You HAVE to try beignets and chicory coffee at this historical gem! It's a little chaotic, but that's part of the fun! You might have to wait to be served, but these waiters and waitresses are pros and will get you your order, piping hot! The beignets were loaded with powdered sugar but delicious and worth the wait! While I was in town I took my husband to Cafe Du Monde for his first visit. We opted for the location in Kenner in hopes that it wouldn't be as slammed as the other spots deeper in NOLA. Thankfully it wasn't too busy so we were able to go up to the counter and order food immediately. Beignets here are top notch and nowhere can touch how good they are especially when fresh! The staff were incredibly friendly and the space was immaculate. We also grabbed some souvenir mugs because how could we not? My husband loved the beignets and coffee here and is already jonesing to return! read more

Was visiting NOLA for the first time and wanted to come here because it was highly suggested to me for beignets. As I was touring the Decatur street location, not only was the to-go line for beignets super long but they also only took cash, which I didn't have. I saw that this location was right by my hotel in Kenner. They also accepted card, which I preferred. Inside the location was not crowded at all, and people were sitting scattered. It didn't take long to receive my hot beignets and sit down to enjoy them. They were warm, light, airy, and fresh. I really didn't need to eat all three, and donated the other two to a homeless person. All this time, I just thought it was a fancier donut, but it's its own entity in terms of being slightly different. read more

I've been here many times before and I love the beignets. I usually will go through the drive thru though. This night I actually ended up going inside and it was great. Everyone was super nice. The beignets were ready in about 5 minutes. Super fresh, hot. My son enjoyed himself and they even gave him one of the hats which brought me back to my childhood days! I think moving forward we will be coming to sit inside and have the experience . Highly recommend. read more

I stopped by on my way home just for a small chat, colossal mugs, a coffee cup and 3 beignets. It was pouring out so this is the best pick me up for me! I've always liked any of the locations because the service is always great. No matter who helps you, you're for sure get some sort of special story. I love to visit when I'm in town and have a need for some delicious, hot beignets and cafe au lait. No other place compares or even comes remotely close. Their cafe au lait is just superb. They also have other coffee but hey if you come here you must get the cafe au lait. Avoid black clothes because the powdered sugar on top is plentiful! read more

Well once you go into this restaurant you're just going to have a seat. They are going to spot you and they will come over and help you out with your order. You can't go wrong here. There are a lot of Asian ladies as servers here. I went to New Orleans thinking I would see more authentic New Orleans people there but it was more Asian there. This location is actually close to the airport and while it's not the legendary location, it still serves up fluffy light beignets sure to delight anyone who searches them out. On this day my niece and I stopped in for iced coffees and little pillows of deliciousness. This location is large and the décor resembles Decatur Street in style, it lacks the hustle and bustle of a busy New Orleans street. No clip clop of the mule pulled carriages, the tapping of a you g dancers feet, music wafting through the air or tourists queuing up. No this location seems more the quite respite and while I have visited several times; it never seems busy. It's the hot tip if you want authentic beignets before heading out of town or first thing when you arrive (I'm having In-n-Out déja vu) from some far away place that doesn't serve up this locals only delicacy. I give just one bit of advice, if you grab and go, take your first bite before you get in the car or powdered sugar will surely take it's place beside the glitter between the seats read more

Nevermind the long lines. Workflow is 100 here. It's easy in easy out. Obviously this place is world famous so I'm not gonna tell you how amazing the beignets are. But the experience is so cool. First it's CASH ONLY. I believe there are 2 lines, one for exclusively beignets and one for everything else. Have your order decided quick so when you get to the window you can tell them. It's fast. GET NAPKINS and anything else you need at that time! Stirs, sugar, straws etc because going back to the window Isn't really an option. I found a ton of open spots to sit, and it's covered so you're out of the sun. PARKING was kinda cray...I found street parking about a block away and somehow parked in an area that wasn't ticket-worthy? Or I got lucky and didn't get a ticket. Good eatins. read more

Cafe Du Monde... when in NOLA This location is right near the airport. If you are renting or returning a car, this place is minutes away... and about 12 mins from the actual airport. So convenient. I noticed that the beignets taste slightly different depending on the location, and I must say this one is THE BEST so far. It cannot get any fresher than this. I came by around 4:15pm on a Tuesday, and there were only 2 people inside. NO LINE- it was amazing. Customer service was quick and efficient, and the cashier told me they were going to make my beignets on the spot. Minutes later, it was ready. So hot I couldn't even eat it right away. The freshest and best beignets ever, covered in a mountain of powdered sugar! Yum! Thank you and I'll definitely be returning here. Happy eating! read more

When you want beignets there's really only one place that offers the nostalgia of New Orleans and the same great service every time. Plenty of parking. East access in and out. Same great flavor of those delicious puffed powdered sugar southern donuts. This location also has a small shop of souvenirs. All around for perfect for those of us who don't want to drive into the city. read more

This place hit the spot for breakfast for an 8am layover!! Was exploring the airport for a light meal that was cost friendly and stumbled upon this lil window. Line was short and I received my order of beignets & cafe au lait right away. I would say the beignets are not quite as fluffy as the French quarter ones, but still deliciously enjoyable, esp compared to other airport food!! Not too marked up either!! Went one morning and got 2 cafe au laits, one original and one iced. I asked the worker at the window what the difference was and they shrugged their shoulders. We got the coffee with coffee ruining down the sides, at the drive thru window. The coffee was so burnt we couldn't even drink it. We get cafe au lait frequently, they're strong but this was just horrible. The beignets were rubbery and powder sugar was crumby so they'd say out for a while. I ordered 8 order and 4 order separate beignets and the only thing they pack is 4 and 4 orders but charge me for 12 orders. I will not be back here for sure dishonest store. read more

Yum. So glad we decided to wait and come here while staying with friends instead of fighting the crowd at the Jackson Square location. It's the same stuff and no crowds. We ordered the cafe au lait and an order of beignets each. One of the coffees we ordered in the travel mug so we could take a souvenir with us. I don't drink coffee unless it's made with boiled or steamed milk and this was absolute delicious. The beignets were nice and puffy and warm. And they were bathed in powdered sugar. So dang good! Definitely worth stopping in to have it. They are good in their specialty for sure! The place was nice and bright and clean as were the restrooms. And the staff is all very friendly. read more

Cafe du monde is a historic place in New Orleans and I'm so glad I got to try! I wanted to visit the one in the French Quarter but the line was long all day & I'm sure the beignets are delicious no matter the location. At this one near the MSY airport, the inside is pretty large and there weren't that many people for a Sunday morning. The beignets lived up to their reputation. Loads of powdered sugar on the outside and the beignet itself was nice and doughy on the inside. Must visit...and then visit again! read more

You may need to speak Spanish if you have any questions about the menu items. All but 2 workers seemed annoyed to be working today. But the service was fast and the beignets were excellent! Cafe Du Monde has been cranking out fried pillows of dough in New Orleans since 1862 and they're an institution. This was my first trip to New Orleans, yet I was very familiar with them. We spent our first night at a hotel near the airport in Kenner and this shop was nearby. Without the long lines reported at the French Quarter location, which is open 24 hours, this one provided a good introduction. Stifle any urges to sneeze while sitting with a plate of three beignets in front of you. You will create a cloud of powdered sugar that might clear in an hour or so. To say they dust their begneits with the fluffy sugar does not come close to describing it. The begneits were hot and tasty. I'm not a big coffee fan, so the cafe au lait, spiked with chickory and milk, didn't appeal to me. But my companion said it was fine. They didn't realize it, but a couple of their employees were comedians. At separate times while we were sitting there, they came out into the dining room to wipe down the powdered sugar-covered tables. The first man wiped off the table next to us but only got about half the visible sugar picked up. A few minutes later, another man came by and got about half of the amount left. We didn't stay long enough to see if a third wiper could have gotten the small table cleaned off. We laughed as we walked out. read more

Very convenient location of Cafe Du Monde for those who weren't able to visit the original location. The service was quick and professional. The beignets were just like how I remembered it- amazing! The frozen coffee mocha au lait is very strong but delicious. It is located in Concourse B right before you go to the actual gates! Im pretty sure its actually purple food coloring and not actual ube, the only reason why I'm not placing a 1 star is because the first time I bought a cake from this place, it was actually good (some coffee cake). This bakery made decent cakes till I tried YOUR UBE CAKE. If you want to copy trends and mix asian culture into your goods, then DO IT PROPERLY, or at least research on how to make ube. Try making ube jam instead and place it in the cake, that would taste WAY better. Also the yellow icy part inside the cake would've been delightful if it was cheese and not some random yellow piss ice. Ube is commonly topped with cheese, this bakery really missed the opportunity to actually be culturally on point. So much for Ube getting mainstream if none of these businesses get it right anyway. They always mess up asian cuisines and culture by making their "own version". Dont disrespect our ube broski (I can feel/taste the ube on the paste but it just isnt enough, it needs more) (update, i take it back. Tried it in the morning where it wasn't as cold. It was actually soft and spongy, the ube taste was stronger and it was quite delectable. Keep up the good work, i see room for improvement though)

I picked: a large fluffy maple roll. The outside reminded me of a croissant in the best way with some mild maple sweetness and the inside was moist, pillowy, and rich. I heated it up in the oven next day which made it even better. A square coconut roll... crisp and flaky on the outside with the most delightful sweet coconut cream inside and flaked almonds on top. This was my favorite. Will get multiple next time. And a pair of taro rolls. These I was most excited for as I love taro, and they weren't bad at all, but were probably my least favorite of the 3, purely because they had an eggy aftertaste. They weren't overly sweet with a nice smooth taro filling. I also tried a taro milk tea with soy milk. These normally include lavender too, but I asked for mine without. The flavor was off the charts good. Strangely it was nothing like the usual taro drinks I've tried and I couldn't place what I was tasting, but it was rich and creamy and so satisfying. Only thing that bummed me out was that I ordered boba and there wasn't any. :(

Nice and bright, beautiful green matcha. The flavor is great. My problem was, that's all I could taste was the might. Almost forgot there was chocolate in there because I couldn't taste it at all but I watched the barista put it in the cup and it wasn't very sweet. Still a great matcha by itself. I'd definitely go back because I was eyeing the lavender matcha. Besides the lack of chocolate flavor and the wait time this is a nice coffee shop and definitely worth visiting.
