Again, no one shows up to open the gym at 5AM!!! The ladies work out area is a mess, trash and are full, equipment all over the place. Carpet needs to be vacuumed. Ladies lockerroom needs to be vacuumed and cleaned, paper towels are nearly always out. Can't wait for Crunch Fitness to open in CStat this fall!! read more

Not the best but certainly not the worst. Very busy in the afternoon, but not very clean in the mornings. Toilet paper is usually empty, sauna is cold, and there's usually trash in the locker room. The weight selection isn't bad, needs some upgrades but it is what it is. The basketball court is nice but the balls are warped so bring your own. read more

For $10 a month I keep my expectations in check (although $9/month on the west coast gave me a brand new, clean gym). But the small price is the in my 'pro' I can list here. TruFit in Bryan is very dirty, I truly don't think they have any routine cleaning procedures or service. Bathrooms always out of toilet paper. Gym floors are horribly dirty. Sweat stains all over cardio equipment plus dust dirt and hair. Many broken pieces or entire units out of service. BEWARE OF THIS GYM!!! My husband and I have been members of this location for a year and have seen the club at its best and at its worst. When we joined a year ago the care of the equipment and the cleanliness of the gym and locker rooms seemed to be very good, but over the year both deteriorated to the point that we were considering cancelling our memberships. A few months ago they brought in new management and cleaning people who made a lot of positive changes. I just went in today to renew my membership and found out that all of the new management that had been hired were let go along with the cleaning lady who had been doing such a great job. I've decided not to renew my membership due to the change in management and cleaning people along with an increase in the cost of renewing my membership. Not sure if this new team will continue to maintain the gym and equipment or if everything will decline once again. This will be the third new management team since we became members. It seems that Tru Fit has trouble attracting and keeping quality employees and maintaining their gyms. read more

I've been with them for a year and we are canceling our membership. I can't take the broken equipment, poorly kept facility, and always out of soap in the restrooms- so gross to even think about- and the manager showing up late to open in PJs at least 6 times while pulling up in an Uber is unprofessional and unreliable. The filter on the water fountain wasn't changed for almost a year and when they finally hired someone who actually cleaned the place really well, they decided to let him go and hire a cleaning crew because they were cheaper and all of this before the holidays. Equipment is always broken for extended periods, missing pins, ceiling fans are broken and the air conditioning isn't set to cool enough to offset the ceiling fans not working. Equipment is crowded and you rarely see multiples of equipment so waiting your turn is very time-consuming. If I pay late I am fined, right? However if you no show or show up 15-30 minutes late and I miss my opportunity to work out is anyone refunding me? No. Therefore we have decided to leave and warn anyone else to save themselves the agony and just don't. Also- the lights in the parking lot are rarely on which is very dangerous for women at night. Be careful with this company. I signed up for a free 7 day FREE trial and cancelled within 4 days. I found out they charged me 5 days later and then another charge a month after that. I talked to 6 different people before I found someone who could help. They told me I signed a contract and would not take off any charges. When I initially signed up and then cancelled, they specifically told me I would not be charged. They ended up charging me around $110 and would not refund me. The location has equipment that doesn't work (7 different treadmills I tried had something broken). Staff was rude and nobody could help me with this issue. They wouldn't even give me the phone number to talk with the General Manager. I'm appalled by this company and don't recommend them at all. read more

As I'm walking on a dirty treadmill and the two treadmills on either side of me are broken, I can also see 6 machines in my line of sight that are broken and have been for over a month for some of them. Also, the water fountain has been broken for weeks. Can't believe that is even allowed. This gym is dirty. If you like a clean gym, this is totally not for you. I left this gym a year ago and the one I went to closed, so I had to come back to this one solely for the proximity to my house and accessibility. So unless you love to go into a gross locker room guaranteed to be out of toilet paper I would highly suggest you go ANYWHERE else. Not worth the cost considering how poorly run this gym is. Also when I finally figure out a solution to leave this place for good, they will charge my account for months just like they did last time. So yay for that. read more

I went in was told to call a 1-800 number to cancel I called and then the 1- 800 number tells me to email. This place is a joke. Do not get a membership! I'm a die hard gym goer. Fitness being my number one priority. I live in Bryan Texas, so this is the closest most convenient gym to go to, that being the only reason I go to this location. ITS DISGUSTINGLY DIRTY!!! I don't mean lacking cleaning now and then, I mean complete filth. There's no way this is a sanitary environment. I have so many photos taken over the last several months that show this place is NEVER cleaned. Everything from the floors, to the restrooms, the water fountains, to the fan blades. There's dust, grime and dirt EVERYWHERE. The mirrors are never cleaned, and the staff, management, and corporate don't care-for these cleanliness concerns have been brought to all of them SEVERAL times. I'm actually surprised in the time of Covid cleaning protocols this is happening. If you care about a clean and sanitary environment-look elsewhere. Grossest gym I've EVER been in. If 0 stars were an option I would give that instead of 1. Equipment is mediocre at best and I hope you don't like using cables because 9/10 times they are broken. And if any piece of equipment is broken, it's staying broken for at least 2 weeks. Management and employment is an absolute laughing stock. Need help with anything? Too bad! You can find the nearest employee flirting with other employees or their gym crush. But the manager should at least be worth something right? Wrong! I have personally called for several issues at least 10 times and each time I am told that a manager will call me back. Guess who never calls back? Thats right, the manager! If you ever plan on switching gyms or leaving college station like I did, you'll be pleased to know that they make it next to impossible to cancel! I have multiple payment issues thats been going on for months now. 1. I lowered my gym membership from the $30 package to the $17 package. But guess what? I continued getting charged $30 every single month! Yay! At some point I decided to switch my payment method from my checking account to my credit, but guess what? My checking kept getting charged! Awesome! Finally, after moving away from College Station it was time to cancel my membership. I went in person to do so and I was told I would be charged one last time as they require a 30 day notice, so it only makes sense that they charged me 3 more times! Lovely! This place is absolutely disgusting. They never clean anything anymore. Equipment and machines have been broken for months/years, and more break down every week. Bring open on time at 5am is a rarity. The employees all sit around and play on their phones or are working out rather than cleaning or handling other gym business. Toilets are always broken and never have toilet paper. The sauna is covered in trash and rarely works appropriately. Nobody that owns or works at this facility care. this place is a total scam. I I paid for my daughter got a membership to this place over a year ago, and I said I would pay for it. They said it would be $10 a month. About a week later they took out $99 additional when question I said this is a one time administrative fee. Which they took it out again this year. My daughter then signed up for a personal trainer they took out another $155 out of my account. Again without my authorization. They then took out another $155 out of the account and I questioned my daughter and she said the trainer quit and she hasn't even been taking the class . on September 27 I spoke to Nadine at their facility. Told her what happened also that my daughter had come up there and fill out paperwork to cancel the membership. Today October 3 I was charged another amount of $169. I had to call my bank and pay to have this company stop from taking money out of my account. They are a total total scam! You have been warned! read more

Let me first start off with how amazing the staff is! With one employee in particular, John is very hardworking and extremely personable always looking to motivate and help those around him! The fitness center's both here and in college station respectively are amazing. Plenty of weights to go around and a plethora of space available. The only thing I can say to add is dumbbells that go up to mid and high 200's and the extended barbell's to add more plates. They could very well have them I just have not found them. read more

I'm having the same problem as well ,I came in and signed up for a personal trainer the guy that signed me up his name was Anthony and he told me that it would be a 7 day trial and I could cancel in those 7 days and come with a good excuse .I signed up for this membership because I seen they had daycare when I took my son to the daycare the lady told me that they would contact me if my son cries longer then 15 mins he's not use to other people because he doesn't go to daycare and I have no family down here. It wasn't even 10 mins in and she called me and said that he was crying very panicking. I went in and checked on him and one of the other lady's was holding him and calming him down and it seemed to be working so I told her I will come back in to check on him ..so 5 mins later in on the treadmill and I see one of the lady's come out and ask is he doing better and her reply to me in a very rude and frantic way no, no not absolutely not ..so I had to stop the session with the trainer and go get him and when I walked in he was on the floor alone crying .I took him and we left .so at that point I decide that I would only workout when my husband is off and I cAme in on the 6th day to cancel for the personal training sessions, he tried to offer me different options but it just didn't work for me .he told me that he would get the paper in to his manager and that he would see key word (see)if it could be cancel ..I'm confused at this point because if it's a 7 day trial why wouldn't I be able to cancel and when I first signed up for the membership I had no idea that I was signing up for a 12 month contract...he needs to explain this more to potential clients because it looking like a scam and very bad customer service no manager has reached out to me yet and I've called and emailed numerous times.. read more

Worst location in BCS mostly bc of some of the (management, I think) staff. Very often the people at the front desk are talking, on their phones... Never wear masks (except for one older man who cleans). Over the years I've had several interactions with employees that have been rude/put out (ofc, there are some who are polite & professional). This hasn't really been a problem as I don't need chit chat, but as someone who's usually the only person to clean up after myself in here (not the gym's fault, I know most customers don't care about gym etiquette), to get attitude from an employee for not putting weights back is really rich. Weights that aren't included in the "true lady" room = weights that are tall enough to safely deadlift & hip thrust. I politely asked if they could be kept in there so we don't have to get them every time, and got an attitude. I've been sexually harassed at every gym I've been to, this one included, so the *only* reason this franchise is worth it is for that room. If I can't do everything in that room bc certain weights are not in there, what is the point? Hip thrusts with a barbell need weights of a certain height if you want to load a lot of weight. Women who don't want to be harassed DEFINITELY don't want to be doing hip thrusts around men. There are tons of those weights in the main room. There's no reason one set can't be kept in the true lady room. OR, when a customer politely responds with a valid explanation but you don't want to accommodate it (bc you're lazy, the reason she gave was she doesn't like getting them out of that room every morning, as if that's a difficult task), have some customer service communication skills. I don't pay $360+ a year and been a loyal customer for YEARS to get talked to like that. Like I'm a student and she's the teacher. This isn't school, I'm an adult, and I'm paying you for a "full service facility." read more

I was harassed and discriminated by a trainer at this gym when I went today as a guest with my husband. I was literally just getting started on the treadmill and he and another female trainer approached me while I was running to ask what I was training for. He proceeded to converse with me for over 10 minutes basically telling me 1) how my method of exercise was inappropriate for weight loss (he said my weight loss from cardio was muscle loss not fat loss- basically calling me skinny-fat), 2) bro-splaining metabolism to me (when I've literally been studying metabolism at a PhD level for 4 years now), and 3) telling me I need to strength train even though I repeatedly told him I know how and I've done it before and will continue to do it after I've lost a certain amount of weight. It's my body and I know exactly what I'm doing and I don't need someone at the gym telling me what I need to do. Also, I was the only person approached in the 1hr I was there. There was a man who was doing kettlebell swings for 30 minutes straight and a group of boys who were struggling with even deadlifting the bar, yet neither of them were approached. This leads me to believe I was discriminated against because I am a woman who doesn't fit the gym mold. This is absolutely ridiculous, because this gym has a "lady fit" section. Does that mean that I don't want to be judged by how I go to the gym I need to be in that room? Absolutely do not recommend anyone to go to this gym. You will get harassed and discriminated against. read more

Love this gym!! The classes are amazing my favorite are body bar, Zumba and circuits! The ONLY complaint that I have is that they are extremely understaff in the daycare area. At times there will be 20 kids at a time with only 1 staff member? How is that even allowed? I have a 10 week old and she is my first child so it's critical that someone pay attention to her if need be. They do call you if they can't calm your child down but it's kind of hard to calm a child down if you have 20 others to look after. It's not very beneficial to me either if staff is calling me and interrupting my workout to calm her down. With that being said get more daycare staff or you'll run off A LOT of moms. Im sure they would have no problem going elsewhere because our kids comes first. read more
