Great club for the facilities, but no longer has childcare for families. For families with young kids, I'd recommend looking elsewhere.

Parker and Jason were great at explaining the membership options and gym fees. I feel like most of us are excited about joining a health club, and more often than not, we bypass the understanding that all gyms have yearly fees and cancellation fees; this is completely normal. In my opinion, the highlights of this gym include the space and variety of rooms available to ensure a great workout. They offer 2-3 different machines for the upper, mid, and lower body, which is great! For advanced fitness enthusiasts, this means you won't have to wait to complete your workout routine. For beginners, I highly recommend hiring one of their skilled personal trainers to start your fitness journey the right way. Any day is a good day to practice self-care. So far, one of my favorite machines is the standing hamstring curl; this machine is a gem, and I'm super happy they have it. The gym is clean, the bathrooms are neat, the weights are organized, and they offer spray bottles with towels for you to wipe down the machines after every use. I have yet to try the classes and provide feedback, or the smoothie bar, hydro massage, and sauna. Eventually, I will. This health club has a lot to offer for everyone, no matter what fitness level you are at. I'm glad I started going here, and I'm looking forward to making new friends.

Planet Fitness sent me an NPS survey asking for honest feedback. I gave them a low score and explained why: it's hard to recommend a fitness club when the staff doesn't reflect the health-oriented mission of the brand. They asked for feedback, and I answered the question. A few days later, I received a phone call from the Sylvania location telling me that my comments were "inappropriate" because Planet Fitness is a "Judgement Free Zone." The irony is hard to miss. The company solicited my opinion, then scolded me for giving it. Meanwhile, the brand itself openly labels certain behaviors as "lunk" behavior--so the judgment evidently only flows one direction. Instead of having a professional conversation about my concerns, they reprimanded me. At that point, I asked them to cancel my membership, which they did immediately and without any real interest in understanding why. If a business isn't prepared to hear honest feedback, it shouldn't ask for it. This experience showed me that the "Judgement Free Zone" motto is applied selectively and inconsistently. Unfortunately, that ended my time as a member.

Maybe they don't care to report why I canceled or maybe its just they don't care. This is ridiculously and but the pay check from their neglecte to hire competent individuals is not my problem. Places that intentionally do things like this should have to pay 5x the amount that they have stolen.

Q: How can you tell when you meet a CrossFitter? A:…read moreIMMEDIATELY they tell you so. So I'm not sure if that's true, but I will admit that if you do CrossFit, you're always thinking about CrossFit because some muscle group(s) is/are always sore. And if you're thinking about it, you're probably talking about it... CrossFit Toledo is an excellent training facility with excellent instructors. This place is big and clean and equipped with everything you need to learn the craft safely and effectively. Not only can you learn CrossFit here, you can learn to excel at it. If you're motivated, and you listen to the coaches, you can get a kickass workout in this place no matter your CrossFit experience level or fitness level. Warning: Even if you think you're in shape, CrossFit Toledo will expose your weaknesses. Be prepared to deal with this. Again, listen to your coaches, work hard, and you WILL get better. If you're a newbie, you don't have to worry about biting off more than you can chew. Check your ego at the door, learn how to "scale" (that is, learn how to cheat a little while learning the movements and still get an appropriate workout). Also, every new member goes through a couple of "skills" classes where you get, essentially, one-on-one instructions regarding the basic lifts and movements. Workouts; There are 5 classes per day (0600, 1200, 1600, 1700, and 1815), and class size is limited to 12 people. Every class is different. I repeat, every class is different. But, each class is similar in that they all consist of a warmup, a strength phase, and a conditioning phase. There's also a "homebody" option. Even if you have equipment at home, half the benefit of this place is the coaching and the camaraderie. ALSO, there are multiple open-gym sessions through the week. Camaraderie: It's definitely there; this seems like a great group of people. One guy acknowledges that some people call it "CultFit." But hey, can you name ANY fitness pursuit isn't "culty?" Bodybuilding? Culty for the past 80 years. Running? Not as culty as it was, but still very culty. Yoga? Yep, laid back and totally culty. Don't worry about it. You can do CrossFit and still be friends with a person who doesn't...but only one. 5 stars!

The gym space is comfortable and feels more like a family run business than a chain business which I truly appreciate. Love the coaching staff with good Crossfit and Olympic lifting experience. The culture of the gym is very friendly and feels very accepting to outsiders, including myself as seemingly the only gay Crossfitter in Toledo. I definitely give all my thumbs up to CFT. Also, very kid and dog friendly, which is great.

It doesn't have hi-tech equipment, but it doesn't need it either. The plates are very well organized and kept in separate areas for the most part. Over the last few years this gym was consistently one of the cleanest public places (yes, during COVID), both the common areas and bathrooms with showers. I get it - it's an INTENSE workout and people sweat, but at these prices certainly they can afford routine cleaning! I know they don't clean between classes because TWICE I've stayed after for various reasons (socializing after class- asking for tips etc) and seen the next class come in and start with ZERO cleaning in between unless you count the patrons wiping their pit stains and ass sweat with a tiny Clorox wipe or cardboard masquerading as paper towels. The owner is kind of a douche. If you don't like "fat people" you probably are in the wrong business. Shaming peoples dietary and lifestyle choices isn't going to whip them into shape. Wouldn't it be better to elevate someone instead of putting them down? A little inspiration with the perspiration would go a long way
