Part of the way through my 4 year old son wasn't standing still in his square (again he has trouble understanding) and without warning or any other words instructor Tim told him "get off the mat now" in front of all his peers and on his first day. My wife packed up and left with my son. If you are going to invite children to attend and learn then you damn well better be able to teach and work with kids in a respectful manner and not embarrass them in front of an I tire class. This instructor is unprofessional and should not be allowed to handle classes with children period. The owner did reach out and seemed courteous but doesn't change the fact that the instructor is ill fit for teaching.

The physical therapy center is attached to the YMCA, which makes it convenient for those that also need to use the pool as part of their regimen or physical Theraphy. However we feel that they could use more exercise equipment and weights. So for the meantime we decided to pass on and continue to search for a gym membership elsewhere.

Unfortunately, they made some changes and consolidated some spaces, etc. One of those changes was severely cutting their hours. I believe they close at 8:00 p.m. throughout the week now, and 2:00 p.m. on the weekends! These hours don't fit most people's lives, especially mine as a night shift nurse. I can handle rearranging some equipment and even closing the kids club, but if I can't get there because they close so doggone early it's not worth me paying for it. By the way, even though they cut out several hours per week of available gym time for clients, they did not cut out any of the very expensive monthly dues for members. This business is owned by ProMedica and if I didn't know any better I would think that they didn't care about encouraging people to live a healthy lifestyle, and that they only cared about money. And then I remembered that I am a ProMedica nurse and that is absolutely, 100%, the case! They made these changes to the hours from a financial standpoint, not thinking about their clientele or giving a crap if anyone actually visits the gym (so long as they pay their monthly dues).

Without going on too much about the retreat I was attending, the facilities were fantastic! The houses are set up with lots of bunks - there were four in our room, and five in the next room through to ours. Each bunk had it's own separate storage space and light. There were mattress pads and contour sheets on the beds, but you were responsible for bringing your own sleeping bag or sheet/blankets. There were also plenty of small group meeting areas. For large group meetings, the barn was great! The kitchen staff did a great job and were very accommodating with our food. There were several in our party with specific dietary requests, and I didn't hear any complaints about folks going hungry. If your group is looking for somewhere to hold a gathering/retreat/camp, I'd definitely recommend High Scope!
