Longmire Trufit is getting more attention after years of neglect. It's a boutique gym, catering to the neighborhood. But the weight machines are old and rusted (from being left outside when the gym was remodeled). It's time to replace weight machines and add 2 more recumbent bikes--there are only 4. Under Aerofit's ownership, there were 8. Back in the day, before COVID and Trufit's intentional neglect, Longmire was crowded by young and old alike. Most of the treadmills have been replaced recently. It's time to replace the rest of the old equipment. It's not good for the Trufit brand to ignore the sad state of the equipment. read more

I come here for the pool, because it is literally the only indoor workout pool other than the a&m rec which I am not paying for as a a non-student. The pool area is awful. Super rusty and gross. If it wasn't the only place for me to go I absolutely would not come here. read more

I got a membership here specifically for the pool so I can swim laps every day. But it's a pretty run down building. The whole pool area is completely rusted out (walls, ceilings, floors). A portion of the ceiling above the pool is cracked & falling apart. Even the door between the pool & locker room is rusted so bad that the bottom of it has broken off. I spoke with mgmt the next day & he claimed that he's been trying to get them to fix it for a long time now. read more

UPDATE: Down from 2 stars to 1. I got another marketing call 2.5 weeks after this review & a conversation with multiple employees about me wanting to be taken off the call list. "Ok ma'am, I will do that and pass this message on to our team." Thinking they are pretty disorganized & are giving me the vibe they're money hungry. Bottom line, no one on the phones listens. What in the world. I inquired by call to this gym as I was deciding between several in the area. I made a appointment to check it out buthad to cancel the day before when some plans changed. I have since been texted 3x on my personal number "when would you like reschedule, today or tomorrow" and offered a free-week promotional in market-y language. Also THREE people have called me today, including the general manager texting me to join after I replied "stop" to all texts and asked them to stop calling me. RUN!! DON'T JOIN THIS GYM!! This gym needs to close. The air conditioning has been out. They think fans will replace air conditioning in the gym. It stays filthy, full of hair balls and dust balls. The staff just shrugs their shoulders when its pointed out. The knee matts are so old and cracked, treadmills are in a state of constant repair or out of service. The staff keeps referring to "Corporate" when speaking of repairs. Some invisible being somewhere unreachable. You ask for the "Corporate" number and you get the billing department. They don't know how to reach corporate either. The Better Business Office needs to get involved. read more

I have been a member of this gym for over 3 years. Grandfathered into a great low price for the highest tier membership. My experience up to this point has been non-eventful and basically use the gym as needed. For whatever reason, lately, I have been stopped when I scan in only to be asked the same questions regarding my membership. Question #1: "whats your phone number?" , after I give them that information they say they cant find me in the system. Then comes question #2: "how much do you pay and how long have you been a member?". I don't know if this situation is unique to me but I am tired of this hassle. Only for this particular person to look perplexed and tell my my membership has been expired since 1963. ‍. For those wondering I am not that old and Tru Fit has not been around that long. Anyways, she always calls the same guy over who then says "it must be a glitch in the system. It's showing here your active so you good to go." What the heck is going on Tru Fit? Im not even on a contract anymore and will put a stop payment to my membership fees. Do better. As far as the equipment it suffices. Pretty much the same at any gym. Some locations are bigger but Longmire is closer to me and it suited my needs. Hope this helps anyone reading this. After my review 9 months ago complaining about the steam room being down, it's been repaired and has stayed working for quite a while. The test will be how quickly it will be fixed when it breaks. I have noticed cleanliness has improved greatly. But I do notice that there's little welcoming from the staff. When I walk in they take my card and scan it while continuing their conversation with each other or checking phones. Yesterday for the first time I was told to have a nice day when I left. No one seems to enjoy their job and it shows on their face. But if you don't care about that stuff and just want a place to work out and leave, it suffices. read more

Updated review: I have been a member since July and I will not renew again next year. Most of ellipticals have issues: not pkugged in, stuck on a channel or the audio isn't working. I specifically joined this gym to work on the elliptical and the personal televisions built in were a selling point for this gym but what good are they if they are crap?!?! I've addressed this issue to the front desk and contacted local management but nothing is ever done. The facelift on the facility is nice but the equipment is what I am here for and if it isn't working as expectrd why should I continue to spend my money here? read more

Bottom line: This business isn't worth the money you spend. It's gone steadily downhill since late 2019. This business does a mediocre at best job keeping its pools in repair. Typically, the wading and/or lap pool is closed about 1/3 - 1/2 of the time in the December and January periods. When the facility is only open Monday to Friday, I'd expect better for what I'm paying each month in advance. For instance, the week in 2021 between Christmas and New Year Day, one or both were not available the majority of the time. This happened in 2020, 2019, and 2018 for the same period. So far this week of January 3, 2022, the lap pool is not open and there isn't a projected date when they will have it repaired. This makes it difficult if you race in any sport requiring you to swim. There are only three places to swim year-around in the BCS area. This facility, the A&M rec center, and the open air pool in Bryan next to the high school. Gaining access to the rec center is virtually impossible unless you're a student, faculty, or staff. The Bryan pool forces you to drive around 11-15+ miles if you live on the south side of College Station. Regardless, I don't recommend you use the TruFit - Longmire facility. As for weight training, you're better off buying a TotalGym or free weights. With the number of days of good weather here, you're better off walking outside in the fresh air. read more

DO NOT JOIN!! If I could give zero stars, I would. I first called looking for a pool to swim laps and was told they have a standard-size lap pool. I came to find out that's a lie, and on top of that, the pool has now been shut down for a few days, from what I've heard, due to cleanliness issues. Due to finding a different pool to use (the only reason I joined), I tried to cancel my membership. When I joined, I was told my membership was month-to-month, cancel whenever, no penalties, which is a big reason of why I joined. Now I'm being told I need to pay the next month's fee and a cancellation fee. I was shown the contract I signed. Come to find out, there is a second page with hidden fees on it that is below the last signature line, and when signing on the computer, was not visible or acknowledged. I've also been trying to cancel for over 2 days. I originally went in person but the 2 workers couldn't help me and also didn't have any phone number for corporate. So I got an email address, which I was told I could message to cancel. I received a response saying I couldn't cancel by email and needed to call a number. I called the number at 2pm yesterday, had to leave a voicemail, and have not received a response. Zero professionalism, the worst customer service, and sleazy tactics to get you in and take as much money as possible, which is despicable in a college town where many people may not be able to pay over $100 to cancel a useless membership. Do what I didn't do, and listen to the reviews. Don't join. read more

PLEASE DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY HERE. I have been overcharged for MONTHS from this company. Even though I paid over $100 to downgrade my account (I would cancel it if I hadn't signed the 12 month contract) I am still being charged my old rate. I have tried to contact my home gym, Longmire, but have not been able to get a hold of the manager. The girls at the front desk have took my name and number 3 times this week but I have not received a call back. Candice, in particular, told me to "have a nice day" 4-5 times to get me off the phone while I was still trying to speak with her along with other rude remarks. I have never experienced worse service in my life and it really saddens me that someone in the customer service realm is being that way to paying customers. Companies like this do not belong in Aggieland. I have a membership at Gold's Gym now too - I highly recommend them instead! read more

My husband and I are cancer patients in our 70's. I have back pain due to osteoporosis and he has back pain and joint pain from radiation therapy and 40 yrs hard labor. We thought the warm water therapy would help us. We have had access to warm water therapy at another facility in Round Rock, Tx. We went in to join and told the staff member we only wanted to use the warm water therapy pool. 2 days later we tried the pool. It was far from warm! It was so uncomfortable and other members were in the pool and they said they will not turn up the heat. We called the next day to cancel. The staff member who signed us up said it was. 7 day free trial. On the website it offers a 7 day free trial. The staff member said we would not be charged for the first month or the annual fee. Then we go check our bank acct and they charged us for the whole month. I'm hoping they will do the right thing and refund our money. I will update if they do us right. read more

They got rid of the jacuzzi with the remodel which was a big draw for me at first. The saunas were always broken and staff wasn't always the friendliest. I got several marketing calls trying to sell me on more personal training like they were money hungry. The "trainers" are college students and like to work days and mornings and don't work around your schedule if you work full time. Even though my gym membership has ended they are still trying to run my card for personal training even though I haven't met with anyone in three months. I called the gym to explain this and they told me they could do nothing about cancelling the personal training that they sell at THEIR GYM. Someone was supposed to call me back and they never bothered to call me which is unprofessional. read more

Tru Fit just don't pay attention to what their members use or they would have more recumbent bikes. They are now down to three recumbent bikes with the TV working maybe 25% on the Precor. I am in most days between 6am-9am and rarely see people using the ellipticals that replaced a couple recumbents. The recumbents are utilized There is a fair share of 55+ members and I know many prefer recumbent bikes for their cardio workout. I went to the new Texas Ave gym hoping for more......a beautiful new facility, but also lacking. Come on Tru Fit, upgrade and add some new recumbent bikes at Longmire. read more

I have provided legal documents to prove my move to PA but the admin at this location refuses to accept them and they daily pursue me for new proof requests. Exhausting and a real problem. I'm new to trufit and was told that the Longmire location has a full court basketball gym. I obviously asked if the court was good and in there response they said yes. Well they lied. It is the worse inside basketball court I have ever been to. The floor is hard like cement. You have a better chance enjoying an out side court than playing here. The floor is slippery. I even swept the floors and yet it is still very slippery. The goals are good but that's about it. And I'm simply writing this review for the people that get a membership to play basketball. I have worked at Aerofit, bought by TruFit, for eight years. My mother has been a member for 24. I grew up at this gym, and adored it. TruFit took over in October 2017, and has finally pushed me to quit as a fitness instructor there--a job I live for and that I'm so passionate about. Instead of saying how much management broke me down and made me feel like a pawn, I will list what's happened. We have yet to have a staff meeting with the instructors since TruFit took over. The "corporate" management is still a mystery. Earlier this year, my two 5:45 p.m. classes at Longmire were changed to 6 p.m. and no one at TruFit notified me, the instructor, this was happening. Not only did they not ask if this was what my class wanted, they didn't tell me about it. I found out by randomly looking at the schedule before the 6 p.m. classes were supposed to start. There is no communication with TruFit. We're told to do something, no matter what we or what members think. Countless people told me they felt like management ignored their valid concerns, and I didn't know what to tell them because it was the same for me. I was told my 6 p.m. class M/Th was moved back to 5:45 p.m. on a Thursday night, effective Monday. I had no time to tell my classes because there was no notice, and spent weeks starting class at 6 p.m. but getting to the gym 30 minutes early to catch people arriving at 5:45 p.m., to properly transition my class. I was not paid extra, and was told when the change was made that it could not be delayed formally to help transition my class. The changes happened all within a month, and were detrimental to attendance. Other classes were canceled/changed with no notice as well. In the midst of changing my times back and forth without warning, my class was randomly canceled one Monday for a fitness party. The reason I found out was because a participant saw a Facebook ad, and asked me on a Thursday if class was canceled Monday (four days from then) for it. No one sent out a party announcement, and no one told me whether my class would be canceled. After begging to have the class somehow because I didn't want to let my participants down with no notice, I was not given an answer until the Monday of the class, when I was told I could hold it in the parking lot. TruFit did a $2.5-million renovation at Villa, which had surround sound and a system to dim the lights in the exercise studio. The stereo system was removed in the reno, and the new studio did not get one or a light system. We've asked for a sound system and lights since the November reno, and we have been told the company does not want to order the stuff (or new mats!). We've been using a small speaker in the corner of the room that we've blown out trying to get loud enough for class, so it sounds like bad phone audio from a concert if you turn it slightly too high (the knob is loose, so you can't know where you've crossed the line). Each dance instructor had to buy Christmas lights and disco balls to string on the floor before class so we could have the dance environment our members expect, which takes an extra 10 minutes. We are not paid for that time and were not compensated for the lights we bought. (TruFit also took out the running track people loved.) I've been trying to fix repeated pay issues since February. TruFit owes me more than $50. It is June. No fixes. I was told by a boss at a location that I can't have a contact at corporate and no corporate contacts are online, which makes the lack of transparency even more unsettling. TruFit recently opened a new gym on Texas Ave. Mats needed for classes at Longmire were taken there, and so was a studio fan because we were told that a fan would not be ordered by the company. They built a new gym. They won't order a fan. TruFit moved multiple classes to its new Texas Avenue location without properly getting the message out, and I've had to absorb people coming into the studio after my class and tell them that the class they showed up for is actually happening 10 minutes away at another location. There is a severe lack of communication. The straw that finally made me quit happened Sunday, June 17. At 6:30 p.m., instructors were sent a message with a cut-down "summer slump" schedule for Longmire and told it would go into effect the next day. My Monday class was cut. I was told with 23 hours' notice it was gone, starting the next day. If TruFit wanted to chop classes, especially with double-digit (good!) attendance, at least a week's notice should have been given to tell people. It was not. There is no communication, even with instructors, and we have to constantly wonder what will happen next. We're made to feel unimportant, and our needs/feedback are ignored. While this is from an employee, so many customers have told me how unheard and ignored they feel--about classes and many other issues. So, after spending 20 of my 23 years of life here, I quit. read more

I was a member with aerofit before the change. We were not informed of anything including the major changes to kid related policies. We went in to cancel our membership and asked Shannon to check both names (mine and my husbands) to make sure we were able to cancel. She confirmed we were in fact able to cancel and signed the paperwork. Months later the billing department started calling us demanding payment. We paid over 400$ to cancel the first time. They now claim we aren't allowed to terminate and are demanding payment. The billing department has been extremely rude and I have personally been trying to contact Shannon on Longmire to discuss the issue for over a month. She has yet to talk to me and won't call me back. It's always some crazy reason. I'm going to file a claim with the BBB. No wonder the rating is so low across the board for these facilities. Terrible experience. I highly recommend somewhere with integrity like Orangetheory or Golds. People that actually treat their members with respect. read more

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! DO NOT ENROLL!!! I would give zero stars if I could. One sentence summary - The management lies to you. I went to this gym even before Tru Fit bought Aerofit. It was fine then, but ever since it changed to Tru fit, everything started going downhill. Not to mention failure to maintain the cleanliness and facility (they even stopped running their jacuzzi), their management is a total fraud. When Tru fit bought Aerofit, they "offered" the current customers to "transit their Aerofit contract to Tru fit" allowing us to have better rates. I was promised that my current Aerofit contract will no longer be valid, and hence signed a cancellation form. Then they asked for the processing fee, which I gladly paid back in December since my monthly rate was promised to decrease from $43 to $21. However, fourth month, and I am STILL paying $43. When I inquired why to ask for a refund, the current management told me that I am still under the Aerofit contract, therefore "a Tru fit member under the Aerofit rates." I told them that I signed a cancellation form, and turns out they cancelled my Tru fit membership with that form instead of the Aerofit. When I asked whether there was a scanned copy, they said no, and when I asked whether they keep the old documents, they said they "shred all of them once they are scanned." SO CONVENIENT ISN'T IT? They didn't even give me a copy of the cancellation form, and the management in December 2017 sent me an "Agreement Welcoming Letter" that apparently is NOT a contract - again a lie since I was given that letter AS A CONTRACT. With their management already changed five times in the last four months, there is no document left, no employees that will vouch for me. Now I am stuck having to endure such ridiculous and unpleasant treatment. SO SAVE YOURSELVES THIS TROUBLE AND JUST DON'T COME HERE. There are many other fitness gyms in College Station whose management is not a fraud. Go there, not Tru fit. read more

Another class cancelled tonight without it being posted on the website schedule! Locker room flooded again. No soap in the showers, they took away the water coolers. The front desk staff (while polite) are distinctly uninformed about ANYTHING. The Manager Shannon is always gone, never available. Treadmills continue to be inoperable without even being labeled. The training staff is top-notch and the group fitness instructors are very good. I just don't know how they are hanging in there. read more

The management that run this gym are extremely difficult to deal with and get ahold of. I moved from TX in June 2018 and was told I could cancel my membership. I've left multiple emails, voicemail and talked with employees in the billing department over the last 6 months and was just charged a renewal fee for an additional year. Unfortunately, this gym has gone way down hill since trufit took over in October. I used to love Aerofit, it was always clean welcoming and the classes were awesome. Since trufit has taken over the ladies locker room has become a disgusting mess. Water all over the floor, and no wet floor signs. The smell is overwhelming. The open gym area is dirty and half the machines are out of order. I signed up for aerofit just before the transition happened I wish I would have known about this company before hand. read more

When my husband and I got there, the person who we had an appointment with had already left because he forgot. This is about the 5th time an employee forgot an appointment with us. The staff here is rude and all they do is sit at their desks and check their personal phones. The machines are always broken and they do not care to fix them. The bathrooms are disgustingly dirty and behind the treadmills there was a pile of dead flaked off skin that sat there for over a day because it was there when I returned the next day. It has gone way downhill when this place was bought by trufit. A few times in the past 6 months I got there at 5 In the morning to work out and nobody showed up for over an hour. The other locations are not any better with the cleanliness. Honestly, go to Planet Fitness if you want a step above and that you place used to be the worst. I showed up for water aerobics this morning at 5:15 a.m. only to be told once again that no one monitored the pool water over the weekend, so the pool was closed. This lack of pool maintenance has been a regular problem since Tru Fit bought Aerofit. I have given this place a year to see how things would shake out after the ownership transfer, and in my opinion, they have failed miserably. My membership is up in April and I will not be renewing. I'm not giving my money to a place that does not care maintain their facility. read more

If I could I would give a negative star!! My husband and I went in to get some information and the girl at the front desk motioned for us to step into this office where we found Gabriel. He didn't stand ti great us and said forgive me for keeping my seat. He asked us a few questions and then basically told us he didn't want to show us now and asked if we could make an appointment. Told us how he had so much work and needed to get rest....blah blah...My husband said so basically you are saying you don't want to show us...with Gabriel's response of no, it's not that I don't want to show you...my husband looked at me and said I tell you what let's just tKe our money somewhere else. Then he apologized and my husband told him oh no don't apologize you probably just saved me a lot of money!! Unbelievable!!! If it to late to take a client on a tour fine, but tell your front desk to tell people coming in that we stop doing yours at 5 or 6 whatever but I would be happy to schedule you for a tour. NEVER EVER GO TO THIS GYM! WORST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE! Here's the story: I had a contract with this gym and canceled the membership in August because I move 1.5 hours away from their gym. I sent them all the information they asked for, and they told me (by phone because they did not reply to my numerous emails) that my contract would be cancelled. My mother paid for the account, so I did not know that she was still being charged. I find out in January that she's still being charged (different prices each month for some reason) and she ends up paying out the contract to be rid of them. I then talked to Chandler to try and get a refund. She said the situation was obviously not my fault because I was told my contract was cancelled in AUGUST! Then she said that the main offices didn't want to give me a refund because they did not like the proof I gave of moving. So, I send her other forms. She says there's no hope, and that was that. Then I talk to Paige and another admin worker, and they say it's bad that I still got charged, so they have me send in MORE official documents. I sent in 7 different documents proving that I lived NOWHERE NEAR College Station. Then they did not reply for almost 2 weeks and tell me that even though they said I could, in the very least, get a refund for cancelling the contract, they refused that idea too. When I was talking to them in person (I drove an hour and a half there to hopefully get help), another woman came in with the SAME problem. She too was being charged after her membership was cancelled. Their business is a scam. Do not go there unless you intent to waste money. I have already been in contact with the better business bureau about their scam. Watch out and NEVER come here. It was NEVER worth it. read more

This gym didn't change a thing from Aerofit. Was locked into an agreement that I had with Aerofit. Payed twice as much as everyone else who joined when Trufit took over, for a gym I never once used. Manager was a smart*ss from the start with a simple inquiry. I may have been in a contract, but the least they could do is let old contracts reframe the agreement instead of just sucking up money from an agreement that I didn't even make with Trufit. If you are going to try and seperate yourself from Aerofit's crooked ways, you can't also try and benefit from their old prices and contracts with no flexibility. Trufit may benefit in the short term from using Aerofit's old terms of agreement, but they will lose customers in the long run when the old contracts start to end. Being a jerk over the phone and not giving any flexibility isn't exactly the best way to seperate yourself from Aerofit's bad management. Don't blink, because Trufit will be gone before you know it if they don't change their penny pinching ways. I won't think twice about badmouthing them to any potential customers. read more
