Planet Fitness is an awesome gym! Majority of my workouts have always been completed outside "boot camp" style. I never thought would enjoy working out in a closed in space. I initially experienced planet fitness as a guest of my daughter for a couple of weeks. I enjoyed the facilities so much that I joined! the access to equipment that works at all times, clean restrooms and friendly staff have been my favorite thing about my home location. The staff are always moving around the gym cleaning, checking to see that all guest are doing ok and making their presence available if needed. Mrs. Brenda always greets my husband and Me as well as all guest by name which makes our experience very personable and valued! Came here for the first time with my son. This place is always pretty slow and huge. It's prefect because all the machines are practically available for us anytime. They have a beautiful locker room. They have a bunch of lockers to use, showers, changing rooms, and an area to blow dry your hair. They have water station and a bunch of cleaning station. This gym is perfect for the those who don't wanna lift too much weight and doesn't have to be ashamed. I got the Black membership for $23 which allows me to take a guest app the time, access to their massage chairs, tanning booth, discount to their merchandise, etc. Otherwise, access to their gym is only $10 a month. The parking lot is huge. The staff are friendly and helpful and the place is just clean. read more

Definitely one of my favorite PF's. If I can change one thing it would be the hours of operation. They currently open at 4am weekdays. But the gym was nice. Definitely on the larger side for a PF. Very nice and well thought out gym layout. More cardio machines than I'm used to seeing. Dumbbells, racks and machines were all in great working order. The gym was very clean and staff friendly and engaged with the customers as they came in. Looking forward to coming back if I'm in Bryant, Tx again. read more

I loved my first visit to Planet Fitness! The 30 minute workout station was perfect it gave me a good sweat! I'm not very experienced in various types of equipment, so when i was able to use it all easily I was pretty amazed with myself. The treadmills were awesome! They tell me how many calories I burn based on how many mph I'm going. The locker rooms are glorious for they have 4+ hairdryers and they look so fancy for a locker room. Something funny, they have an alarm for if somebody is slamming/making unneccisary noises like grunting so it makes the place pretty peaceful. A perfect gym for someone thats never been to one in their life. Don't be nervous, you don't need to be nervous here! read more

Shady as hell customer service. They lure you in with their cheap monthly prices, tell you that you can cancel at any time, and then hit you with all kinds of fees if you want to cancel. My wife and I signed up for a membership and asked details on the fees. Were told only a monthly fee. Later, we get charged with a much larger charge than the monthly fee we were told and called in. Turns out there is an annual fee as well and we can't cancel after the annual fee without a further cancellation fee. No one said anything about this.... A year later, we go to cancel the membership because we have found a new gym that we prefer. We get fed another line of, "You are to close to the annual renewal and you will be charged the annual fee because of it." You have to give them a 7 day notice of cancellation as well as go in person in order to cancel your membership without all the additional fees...You CANNOT cancel over the phone like any other service. Again, something that was not mentioned to us when we tried to cancel the first time even though we asked what else we would need upon cancellation. Overall, just shady as hell and no one tells you all the information. Don't buy in to their cheap prices for a mediocre gym experience. read more

Couldn't be less happy. In light of the recent pandemic my wife and I chose to cancel our memberships. We followed online instructions and appeared in person only to be told we couldn't cancel at this location in person and had to send certified mail requesting cancellation, yet another fee we are paying for something we aren't using. We follow directions and 17 days after going in we get billed for monthly membership, 10 days after receiving proof of delivery and 13 days from the signature acknowledging receipt. I assume this is an error and call in today. I had the unfortunate experience of speaking with one of the rudest, most condescending people I have ever spoken too, Becca. She spoke down to me, sighed audibly and was all around unpleasant. After 10 minutes of explaining the situation three times I'm told, that my membership is under contract, that a commitment and contract are different and any adult should know that. I asked multiple times when I signed up if I was locked into a time frame and was told absolutely not, planet Fitness doesn't ever require any span of time commitment to be a member, I only have to agree to monthly and annual membership fees. Further I am told to cancel I'd have to pay $60. Then when checking my wife's membership she tells me we missed the July date by one day, and it had to be processed by the 11th. I reiterated that they signed for it the 11th, that following website instructions we were there in person on the 9th. She said we can't expect them to process things the day they are received and we should know that a certified mailing was the only way to cancel and I'm wasting time calling about this. I ask for a manager and am told there's not one and he usually gets in Monday afternoon, keep in mind this call is 7:30 Friday morning. No manager for days begins to explain the horrible service and absolutely dreadful Becca. If you're wanting a gym I'd highly recommend looking elsewhere. If Becca is any indication of the quality of employees that are working here I'd seriously question the cleanliness and commitment to safety UPDATE After several days of back and forth emails with the customer service team, I am no closer to having this resolved. In fact they suggested I go through the same steps that started this mess in the first place. What a joke. If you choose to join this gym don't say you weren't warned. read more

It is way too hot at the gym lately. I expect to sweat during a work out but not while doing warm up stretches. I looked at (and took a picture of) the thermostat yesterday in the main part of the gym. It was on 74 in the main part and 77 in one of the back rooms. Insanely hot when trying to run on a treadmill or lift weights. Today the thermostat was on 76 in the main part of the gym. "Both OSHA and The American College of Sports Medicine have recommendations. IFA has developed the following along those guidelines: The aerobics, cardio, weight training and Pilates areas should be at about 65 to 68 degrees." What's going on? Trying to save money at the expense of your members!? Something needs to change! The tanning rooms was so hot today, I couldn't even stay in there to complete getting dressed...I was dripping sweat and felt as if I might pass out, so grabbed my shoes and jewelry and finished getting dressed out in the black card area. I've also noticed that the staff are not cleaning the rooms and being as attentive as they used to be. No one cleaned the room when I came out today before a lady just walked in there. Same thing happened yesterday to a friend of mine. She waited several minutes for a staff person to come clean the bed and no one came so she just decided to clean it herself and go in. Again, something needs to change. If they don't, I will be considering giving my money to another gym even if I have to pay more. I've been a member since they opened and things used to be so much better a few years ago. read more

This is a great place to start if you are looking into improving your overall physical fitness and the membership itself is inexpensive if you actually want to benefit from all of the equipment here. However, as other people mentioned, this is a place to start; if you are serious about working out and need a place to start, this is the place. If your are already in the grind and want to do more with significantly heavier weights and even more specialized machines, you will want to look for another gym. The place is always clean and they recently upgraded their machines and renovated the place. If you need a place to start your journey to health and wellness, this is a great place to start. read more

Love PF and this location in particular. You're not in all the hustle and bustle of central college station. The crowd that goes seems to be more mixed in age rather than just all college students. There are so many machines and equipment, I never have a problem waiting for my turn. I love the locker room, free water refill, and also like that the staff always tells you good bye as you leave. This is a really good club. Wifi was adequate to stream music, and it was really clean. This one has a pretty open floor plan. Bring your water bottle also because they have a filtered water station with the water fountains. Awesome club. read more

This location is awesome! It is always clean staff is super friendly and attentive. The tanning beds are always great! Massage chairs they have everything you need except free weights . The only thing I saw that I didn't like was a girl that worked there kept hassling this guy for being on his phone. Which I know these are the rules but the way she handled it was rude. read more

I am a new member. The facility is clean and the equipment seems to be new. However, I was very dis appointer in the "training" that was provided. There are many classes to chose from, but they are not what I expected. I signed up for "Abs" class. A woman came in and had us get on the mats. With no warmup she had us doing strenuous leg exercises to strengthen our abdomen. With about a 15 second rest she moved to the next exercise. I had asked about coming in early and she said 5 minutes is enough. I expected some warm up. When I asked about training on how to use various equipment I was told to read the signs on the equipment. FRAUD!!! UPDATED 3/14: Wells Fargo Fraud and Financial Crimes Division ruled in my favor and forcibly refunded my money, saying that Planet Fitness indeed had no authorization to continue charging me. BEWARE! I was a member of this gym for about a year, and then I moved to Memphis. I tried cancelling once I got there, and it was super difficult. They told me I had to send a certified letter asking to freeze my account until the 12 month contract was up, and a second document requesting that they cancel my account when the contract is up. I did. A month later, and I'm still getting charged. I asked them why, they said they never got it. So they said on the phone that they would freeze it, and asked me to send the letter/documents again for their records. I did. The charges stopped. Now, nearly 8 months later in February, I noticed that they've been charging me again since October. They refuse to refund these charges, now claiming that they never received the second letter either. They say that there is nothing they can do. So it would seem that Planet Fitness requires cancellations to be done via the unreliable post office, simply so they can claim they never received them. Avoid this company, as they clearly use fraudulent charges to buoy their business and make up for low membership dues. To date, I have been charged over $220 since telling them to cancel my freeze/cancel my membership. The BBB has been contacted, and I am initiating fraud complaints with Wells Fargo. UPDATE: I have been in contact with the regional manager of Planet Fitness, and told because they can't find complete phone records of the conversations I had about freezing and cancelling my membership, there is just nothing they can do about the money they stole from me. So, record your phone calls with Planet Fitness folks, or else! read more

Working out here is fine. Check in is awful! They told us we cannot check in if we forget our card, and NOW during the busiest part of the day, they are turning the scanners facing them so you have to ASK them to turn it around so you can check it. I asked why they were not facing forward and they gave me some condescending response such as "We want to see you more before we miss you." I'm used to gyms that welcome you and try everything they can to get you in and to stay. They are worried about their process, not you! Period. read more

As a place to workout its not bad. However as public relations and customer service on anything outside of signing you up and check in is horrible. Never have any billing inquiries! They will gang up and argue you down in front of everybody. The term discretion or dignity is not their strong point. Classic customer service and management empowerment is out of grasp. They would rather prefer to cancel your contract than keep a paying member. I was told verbally that I would not be billed a buy out on my contract, but seeing how "world class" they handle my acct... I strongly feel that they are incapable of honoring their word. read more
