing a problem. They were extremely thorough and I ended up paying only the original quote and my car was waiting for me in less than an hour. read more

I took my car to be smogged at PJ's Auto after the place had been recommended to me. The work was done quickly which was nice and the receptionist was very polite. However, the day after our vehicle was smogged our fuel gauges (both analog and digital) were not working. Our check engine light also came on. I took it to the NIssan dealership in Roseville and they said that our fuel sensors had quit working. The cost to fix them is $700. The smog technicians did their work incorrectly and broke the sensors. read more
