We stopped off in LaPlace and decided to visit PJ's Coffee, and I'm so glad we did. This location has been recently renovated and looks fantastic. It was extremely clean and well-maintained, creating a welcoming atmosphere. The service was excellent and very personable. We even had a great conversation with Wayne (I believe that was his name) when he stopped by our table to make sure we were enjoying our drinks. That kind of attention to customer experience really stood out. The cold brew was exceptional! It was smooth, bold, and refreshing. I'll definitely be making it a point to stop here whenever I'm in the LaPlace area! read more

This PJ's has one of the BEST food and drink selections in comparison to others I have gone to (Ruston and New Orleans). I am not a fan of their brewed coffee. At all locations it is rather weak if you like strong coffee; however the lattes are yummy. The beignets are a MUST to try. They were made upon request. It took about three minutes (see photo). The ambiance at all locations I have visited was nice for a causal meeting with an acquaintance, friend, or client, or just for a spot to study/work with an unlimited supply of caffeine (sorry Red Bull and Monster...lol). My daughter and I went for breakfast today. I had a ice coffee and she had a frozen hot chocolate. My coffee was delicious. We ordered 2 orders of beignets. The beignets were very good! PJs is better than Starbucks. Pjs is better than Starbucks. Pjs is better than Starbucks. Which is a good thing because there isn't a Starbucks in LaPace. I am a frequent consumer of coffee. I like to have it first thing in the morning and often in the afternoon. Waking up around 3 am tends to suck. Coffee makes it suck less. Pjs in Laplace makes that afternoon coffee just the way I like it. Cold, caffeinated, and not bitter at all. There is no drive thru here so park and walk in. In the afternoon there is usually only one barista working, but very little wait. Sometimes you'll get stuck behind someone with a complicated order, but most of the time you won't. The iced coffee is very good, but order it with light ice. Their large is more like a medium at other places so the ice reduces the caffeine to unacceptable levels. If you need to do work and need a remote location, there are plenty of tables and booths here to work. read more

I hate going to this PJ's they open late on the weekends, and the workers carry on personal conversations in front of customers, and shuffle around grumbling and complaining. Last time I was in there, they opened 3 minutes late on a Saturday morning. I ordered a large coffee, was given a medium and when I mentioned it, the lady working sighs and huffs and says "Well, if you finish that, I will add more to it!" then she tosses around the her huge scarf she is wearing and stares at me. I remind her that I ordered a breakfast sandwich as well. She huffs again. Now, when I order this item at any other PJ's it is given to me warm. Not here. She reached in the case, and plopped a cold saran wrapped sandwich in my hand. No plate, no nothing. Now to be fair, there is a microwave in the lobby conveniently located RIGHT NEAR the restrooms, but I had no plate on which to place it. I asked for a plate, and she directed me to the napkins, then went right back to her conversation with the other woman working there as they discuss hair bows and diet plans in a volume that exceeds the collective volume of all patrons. The most awful thing was when an elderly man came in. As he waited in line, he was speaking in a normal tone to other patrons, he did not appear to be deaf or mentally incapacitated. When he reached the counter, she began to speak to him very loudly, and slowly calling him sweetie and babe. "DO YOU WANT ME TO LEAVE ROOM FOR CREAM BABE?" It was demeaning. After that debacle, Bonus! I went over to the piano also conveniently located near the restroom, and began to bang out my version of "Gonna Make you Sweat" nobody danced, but I did garner three huffs and a disapproving look from the hair bow and diet plan ladies, as well as a couple of grins from some customers. Then I played "When the Saints go Marching In" with the pedals, really loud, and I got some applause. Sadly, the next time I went in, the piano had been removed. boooo however the cracked booth cushions are still there for your visual enjoyment. This place is an adorable local coffee shop with oodles and oodles of locations! Whether you're in the Frwnxh Quarter or Metarie... Even La Place which is 45 minutes away from downtown New Orleans... Thee is a PJS Coffee around the corner. They brew the freshest coffee that hasn't from first sip. Honestly, it's extremely better than Starbucks and a local coffee shop that has grown in my city, Louisville. The jingle bell blend had me years ago and we purchase around ten bags to get us through the next Christmas when we visit family! Yes, it's THAT good! The ambiance and relaxed atmosphere will keep ya happy as well. And the staff always seems to have smiling faces!!! read more

This location has its perks. The coffee is, as always, amazing. I ordered a Salted Carmel cold brew, and a Salted Carmel cookie. The staff was friendly, and I made sure to get a copy of my receipt because that's where you'll find the WiFi password. The ambience of this place is chill and quiet. This location has its fault, though. When I went to have a seat at one of the booths, there were crumbs on the table. I wouldn't have mentioned this if the store was busy, but it was dead with only six customers in the building, this would've been the perfect time to spot clean. After brushing the crumbs away, I was ready to settle down and get to work on my coursework. I had the books out, and the laptop opened. I noticed my laptop had died, so I went to plug the charger it into the wall. It falls out. I switched tables, thinking it's just one loose socket. No. All of the sockets are extremely loose. This was a major deal breaker for me since I was planning to make PJ's my study space this semester. After spending around ten minutes, staring blankly at a dead computer screen and sipping on my iced coffee, I decided it was time to leave. TL;DR: If you need a space to come and socialize with a friend or finish a good novel, this is the place. However, if you're a college student I wouldn't recommend you come here to do anything that requires a computer; better for completing reading assignments. read more

This PJ's is my go-to when commuting to Baton Rouge. The only draw back is that it is in a strip mall and you need to park and get out...which may be another reminder that I am ultra lazy. The staff is friendly and quickly takes care of your order. They greet you upon entering the shop and the atmosphere is casual and kind of quiet. Lots of regulars. Standard neighborhood coffee shop. The iced mocha rocks and I highly recommend it. If you need java in LaPlace, stop in; it's conveniently located off Airline near Belle Terre. read more

Love this place. One of our last stops while in NOLA. At the time I had asked the cashier if she thought TSA would confiscate a king cake. She said yes, but FYI you can carry it on the plane, it just has to be x-rayed and checked by a TSA person before you board. I was sad to realize this when I got home because the king cakes there were huge. Anyway, husband and I both got biscuits that were stuffed with sausage and cheese. He also got a coffee. The biscuits were very tasty and he said he liked the coffee. There's a small gift store on the side. Service was friendly and fast. There are lots of places to sit and hang out or get work done. I've been coming occasionally for the past five years. The location is great - very central location. Coffee is usually decent, nothing special (but that's just typical of PJ's in my opinion). In the past interior was not well kept, but it seems that there has been a serious effort on the part of the owners to fix some things up; I remember the carpet was changed out not too long ago, broken window changed, and the booth-seats were reupholstered fairly recently. However, the back-rests of the booths are wobbly and often you will find yourself trying not to accidentally nudge the person sitting on the other side. Sadly, this place has a lot of potential, but its not taken advantage of. Service is usually not so great, even though the employees are nice, you may find them not very helpful. For example, today I got an iced coffee, which I ordered "black" (for those lacking the coffee vocabulary, this is simply a coffee that has been brewed cold and ordering it "black" means withholding the milk, which is normally put in ice coffee). Upon receiving my coffee I noticed that the coffee stopped short of the top the cup, by about 3/4 of an inch. Now, we're not talking about a big cup here - the PJ's "large" is about the size of a Starbucks' "venti" size. When I asked the server if she could "top it off", she stated that, "normally the milk would fill that gap." I asked, "since I didn't get milk in it, can't I just get coffee in it's place?" She began to explain its store policy, upon which I asked, "isn't milk more expensive than coffee?" This was pretty strange to me, since the coffee is already brewed and just sits in a bucket ready to pour... I hope this place will one day take advantage of the level of opportunity that the community is offering it. Remember PJ's, just because other Laplace businesses don't strive for excellence doesn't mean you shouldn't. read more

I like this place. The location is great surrounded by lots of shops and other eateries. When the library closes early on Sundays this is my favorite place to study and people watch. P J's is spacious and there is outside seating for those azure skies days. However, I am not a fan of coffee or the coffee delicacies they serve up but I am sure if you are a coffee lover you will love this place. Since, the nearest coffee paradise is about twenty miles away going east or west PJ's is your best option, and the employees are amiable which is always a plus. All in all location and convenience are the reasons I visit P J's and I almost forgot to write P J's is New Orleans owned. Gotta love that. read more

When he brought it back to PJ's, they refused to provide him with a cream cheese king cake he had paid for. Every time I go in into the store I go in every day. I spend over $280-$300 a month on Pjs Coffee in Laplace and the managers do not care about any complaints you make to them about their customers their customers are rude they are extremely disrespectful also everything in the store is extremely overpriced $20 for a tiny candle I would not recommend anybody to go to this pjs they need better customer service and apparently the manager at this PJs knows nothing about customer service maybe she should have went to college read more

I love PJ's! The coffee is amazing. I really do miss it when I'm away from the New Orleans area. My favorite is the french vanilla latte, which is not available at many coffee shops other than this. Many nice things to say about the PJ's in Laplace except I don't like their coffee. Courteous staff, free wi-fi, pretty decent pasties...but the coffee is just so-so and its expensive. Since I am a pastry fiend I can advise the cranberry and sunshine muffins are best. read more
