Hi, I asked for a feedback form in the Club, but there didn't seem to be one…read more I joined the Club for the pool, having no idea how difficult it can be to get a swimming lane. No pool from 4pm-8pm as the swim team has it, mornings are tough as I constantly get kicked out of a lane due to classes, today 3 lanes were taken to do deep water aerobics for 3 people. I just learned if its not at least 10 people in the class I can refuse to move from my lane. I will refuse to move in the future. On Monday the pool is always filthy, mold everywhere, whatever the cleaning maintenance is on the pool, its not working. I joined in Oct 2025 and there hasn't been a Monday w/o mold yet. I own a pool myself and realize it is constant maintenance, but overnight that pool needs to be shocked, especially after a weekend. Then we have a patron that swims no less that 4 hours, so that is a lane no one else can use for a long duration of time. If people are waiting on a lane one person should not be permitted to swim most of the day. Everyone is trying to squeeze into 11am-2pm timeframe between morning classes and evening swim team. I surveyed Health Unlimited in Mt Airy initially, they require pool patrons to sign up for a lane, that way you aren't arriving and waiting or not getting to swim. Thursdays are the best days as there are no morning pool classes, thus everyone isn't trying to squeeze into a few hours. Currently unless something changes with the pool I won't be renewing my membership in October and I am sad about that as I really do want to come and swim.

However, after spending more time in the gym, several concerns become apparent. Many of the treadmills are quite outdated, appearing to be well over ten years old, and several have controls that no longer function properly. The facility also feels overcrowded, with limited space that can result in walkways and exit routes being partially obstructed. The free weights show significant signs of age and appear to have been repainted over time. While the gym has added some impressive new equipment, many older pieces should be replaced, particularly those with worn or damaged seating. Additionally, I have concerns about the accuracy of some of the weight calibrations. Having trained in numerous fitness facilities over the years, I have noticed considerable inconsistencies. Some machines are also missing weight labels altogether, requiring users to estimate resistance levels. One of the gym's strongest attributes is its membership community. The atmosphere is consistently positive, and the culture among members is genuinely welcoming and supportive. My primary recommendation would be for ownership to reinvest in updating and replacing aging equipment while also addressing the growing clutter within the facility. The newer machines are excellent additions, but replacing some of the older equipment would improve both safety and functionality. At the current rate of expansion, it sometimes feels as though every available space is being filled with equipment. I understand you have been open a long time and you aren't PF or Merritt but elevate hasn't been around that long they are constantly putting new pieces in. It is hard to justify that when I see your social media pictures of hanging out in a bar with drinks or at a very expensive concert. A recent water leak resulted in the removal of the aerobic flooring, which is understandable. However, there has been little communication regarding plans or timelines for replacement. The delay may be related to insurance claims, which is reasonable, but periodic updates would be appreciated. This is probably due to the insurance an update would be nice. One additional concern is staff emergency preparedness. My understanding is that Maryland regulations require at least one CPR-trained staff member to be present whenever the facility is occupied by members. Based on my observations and discussion with staff, that does not appear to be the case. Additionally, the AED is stored in a closet with no sign rather than being readily visible and easily accessible, which could delay response during an emergency situation. Overall, from a value perspective, the facility remains reasonably priced for what it offers.the gym has a great community and some strong features, but updating older equipment, improving communication, addressing overcrowding of items, and ensuring compliance with safety requirements would significantly enhance the member experience.

I had been to other gyms in the past utilizing personal trainers but for some reason nothing ever seemed to stick with me. After meeting with the owner Jeff he created a plan for me to use for the spring of 2015 through now starting with a base build phase and ending with dumbbell work. Because I lived about an hour from Momentum I met with Jeff a few times before beginning the program to establish a baseline and to make sure my form was correct before going off on my own. Over the past year the workouts got harder and harder but Jeff was there every step of the way by either reviewing proper form with me, tweaking the workout if equipment was not available, and most importantly the positive attitude which seems to be infectious. A year later and I have gained 15 lbs of muscle, measuring 37 inches of additional mass in my arms, chest, legs, and hips in addition to strength and endurance. In the past the hardest part of the workout process has always been finding motivation to complete an exercise let alone a 52 week program. But Jeff some how got everything to "click" for me and I found the workouts to be a challenge that I had to accomplish. If you are serious in any aspect of exercise (from weight loss to muscle gain) I would recommend stopping by and talking with Jeff, he and the Momentum team will help you get the results you desire.

I am 55 years old, 6'1", 182 lbs and used to workout like 20 years ago, then drifted off track for a long time. Here's are the results that have happened since signing up: 1. Wife said, "Hey, your butt was disappearing, but now it is coming back!" 2. I am filling out my shirts and shorts again. 3. I have more energy. 4. ALL physical activities are better. 5. I am watching what I eat a little more consciously. 6. I stopped making excuses for not working out and now somehow I have the time to do it. 7. I found out that, by myself my workouts were lazy and I did not push myself, but with an instructor-led small group and professional program, I complete the workout and push myself. Other thoughts: 1. The trainers at Forever Strong are helpful, kind, motivating and experts at the techniques. 2. The unique program combines weight training, core strengthening, and cardio all in about 45-50 minutes. It is a well rounded approach and great experience. 3. The program changes every 9 weeks entirely and each workout during a given week rotates among 4 different themes/variances to keep it interesting and balanced. 5. Since I am actually using what I am paying for, it is a fair value and exceptionally high return on investment for the monthly price. 6. Their web-driven scheduling system allows me to reserve my space in the session that best fits my weekday and time. 7. Forever Strong sends out helpful video emails with new techniques and exercises. I highly recommend Forever Strong for people who are committed to getting stronger, feeling more powerful, and taking their fitness to the next level.
