The building is a bit dated, but the locker rooms are new. I love the whirlpool, myself. It's helpful to have that and the dry sauna for recovery time after working out or spin class. Like OBVIOUSLY it's my very first time here. There are multiple floors and rooms to this place so I was pretty shocked when I asked where everything was that nobody offered me a tour. He just said "the locker room is downstairs" okay bro. Whatever. Needless to say that the indifference was noted and I'll be bringing it back to my work peers. Just because we get a corporate discount doesn't mean it's worth using. They have a great variety of equipment and different rooms, classes, etc but they have no interest in customer service. The instructors are nice and energetic. like the variety of workouts and the variety of exercises in the 30 min work out, like that it's only 30 (intense 30 but not longer), there's a nook for kids to sit if you have to bring kids, and they really get you in and out so you can go about your day or evening. After nearly 10 months, I find myself aiming to go at least 3 times a week, but if you are really into it you can multiple times a day or do a back to back workout (if you're crazy - lol). You see different ages and abilities, so you don't feel as intimidated as you would in other places with the same type of regimen. Worth trying if you want to shock your body and starting getting stronger.

All of the coaches are knowledgeable and enthusiastic which is a huge plus at 7:00 a.m. The best part of OTF is that you can get as much out of it as you want. Plus you might get some extra motivation from your neighbor and do something you didn't think you could.

FLEXCity specializes in interval-based fitness training, incorporating strength training, cardio, and flexibility into each class. Every class is different, but in the class I went to, we did spinning, running on a treadmill, floor-based strength exercises and TRX. You are constantly moving and rotating to different exercises - you never do any one exercise for more than about 3-5 minutes. The instructor, Cora, was awesome at keeping everyone on track and focused on each activity. She was really helpful and even showed me around the machines before class so I knew what to expect. Overall, I had way more fun than I was expecting but I was definitely incredibly sore for several days after! It's a unique and fun way to get in a workout! Note, the Grand Rapids location has a large parking lot in back but they like you to use the front entrance. Get there 10 minutes before your first class so the instructor can show you around and don't forget a towel... you're gonna sweat.

I immediately felt at ease with the nonjudgmental vibe of this place after not doing a spin class in several years. They are 30 minute classes that you feel challenged and don't need to spend hours at the gym to try to get results. I have loved the fuse, transform, and barre classes! I wish my work schedule allowed me to get there more days because it's so fun and challenging that it has made exercising more enjoyable again. If you are looking for a traditional gym feel then this isn't the place for you, but if you are looking for a community that encourages you and like group classes then I 100% recommend you give it a try.
