This is my gym and I enjoy it. The environment is great. I do wish they would fix broken machines quicker. I met many new friends there!

I'm a regular here. Very clean! Friendly staff and friendly fellow workout folks. Tons of parking in the shopping center lot. I'm told this is one of the bigger PF locations. Plenty of equipment. I go here three times a week, and have been for two years, yet I can count the times I have had to wait for a bench on one hand. I know five to eight guys by name who work out in the mornings like me. So it's a nice social scene as well and a break from the isolation of remote work/work from home. Despite recent review suggesting the men's locker room is not clean I have NEVER smelled anything remotely unpleasant and the cleaning staff is working in there every morning. Doing everything from mopping and sanitizing showers to wiping down all the lockers, inside and out. This place is cleaner than my house, and I pay a maid for the house! Just about all gym users are good about wiping down equipment, so I feel pretty safe working out and do my fair share of cleaning. It's a low frills gym. That's the concept. But for the price it really can't be beat I don't think. Never any pressure to upgrade. read more

Don't really understand how this is an improvement over Texas Family Fitness. The TVs went off and haven't come back on. There appears that there was no plan whatsover on what changes were going to be made. Just whatever someone is thinking at the time. There is equipment that was broke before the buyout that is still broke. There is absolutely no communcation to the kids that work there about the owner's plans. Do we keep free weights or not? Those poor people from I35 planet fitness who went from a glorious locker room to something that is maybe 1/3rd the size? I truely only believe that this location was purchased because the trim lights at the counters can be set to purple color. One good thing, the cleaning staff, that was at the closed Planet Fitness are now at this location. Some of the hardest working people I have ever seen. read more

I occasionally come to this location because the one on University closes on Fri-Sun at 7pm and this location is 24/7 Sun-Sat. This location is also bigger, so when it's not as busy it's so nice to be here. It's basically all the same as the University location minus the new weight equipment in the 30 min express section that University recently got. Staff are just as friendly. Planet Fitness has a lot of downsides. If you are serious about fitness, I would choose a different gym. If you ignore this review and choose planet fitness, just be prepared for when you want to cancel your membership, because you will likely be put on hold for an hour before being told you can only cancel via snail mail or by going to the gym in person to cancel. read more

the gym itself is great, but staff members have been pretty useless. staff could not help me figure out the cycling machine, I've yet to hear a welcome or bye, and the trainer was a no show. overall this is a decent gym for self-service so long as you don't expect customer service. the Ft Worth location out does this Denton location. read more

I plan to continue going every day! LOVE IT HERE!! The friendly staff at Planet Fitness goes out of their way to be helpful and assist you with what you need. The classes are very educational and tailored to each member's capabilities. The way they have the weights and machines layed out is very intuitive, & not cramped. The facility is very clean, and does NOT smell like funky feet/sweat! (This is so important to me! My nose is very sensitive) Finally, the crowd that goes here is polite, VERY friendly, and not rude like other gyms. People actually wait for you to wipe down the machines post workout, instead of hopping on just as you stand up and take one step away. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!! read more

I really liked my Planet Fitness when it was at the other on location on 288 and I35. . Now that they've moved it, they got rid of about half of the equipment which was soooo much better than what they have now. I'm assuming they moved it to a different location. They only have 1 chest press machine and it's very hard for a small female to use even at the lowest setting. This place is definitely geared to muscle heads. There aren't enough cleaning stations, so people aren't wiping down the equipment the way they did at the other place. And they completely removed the 30 minute workout room. I'm going to find out when my membership is up for renewal so I can cancel and join LA fitness which is right across the street. LA fitness has a sauna, steam room, racquetball courts and I think also a pool. Add to that. the new location is now 3 miles further from my house, which wouldn't be so bad except that the traffic on 288 is always bad. Takes me 15 minutes longer to get there and back. So disappointed. Can't wait to leave. read more

This gym is fantastic. I'm so happy to have finally stopped in to give it a shot. It's now a lifesaver when I need a workout but I don't want to be outside in bad weather. They have all types of weights but my interest in the cardio machines. They have a ton of ellipicals, upright bikes, recumbent bikes, arc machines, stair climbers, treadmills, and probably more stuff that I haven't noticed yet. The machines are always available - I've never been there when all of them are occupied at the same time. They also have a tanning booth and massage room for those with the premium membership. The facility is nice and bright and the temperature is always comfortable with huge fans creating gentle airflow. Everything is spotless clean and in great working order. There are TVs everywhere with a wide range of channels to watch as you workout. There is also music playing at a comfortable level. There are showers and changing rooms with a ton of lockers. The staff is fantastic. They are so friendly and are very helpful if you have any questions about memberships or machines. Note = They have a monthly pizza day and bagel day (free for members) if you want to offset a few of your workouts. read more

Nasty nasty nasty. I love planet fitness and gym floor looks nice, but this location is always gross in the men's lock room. Bathroom trash can always full, none of showers get hot...... the showers smell like rotten shrimp(not bleached).... pubes/hair in every single shower(was all over my feet).... aaaand a dude was eating a whole wingstop meal in-between sets....on the gym bench. Yikes! Does planet fitness not pay employees enough to get off their phone and to clean/watch around when there's nothing to do? Didn't bother asking employees about hot water either, doesn't look like they'd care anyway... read more

I felt bullied and judged at Denton Tx location. Judgement Free Zone"...only for a select few. If one has conservative values or shows support for their favorite presidential candidate of choice, get ready to be censored and silenced. I wore a Make America Great Again Trump hat and was told I was in Dress Code Violation. I simply stated no, that's infringement of my First Amendment Rights. Even after viewing with morning staff clothing policy and agreeing that nowhere in policy states one can't support a political party. I filed a complaint with corporate only to be canceled a few days later. I have since moved to another location in another city. Highland Village. I had been there many times and the staff there were shocked that I was treated so horrible. They reinstated my membership with them. Now the general manager is harassing that location to get me banned there as well. The people at new location stood up for me and said no. We know this girl and she's a sweetheart. So to them, you know who you are...Thankyou. My 5 stars only reflects Highland Village and the Wonderful People there!!! read more

Started working out here a month ago and am an early riser. Love that the gym is always open, machines are always available and people are always friendly. Charles is the "man of the morning" and is that friendly face you see and pleasant morning greeting you receive walking in the door. He is always polite and helpful and after only a month, he notices when I am "late" or don't show up at my "usual" time. I appreciate that he cares about his job and the people coming through the door. Equipment is always available, place is super clean and the atmosphere is downright pleasant, which is not a description I would usually have for any gym (ha). This place has everything you need for a workout as well as some amazing perks with the black membership. Great people, great price, great experience and I am not sure why it took me so long to find this place! read more

I did reach out to their email and they ended up telling me that its basically up to whoever the owner of each particular franchise is to decide on what their "rules" are. I thought franchised brands had control over the rules? Their initial response made it seem that way too, but I guess that's wrong. And according to Planet Fitness its okay to hold legal documents like your state ID or expensive personal devices to complete strangers at the front desk just to receive a cheap foam pad to use their equipment safely. Their customer service skills are lacking. It's not entirely the staffs fault. I know that Planet Fitness is franchised, so it isn't consistent across the board. Confusing customers, making them feel like they've done something wrong... which they may have.... but nobody wants that negative vibe before they start working out, or even after. This particular Planet Fitness, of the many I have been to across the country, makes me want to terminate my membership. On the first interaction they lead with a abrasive response. They say they aren't like other gyms, most of them aren't... but this particular location is exactly like if not worse. I've tried calling 3 times to cancel my membership and all 3 times it's says my wait is less than 10 mins and 40 mins later no one has still answered! So I press nine to get a call back and several hrs later, I have received nothing! I agree, they make it very difficult to cancel. read more

I have worked out here for over a year today I came in and the assistant manager was extremely rude told me she couldn't help me transfer my membership. She told me I wasn't allowed to jump rope here and needed to do that somewhere else. I grabbed my stuff and I asked her to transfer my membership to this location and cancel my membership and she has an attitude and rolled her eyes at me. I would rather pay $5 more for LA fitness where I am allowed to actually workout and every employee is respectful to their customers. read more

Went and asked the guy at the front desk today why everyone was coming in without masks - I thought they were required. He told me people only had to wear them in "the lobby" and the "the locker room". I said that's illegal. Seriously THE cleanest gym I've ever been to. The staff makes sure everything is clean; you never run out of necessities like paper towels or toilet paper. Members make sure to clean the equipment after they use it. There's plenty of equipment to use or floor space to workout in, I've done both. I hate going to the gym but this Planet Fitness location takes away many of the obstacles. It's big, bright, clean, well maintained and the staff are very responsive to our every need. It's one of the few gyms without all the grunting and feelings of judgement that I've ever been to. If they could just do the work and give me greater will-power it would be perfect. read more

I love this planet fitness. I actually transferred from the Univerisry location to the i-35 and I have no regrets. It's closer to my home but the main thing I appreciate is the sweet and rad customer service. They're beyond nice and as a former retail employee, I know their job isn't easy. BUYER BEWARE!!! Stopped by to check the place out and possibly join. They require 2 forms of payment on file and 1 of those forms of payment must be your bank account number and routing number. I was willing to pay 1 year, the 12 month contract in full. Paying 12 months up front was not acceptable. I was presented a peice of paper to write down my banking information. Seriously? 2 different credit cards were also unacceptable for Planet Fitness. I can not imagine a business that would not take 12 months of monthly payment up front and instead insist on your banking information. Based on other location reviews the place must be like a cult, very difficult to get out off. read more

I love my gym. I love The little red haired guy in the morning that says "good morning good morning", I love the fact that there is very rarely a wait for a machine, and I love that it's not only a place to work out, but a place of community. The only thing that it loses a star for is that the rowing machines aren't very good quality, and that's my primary reason for having a membership. read more

This gym is new with new equipment and plenty of space except for maybe the dumbbell area. Pretty comfortable with plenty of airflow and helpful personnel. I joined so that I could have a change of place to the place I normally go and I'm glad I did. read more

Staffs are generally friendly. Some people are kinda unpleasant​ though (throwing the iron plates in the floor, doesn't clean up sweats..) The broken machines are slow in fixing. And wifi only works well nearby counter. I wish they would get a better router. read more
