I previously gave this gym a harsh but fair rating of three stars. I am now rating it four stars because it has what I need and good availability. It's not a fancy place but that doesn't really matter; you're hopefully there to work out and it's perfectly fine for most people who want to work out. One thing that should be pointed out is that they recently swapped some seemingly underused equipment out for half racks. Those look to be very popular (so kudos for meeting customer's needs) but also freed up the smith machines. This makes the gym more open and leaves more racks open at a time. [Further to the gym's credit, it was not too long ago that that bought two extra smith machines to meet demand] My only real issue, as in the past, is that there is not great etiquette among some gym users. Too many people occupy benches and equipment for long periods of time while just sitting on their phones. This happens most often with the cable machines or leg sled. If I can finish three sets of two or three different exercises before you so much as reach for the bar, that's not bad behavior. There are also way too many times that someone takes dumbbells from the rack only to stand only just inches away from it, keeping anyone from getting near that part of the rack. There's no excuse for that when there are several hundred square feet of floor behind them. read more

All I wanted to do was get some answers and somehow this staff member thought it appropriate to argue with the legitimacy of my question. I was verbally assaulted by the desk clerk. Worst customer service I have ever experienced. I tried to open a membership at the Cherry Hill location. When I told the desk clerk that I did not want to download their app onto my cell phone he yelled, "FUCK YOU LADY". I told the desk clerk that I did not deserve to be spoken to in that manner. Review for Planet Fitness - Cherry Hill I was a member of Planet Fitness in Cherry Hill for over a year, but I left due to the lack of employee interaction and overall professionalism. Every time I walked in, there were usually three or more employees standing at the front desk, talking among themselves and ignoring members. A greeting was occasional at best. I often went between work wearing jeans and never had an issue. Yesterday, I went in with a friend (a member for 3 years) as a guest. We received a hello and began working out. Soon after, an assistant manager and a regional manager came over to tell us we couldn't work out because we were wearing jeans. The way it was handled was extremely unprofessional. Instead of quietly pulling us aside, they made it a scene and drew unnecessary attention. When I asked the regional manager why it couldn't have been handled discreetly, he replied, "I'm the bodyguard." This response was dismissive and rude. It was an embarrassing experience, and based on how poorly it was handled, I will not be rejoining and cannot recommend this location. read more

I've been to several PF locations but this one doesn't live up to the standards I'm accustomed to. First, parking is atrocious. Doesn't seem to matter how many people are in the gym, there never seems to be enough parking. Second, I counted 21 machines with out of order sheets on them. This gym isn't big enough to lose so much equipment. Third, nearly all the lockers in the mes locker room are unavailable. Regardless of how many people are in the gym, the lockers are locked. Now there's a new trend of people taking up several pieces of equipment at one time. The staff is all behind the counter on their cell phones. Not very inviting. Honestly, I have heard some INTERESTING things about planet fitness, so I was a bit hesitant to go. I was visiting home for the week and needed a guest pass. I'm totally glad I went because theres literally nothing wrong about this place ?!!!?! So not really sure why the rating is only 3 stars!! For the week guest pass, it's $15, which I found to be a very reasonable price! The lady who signed me up was very friendly and explained everything - didn't oversell me and just let me do my thing. The facility seems pretty clean to me!!! And there are SO MANY MACHINES and SO LITTLE PEOPLE. I came here Sunday around 2PM and then again Monday around noon. I'm not sure if these are just unpopular times, but so far it's been really empty WHICH I LIKE so I can just do whatever I want and slowly learn the machines. OUTDATED. Dirty. Smelly. Dirty old wall paper. Finger prints so OBVIOUS on the machines you can tell there Never cleaned. Typical of a NJ gym. This is why NJ is number in Covid and other diseases. Nobody cares about GOOD health in this state. Toilets filled with feces seven in the morning which proves the ladies room alone was NEVER cleaned. Bottom line, i cancelled my membership Dec 2016 due to a one year deployment and a move to California. I thought it was a done deal. But after looking at the bank statement from my emergency credit card they had on file, they have been charging me for the past two years! -After talking to a very rude general manager, she bottom lines our conversation saying, there was no proof of me cancelling and no compensation would come of the 240 dollars charged to my card due to no proof. i have proof of a combat deployment, and proof of orders leaving the state. they can't drum up why my cancellation didn't go through and left me with a "well that sucks." statement. I have been a Planet Fitness member for many years. When my husband and I joined we were pleased as to the equipment availability, the hours of operation, and the cleanliness of the facility. When the pandemic came in 2020, the gym of course, was closed for several months. As a senior citizens, my husband and I were not ready to return to such a public space when they reopened, so we called and asked what we needed to do to end our membership. The manager of the Cherry Hill gym was totally understanding and he said that we could put our membership on hold and that they would check in with us periodically to see if we were ready to return. They did exactly that, first checking in every three months or so, and later saying that we could check in with them when we were ready. I started back about six months ago, and everything is as it was when I left except with some updated cardio equipment. I would recommend the Cherry Hill Planet Fitness to anyone looking for a no nonsense, well cared for gym where everyone is accepted and comfortable. read more

I joined this gym when it was first built back in the day. I left for a few years and now came back. Still the same Planet Fitness - nothing fancy, nothing extra. I use the cardo machines and to be honest, I really wish they had a class or two. I would take anything at this point because just cardio gets so boring so fast. That said it is clean, convenient and I really appreciate that Monday through Thursday they are open 24 hours. Never had issues here even when I had to cancel my membership the first time, noone gave me drama as they did in some other gyms I belonged to. read more

This gym is great for the price. I'm a student and this is the most affordable option right now. This location is clean and the machines are always working. I honestly can't remember a time when one didn't work! I never used the tanning beds or massage chair (I'm not premium) but it's fine for me. I've also never had any issues of being over charged. Everything is consistent on their end. My only complaint is that I wish planet fitness integrated some group exercise workouts like cycling or dance routines. This is just a suggestion for the higher ups. Also, I wish this location had better weekend hours! By the time they close (7pm on weekends) is when my day is finally calming down and I have time for the gym. Horrible management. Tried to cancel membership that I never used and have been billed monthly ever since. Manager was nothing short of an asshole and treated me like a liar when I tried to dispute facts with her. Legit don't waste your time unless you want to be billed forever even after cancelling. 5/3 update: did EVERYTHING I was told to do to cancel (type a letter with reason, sign it, send via registered mail etc) and a week later they actually had the balls to email me a pdf document to sign and return. Legit so done with these assholes. The form they sent me had today's date as my last day of visit (I went to the club to sign up and haven't been back since). Had the reason for cancel wrong, etc. This has been going on since 2/19/2018. Absolutely filed a report with the BBB and will be regaining an attorney if I get even one moe penny charged. read more

After moving to this area from North Jersey, I was in search of a new gym. After doing some research, and hearing about Planet Fitness's $10/month plan, I was eager to check it out. I liked what I saw during my first visit, and have been a member since March. It has all the equipment I need, friendly staff, and the renovations look great (I can't compare to what it looked like prior to the renovations.) I enjoy coming here, there's enough equipment when it gets busier, and plenty of parking! In their free time, the staff is working on cleaning and maintenance projects, which is great. The fellow gym patrons seem friendly for the most part, too. Suggestions for improvements: A rowing machine or two would be great; a bit more room in the stretching area would be appreciated; and please consider providing sanitizing wipes, instead of the paper towels that we have to spray with the sanitizing spray. Perhaps this would encourage more people to clean the machines afterward-Thankfully a majority of patrons do clean their machines after usage. TL;DR: An awesome value for $10/month! This is an overall great gym with the very basics. It's always clean and well staffed. The price is right for what you get. I pay the extra for the spa bc to me, it's worth it. My only gripe is that you're not allowed to jump rope. This is stupid. The reason explained to me is bc it's a liability. To whom? I'm in shape. I know how to jump rope. Someone could drop a weight on their foot too. I think they need to relax with the gym intimidation policy. Aren't we all there to get in shape after all? Stop with the free bagels or pizza once a month. That's not a reward. That's not encouragement. The staff are great. They're just doing their job. The franchises need to lighten up and start acting like an actual fitness center however. read more

This is a review after 3 years of going to this "gym" (it's not a gym it's Planet Fitness...). Overall I would say it's great for what it is. Affordable, well maintained, clean, brand spankin new equipment, open all the time. However, whether for liability reasons or a desire to remove excess grunting from the space they got rid of all their bench press and squat racks and replaced them with hammer strength and smith machines a few months back. This, on top of dumbbells only going up to 75, has made this an unfriendly place for those who want to lift heavy with free weights. I think this benefits those who are casual, as the weigh area is sparely populated now, but for myself it has negatively affected my workouts here and it's time to move on. read more

I would give this Plant Fitness on Rt.70 Cherry Hill, NJ a (ZERO) star if I could. The Manager Ryan and Staff lied and were extremely rude when I tried to put my membership on hold for 3 months, all due to a recent injury. 1) They said I could not pause my membership over the phone. Therefore, I went into the gym and tried and was then informed I needed a manager present. 2) I went back again and spoke with another employee who informed me that I was good to go. 3) I then get my credit card statement the following month and was billed for another month, yet again. 4) I then tried to rectify this problem over the phone and was told the manager was in a meeting. 5) So, "once again" I had to go back over to the gym and I spoke with Ryan the manager who had an attitude with me and said I needed to bring in a note from my physician after the medical procedure was completed. They should have told me this from the beginning. I feel like they were just giving me the runaround, so I canceled my membership. Now I am out of half a year of my membership fee and two months of my monthly fee. I will never join this gym again as I had been a member for many years. Be forewarned not to believe what management and staff at this facility tells you. read more

Pretty good. Worked out this morning at this location. I just have to say Planet Fitness gyms are all different. There are some things better at this gym and some things not so good at this gym compared to my home gym out in Roxborough. The Good: - the dumbbells go up to 75lbs here. Don't know why they're capped at my home gym - incline leg press machine and more variety of machines to work with (stair step machine in the cardio area). - setup is pretty decent for the space - front desk was nice and more inviting The Bad: - seems like the lighting in some areas are just dark. Ceiling lights just don't brighten the place up, maybe they lowered the setting cause it's summer. - the showers.... They are a bit dated and sure bunch of people peed in the showers because it 'stank' really bad, so I recommend bring sandals or flip flops to walk around with (but that's just the medical side of me). Doesn't feel like the best setup but whatever - water fountain temperature definitely was a bit warm. Wasn't refreshing there. The whatever: - the age group here seems to be more 40+ members which I don't really care for either way but it's definitely the older folks who practice their golf swings at this gym and chat more than they workout so it was just slightly annoying. I do wear headphones but when they're just standing there in front of machines..... I'll be going to this gym before work cause I'm working here in Jersey but I think of the two, I like my home gym more read more

I love this Planet Fitness. The staff here is laid back and cool. The machines always seem to be getting serviced and quickly repaired when they break. The staff is courteous and helpful. They make my guest feel welcomed whereas other Plant Fitness locations make your guest feel like they are being investigated for attending the gym. This location gives no hassle and I am pleased with their professionalism. I have noticed that other PF locations may have a few weight/strength training machines that other PF locations do not have....perhaps because one is newer than the other? Now I went to re-up and I was told that I owed over two hundred dollars in delinquent payments (my payments were taken directly from my credit card)...that the only way to sign up was to pay the 200 dollars, leave two credit cards and my checking account number. I love this location in Cherry Hill. I use to go to the Mount Laurel location when I lived there for 5yrs and also Cinnaminson near my job. It's very organized, professionally run, and so clean!! The air conditioning is on so you're not dying with just a ceiling fan running (Mt Laurel) and for premium black card holders (only $20 monthly) you get so many additional services! Private tanning rooms, Relaxation rooms, Massage Chairs/Beds, Discounts on Drinks (Except Muscle Milk Drinks which are pretty inexpensive for a 17oz for $3.49) and you can bring an additional friend on your visits. You can also use other PF locations if you need to. But everything is right here. They have additional classes and private sessions available if you want it. They're open 24hrs a day during the week which I love and open hours on weekends. Yes, they are a basic gym as people have stated but I think they offer quite a bit for a basic gym! read more

Let me recount my horrendous experience today at Planet Fitness in Cherry Hill around 4:45 pm. First, it was in the 80's with close to 100% humidity outside with ongoing rain. As I did my workout, I could feel the heaviness of the humid air and heat inside of the gym. As it was difficult to breathe and work out, I went over to the front desk and checked the temperature which was registered at 71 degrees. Now, if you check what is a recommended indoor temperature for cardiovascular activity by the IFA, their recommendation is no higher than 68 degrees and 50% humidity. HUGE problem with PF is that they keep the gym too warm. Following my workout, I walked over to the front desk. I asked an employee by the name of Xavier, and another boy who told me his name was "Jake", what they would do if I passed out from the heat and humidity from working out in such conditions. "Jake" smirked and responded, "Well, I guess we'd call an ambulance or something". Can you imagine that an employee at the gym GUESSES that he'd call an ambulance OR SOMETHING if a gym member were to pass out! That makes me feel safe! I asked him for his name, as I was shocked and disappointed at his indifference and disrespect. He removed his name tag, then lied to me that his name was "Jake", and then told me he didn't have a name tag on when I saw him remove it. I pressed him to give me his real name. He continued to smirk and say his name was "Jake". I asked "Jake" for his manager's name, and instead of handing me his manager's business card that was within an arm's reach, he pointed to the area on the counter for me to fetch his manager's cards. I could not believe the level of unprofessionalism. He then walked away from me and away from the check in counter! Xavier then handed me the card, and when I asked Xavier for "Jake's" name, to add insult to injury, he told me he didn't know his name! I said, "You mean to tell me you don't know your co-worker's name? So, now you're both lying!" I requested speaking with a manager on duty. They told me there was no manager on duty and no way to speak with a manager. No I'M SORRY from either one of them. Incredible! This is not the first time I've had an incident at this location. I am an original member of this gym and today was just over the top. On top of that, I am concerned with the state of my health at a gym that does not maintain proper temperature for cardiovascular activity and am disappointed by the people they have working there. What filters do you use PF? Do you just hire anyone, especially people who don't know what they would do if a member passed out?? I will be sure to voice this issue and my concerns around the heat and humidity inside your gym to corporate and anyone else who should know. read more
