Planet Fitness doesn't exactly have a stellar reputation, and most people straight up told me not to give them my money. I ignored the warnings and for the first year or two, this location proved everyone wrong. It was welcoming, clean, and genuinely enjoyable. The staff were fantastic, and the general manager, Lorette, was exceptional: accommodating, kind, professional, and clearly invested in creating a positive environment. Then corporate energy showed up. Over the last 4-5 months, this gym has taken a sharp turn downhill. Whoever is calling the shots above the GM level seems determined to dismantle everything that actually worked. Great, experienced staff were pushed out and replaced with undertrained, disengaged employees, and the entire vibe shifted from friendly and community-oriented to cold and transactional. The few long-term employees who remain deserve medals. They're basically holding together a shipwreck with good attitudes and professionalism, and it's obvious they care--despite leadership making their jobs harder than necessary. The newest round of hires gives some hope, but let's be real: hope doesn't fix bad leadership. If the people in charge continue prioritizing numbers over people, this gym is going to lose what made it special. Corporate may not notice from their offices, but members do and many of us won't stick around forever. read more

Met Eric the mgr. 10 minute limit daily limit on the message chairs per day- oddly no one tells you the rules until you ask for just 10 more minutes when they are not even busy. I was only asking for 10 more for my son who has scoliosis and while I added him as a full paying member. I understand if they were busy. I have gone to gyms pretty much on a daily basis for the past 40 years. I have truly had very few bad experiences. But this planet fitness has what is clearly a well trained staff, it is maintained and kept in excellent condition. Kelsey the manager is exceptional. Her staff is personable, they always greet you and they always say goodbye as you're leaving the facility. While this sounds simple, it tells everyone coming in that they've been recognized and that is a nice feeling. I could not recommend this facility more highly. Clearly the management and the staff take the safety, security, and well-being of their customers and hold it in high regard. I can think of no higher recommendation than saying I would recommend this Planet Fitness without reservation. read more

Of course my first review of 2020 is about a gym. New year, new me! I have a lot of friends who belong to Planet Fitness and I've heard good things, so I decided to give it a try. I purchased the Black Card membership since I live in Montgomery and all my friends live closer to downtown. The Black Card allows me to visit any location and bring a guest for free. This way I can meet a friend at any location and have a workout buddy. Mason is my home location and it's very nice so far. Everyone who works at the desk is very nice and they always welcome you when you walk in. They do the same thing on your way out. On my first day, I signed up for an short orientation, since I've never belonged to a gym and had no idea what to expect. I was shown around by Angelo, who was very friendly and showed me everything the gym had to offer. He also told me that you can sign up for a class on the app called "Design Your Own Program" where you meet with him to set a goal and he helps you achieve it. I came back the next day and met with Angelo. I told him I want to run the Flying Pig 5K in May, and he helped me cater a workout for the first two weeks. He told me he would reach out and meet with me again to change up the workout. He showed me how to use each machine and the proper settings to put them on to achieve my goal. Angelo is so nice and nonjudgmental. He's great! So far I'm really digging Planet Fitness. Let's see how long I can keep this gym trend up before I quit.... read more

Great place to workout, one of the cleanest Planet Fitnesses I've ever been too in Hamilton County. The staff is also one of the friendliest out of all the other gyms I've been too. the staff is so great. But the problem I have with this place the owner that I met, Mike. He is constantly in a bad mood and just terrible to be around. I've seen how he treats his workers, just awful. I tried talking to him and he was just a genuine asshole. the staff deserve better. I asked the front desk about the mask policy since no one (including some staff) were wearing masks. The manager didn't have a mask on while talking with me. I asked him to put it on and he told me no because he was "drinking water". I asked him if they could please enforce the mask policy and he told me it was a gray area. Every time a new location opens I have to go and check it out. My first and favorite thing that stuck out was the lighting in this place. Weird looking bulbs but wow they give an awesome and natural lighting, something you'd have to see to understand I guess. Oh, and if you don't need to change clothes in the locker rooms they have little cubby lockers along a main wall on the main floor, I really liked that being I usually have just my keys. No more key rack so bring a lock! As all Planet Fitnesses, clean stores, well kept and friendly staff. I'll be frequenting this location I'm sure of that! The mason planet fitness is just as good as most other planet fitness gyms. However, I just say that this one is exceptionally clean. Worth the money! The fact that they stay open 24 hours is great, they give you two payments/plans you can choose from. If you are like me I chose to be a black card member, this gives me options to travel to other Planet Fitness gyms and also bring a friend at no extra charge. It also allow me to use the massage chairs and the hydromassage beds which I'm in love with. Sometimes I workout just to get a good massage. There's so much equipment you never have to wait for anything. This is one of the best gyms in the city hands down. read more

Let me preface this review by stating that I also belong to Lifetime Fitness up the street. When I heard that it was only $10/month, I thought to myself that there was no way that this gym could be very nice. Wrong! During the tour with my wife, I noticed how impeccably clean it was. All the machines are new, and in working order, and they even have trainers that will work with you for free. I think the gym is a little wacky for offering free pizza on the first Monday of the month, and free chocolates at check-in. But hey, who am I to judge? It's a judgement free zone right? The temperature of the gym, it's mid-January, was comfortable, and the music wasn't too loud either. My favorite part was that they have a spa section for their Black Card members. Basically there are two memberships. The basic is $10/month, and the Black card is like $24/month. The black card benefits include bringing a friend as much as you want, they have to be with you. And, using the spa section which includes hydro-massage beds, and chairs, plus massage chairs, tanning beds, and a light booth for treating your skin. Not sure what the real name is for the last one, but they have it! The vibe is really inclusive as you have all walks of life and fitness levels in there, and the staff is really cheerful, and helpful. This gym is also open 24 hours, and is staffed 24 hours as well. I would've left Lifetime if they had a sauna, but hey you can't have it all! If you don't need a sauna or a pool, and just want to workout and get a massage, then this is the place! We ended up getting a Black Card membership and now belong to both gyms. I'll primarily use Lifetime because it's closer, but if I'm in another part of the city, or want a massage, then I'll use Fitness Planet. read more

I love planet fitness. I have been a member for almost 3 years now. I go on average 4-5 times a week and have spent countless hours in the different facilities. After switching to this planet fitness, I have had some unpleasant encounters with the new manager who seems more preoccupied by flirting with his younger employees than showing respect to regular customers. Theres a rule that members of a club in a different region must switch their membership. He reminded me I wasn't allowed in the gym every day because I was a member at a different location. However, he refused to help me switch over my membership. He also neglected to tell me I was even allowed to switch my membership; just chose to treat me with hostility but proceed to still allow me into the gym each time. I only recently discovered I was allowed to transfer my membership when I went to the Milford location and employees told me I could do so, which took less than two minutes. In my opinion Planet Fitness's choice in management has great room for improvement. & read more

I went to planet fitness today with my sister. Mike was at the desk and was checking me in when my sister gave her name and asked the gal who was helping her to look her name up in the computer because she forgot her membership tag. Mike started shaking his head in a passive aggressive way and I asked him why he was being that way. He said that my sister never brings her key tag in and always wants them to look her name up. He said he thought she was really rude for doing this. He wasn't even waiting on my sister. My sister has a medical condition that affects her memory. I'm just really happy that she can still remember her name when she checks in. And then you have a guy like Mike telling her she's rude. My sister told me that Mike really embarrassed her. He did apologize, but it's too little too late. I think Mike could do with a little sensitivity training. Please Mike, follow the Planet Fitness logo, no criticism, no judgement, in your future dealings with people. I think you'll find you will become a kinder person. read more

It does not get any better than Planet Fitness in Mason, Ohio. Eric the Manager is awesome and he makes his rounds talking to the clients which is a huge plus in my book. In addition, the Staff supporting this gym could not be any better; they are great and very friendly and call you by your first name. This is by far the best Planet Fitness I've been to. I travel quite a bit, and have worked out at 10+ locations. It's very well kept, clean, and the staff is very friendly. Great layout, tons of space. It is usually fairly busy, but I rarely have to wait more than a minute for a machine. Restrooms are in excellent shape, which you won't find at every PF. I purchased a basic membership at this facility in early October, 2018 wanting to improve my overall physical health. Within a week, however, I began to suffer with serious depression and panic attack disorder (I am an eight year and honorably discharged Army combat veteran and I've been diagnosed with PTSD) and started an unpaid medical leave from work. In late December (having never previously set foot in this establishment - principally because the panic attacks prevented me from driving safely) I had a friend drive me there to cancel my membership. I spoke to Eric Abrams who I believe is the manager and he promised to cancel my membership and refund a $41.52 annual fee, the charging of which had sent my checking account into the red and caused me to incur $86 in overdraft fees, within 10 business days. It turns out that was a lie. The money was never refunded. Mr. Abrams is a liar and I would recommend that anyone in the vicinity looking for a nice place to work out go somewhere else. read more

A nice gym for sure. Everything you could want in equipment and options. Seems like there's a revolving door with employees. That translates into not being able to monitor customers well. I see people not cleaning machines, people slamming equipment, and guys seemingly starring down young girls in a creepy way. It takes away from how nice the gym is. I can't tell you the last time I heard the Lunk Alarm. Seems like they should probably get on top of that before they turn into Gold's Gym or something. read more

I will just say that I've been to two of the local PF locations and this one beats the other one. This is the cleanest most organized PF. The set up is great! The stair climbers are first in line followed by treadmills and then cycles. The very front you have your weight training machines then off to the sides are the 30 min workouts and ab training sections. The locker rooms include plenty of bathrooms and showers. I've never waited even when it was slammed on a Monday night. I do believe this is a judge free zone as they say. So many walks of life in this facility and it's nice to go with no makeup, no cares and do what you need to do! The set up allows for easy decisions on which you're starting first, weight training or Cardio. Each machine has a television if you'd like to watch tv and the channels are a lot! The tanning is as you walk in off to the right and the beds are top notch! They also have a collagen bed that you can lie in if you're a black card member, same with tanning you have to be black card, and this bed helps build collagen in your skin. It does not put off any tanning rays. There is also water massage therapy beds Which has been incredible coming off the weight training! I love the amenities for the price you pay being a black card member...it is well worth $20 a month!! read more

Thought this place was to good to be true with the price. I came in with my mom last week. Her gym previously shut down, so she needed a place to start coming. We have multiple family members that already come here, so it was already convenient for her. During the tour, the front desk associate found out i worked at life time down the street. I told him i was not interested in the membership, because mine is free. He constantly tried to convince me to join saying "this place is so much better". After the tour we sat down and he went over all the prices with my mom. My sister, a white card holder, was with us as well. The team member told us that we should "hold off a couple days because on Black Friday, they were offering the black card for $99 for the year". We even have it in writing. My sister asked if she could upgrade hers and he said yes. Well flash forward to today. We came in to sign up for the deal and i even decided to do it. Figured it would be a nice change of pace. Well we were told they could not offer that, even when we had it quoted. They even tried to call their boss and they refused and offered a small discount. Refusing to honor the employees handwritten quote. And they even tacked on a $49 fee in January...which we asked if there were any other charges for the year and he said no. Not a good way to treat potential customers. Stay away from this place. Just your typical bait and switch. read more

I love the cleanliness of the gym, but I cannot stand how loud the music is there. I left after 20 min. You can ask staff to turn it down so you can hear your music or tv but 15-20 min later it's back to loud again. I like to listen to work outs on you tube and just can't hear it without the volume way up. I'm not jeopardizing my hearing for lack of consideration to my ears. Gymtimidarion? Ya, that what this crazy loud music is to me. Seriously considering leaving and going to a less noisy and more respectful gym. read more
